    Nicely done review and even better set up. Hiding the cable really makes a big difference in the presentation of the tv. Can’t wait to get mine. Thanks for the post.

    Be careful LG 4K OLED tvs suffer from burn-in/image retention. My two year old LG 4K OLED TV had to have its screen replaced, buy LG, due to screen burn-in only after 15 months. The replacement screen is now experiencing burn-in just after six months. Buy an LG 4K OLED TV at your own risk!
    LG Display also supplies panels to other companies including: Panasonic, Sony, Grundig, Philips, Metz, Loewe, Skyworth, Changhong, Haier, Konka & KTC.

      Absolutely - that is an issue with these panels. I haven't had any issues at all after two months. They automatically go into a screen saver mode very quickly (a minute or two) if you have something paused, and also brightness is lowered automatically. It will be interesting to see how it holds up

    A gorgeous looking TV but the pain in the ass it causes for it to basically REQUIRE to have its cable hidden in the walls ( Swiss homes usually don't have easily modifiable drywalls ) and the look of the Sound Bar kind of put me off hence my decision to go with the *SONY KD-77A1* which will look virtually the same on the wall when viewed from my bed.

    Now that you had the TV for over a year, are there any issues that you have experienced?

    • @michaelscott8955

      Zero issues at all. I have experienced no OLED burn-in which is great as I was a bit worried about that.

    Hello, love the video, we just ordered our w7 and I wanted to know what methods you applied to the ribbon cable in the wall to prevent fires?

    I plan on hiding away the included sound bar and use my Bose lifestyle system via HDMI or optical. Are you able to disable the sound bar to not allow the speakers to rise up when changing the sound input settings? Also have you experienced any burn in? I noticed you had CNN on I have a 65" C7 that has very light but noticable burn in from watching Fox News and CNBC constantly with the lower third static images. I should have been more careful with the oled brightness and watching more media content but I wasn't aware of this potential issue. It appears some panels are more susceptible than others.

      I have not experienced any burn-in at this juncture. I do watch a variety of programming and probably only watch 1-2 hours a day. But over the first few months so far no issues. On the sound bar, the answer is yes - you can strictly run sound through the optical out to a dedicated system.

      Great question. It's a glossy finish for sure. Need to be able to put blinds down on a bright day, but contrast is very good so if you remove bright light sources there are no issues.

    Hey,
    Very nice Setup.
    Can you tell me the dimension from the cable and even better from cable conduct.
    Just renovating my living room and want to build the conduct for the w9 wich i will get in October.

    • @wavesportmailer
      @wavesportmailer 5 років тому

      Stephan Michaels - the cable is a flat cable with the widest part (that has to make it through a conduit) of 2.4” . The best conduit to use is a rectangular hv rated corrugated metal or certified plastic.

    how much did you pay for it? and where did you buy it from?

    • @michaelscott8955
      @michaelscott8955  6 років тому +2

      I think it was about C$6,000, or roughly US$4,800 at today's exchange rates. I bought it from an authorized LG seller on eBay
