I’ve been using these for about two, two and a half months. Can definitely recommend them, except for one issue: the left bud has a low-level white / flapping noise that I wasn’t able to get rid of, at least on mine. Plural. I returned one pair because of it, thinking it a defect, but as the second pair had the same identical issue, I just got used to it.
It’s nothing you’ll really hear when walking / exercising / biking outside, though, so it doesn’t cause issues with the main use case for me: being able to listen to navigation instructions and music while biking without compromising safety too much, as you can still hear your surroundings.
The fact that the microphones work well for calls was an added bonus. Also: the silver one is a chrome, mirror finish. Great for a traditional cyberpunk look.
EDIT 2023/12/03: The latest firmware update mitigates the issue by about 60%. The ’flapping’ noise in the left bud is now reduced to just a slightly punchier white noise. Great! Easily 9,5 / 10 earbuds now. 🙂

Interesting. I'm a huge fan of the Sony Link Buds because I prefer to have the openback for hearing stuff going on around me when I'm running or biking. This seems like a quality alternative.
I think jumping rope would be the ultimate test for seeing how well your buds/phones/ wearable stereos(?) will do as far as staying on your head. It'd be nice to see some tech people give that a shot. I've never found anything I was satisfied with. These seem promising.

I use these headphone/bud/speakers and they are amazing for cycling. I used to have bone conduction headphones but they lacked bass, these are far superior and last for AGES between charges so you can go riding for hours with no worries.

I just switched to Shokz OpenRun which are also open ear but squeeze a bit much for their bone conduction tech. I really prefer the open ear because buds can give me a mild case of swimmer's ear after a while, as well as they just get skin and some ear wax on them. These maybe a good choice if they stay on as good as they did in the video, which is why I went with the OpenRun. A loop for a loose string would be nice if you don't want to risk losing one if they do get knocked off.

The one thing I think you should also start testing with any and all headphones is how they feel for those who wear glasses, because the comfort level is always different for us. And while these look awesome, I have Aventree open-ear headphones (wired with lightening port, but they also have wired for USB-C & 3.5 jack) and I had to get used to putting them on and how to wear them differently due to my glasses than I likely would have if I didn't need glasses. I do love them, my only gripe is that on public transit, I have to turn them all the way up, and so my iPhone gets upset with me about it.

Also, bands that just loved the 100+hz bass... kottonmouth kings was one of the worst (of what I listened to anyway) for this. Don't get me wrong, plenty of great tracks, but also quite a few with that 100+hz boosted way up. It's like punchy, but not deep.. not a fan unless it's mixed in more balanced.. I think I would hate these just because of that alone.

I have the OWS 2 model, it is not worth the money, considering the basic functionality is broken (chinese special...).
    1. The right-left balance is messed up and changes every few days randomly
    2. The right earbud does not want to charge at the same time as the left
    3. The app requests every permission under the sun yet is so pathetically half-baked it's just sad

I'm super interested in things like this as a secondary (primary?) earbud for when I need to hear and am listening to something like podcasts or audiobooks where the sound quality isn't as important, and maybe sometimes music if they sound decent enough. The only problem is I don't want to spend high quality price for something like this when I only care about them for speech. If someone could make something like this way cheaper I'd be very up for it.
On a side note about battery life, I've been wondering about this as well with true wireless buds. Idk why it's not more common to have the hook behind the ear design to be able to fit way more battery while also making earbuds much much more secure. I'd way rather have that even on in ear buds for the massive increase in battery life. Let alone the fact that they're less likely to come out, and if they do they're less likely to fall completely off of you to the ground, and if that somehow does happen, they're much easier to see/find since they're larger.

Just spend a little more on your primary and use pass through mode?
I do that with my beats fit pro

@@hord1827 I have passthrough on mine, but it's just not the same. I can't control the passthrough volume so it's still quieter than not having them in, and it still never sounds as open and natural as real unplugged ears. Then there's always the issue of talking with your ears plugged adding a bunch of resonance of your own voice into your head.

I love the OWS1 1st Gen model and the sound balance (right ear not as good as left). Only thing was that at high frequencies there was a little static and that bothers me. Also tried to use them for gaming but the sound latency is massive like when watching UA-cam you would think it's lag from network but no... just a massive delay

I've got the original OWS, they are amazing for what they are. But, they lack in deep bass, and the output is kinda weak. (Maybe my ears does not accept them good enough to have strong volume.)
Paid around 300cnd. For 300$ you can get A LOT of a better sound. But if you're a fan of the design, they're pretty much best in class. Also battery life is amazing.

I wonder if they could do something with more speakers per ear and really go for the that natural surround experience. Might be interesting for movie watchers but might also be really popular with the VR crowd. In long VR sessions in ears become uncomfortable and over ears are just heavy and annoying together with the headset and I think realistic spacious 3d audio could be a great addition for VR.

daily the original OWS-1s and i cant fault them, so any improvement on them is always for the better. for me the main standout feature is the inclusion of a charging case. the original ones didnt have one and it was an optional upgrade. but also more bass and louder volume is good! i cycle with mine, there amazing for music, especially compared to my aftershokz bone conduction headphones. however the OWS-1s arent the best for podcasts. some people (especially Luke on the wan show) are easily over powered by wind noise.
