    When I was young we used paper bags for our groceries and had paper straws. Soda came in bottles you got your deposit back when you brought them back. They were were washed and sanitized and reused. Chipped bottles were crushed and made into new ones. Our way was better for the environment. Why do they mess with things? Loved the video Paul. God watch over Paul and his family help him to continue to bring your message to others. ❤

    Its great to see you are still enjoying your hobby and a few bucks in the pocket is like icing on the cake. I realize those legos may have brought some money but that would have been quite the undertaking to get them all out of that mess. I would have left them too....on to the next dumpster!! I use to work for a company that made plastic bags. I worked in the re-processing part of the plant. They would buy scrap plastic from other companies that we would then grind into flakes, melt down and form into small pill size wafers. They would then process those pellets back into plastic bags. Was good to see the plastic recycled. Great video and best of luck in all you do!!

    They threw it away because we the taxpayer are forced to pay to replace it all. Sad that they didn’t donate it , there is a place called Saint Vincent De Paul here in Michigan that takes donations and helps people in the community with the money they make. One year I was about to have my heat shut off and they paid my shut off for me. Now we shop there , donate and we recommend them to everyone. Wonderful organization. Also wanted to let you know we made a trip to the scrap yard this afternoon and got 33.46 . All copper we got from a last day at an estate sale for a whole box we paid 1.00 aluminum and a bunch of led. The lady at the scrap yard said scrap metal is about to go down again:( god bless you and thank you for the video. Oh you can sell the motor out of the washer on eBay for 35 bucks on some of them !

    Here in Miami-Dade County FL we have garbage bins and recycle bins. I was very faithful about sorting my trash from the recyclables. Then... about 18 months ago I discovered that the recyclables were going DIRECTLY to the landfill and not to a recycling center! Turns out that price of recyclables tanked and it was no longer worth doing plastic recycling. The Florida Keys has banned the use of plastic straws and lids for many years and now Miami Beach has banned those items along with Styrofoam coolers and single use plastic take out food containers.

    Just an fyi, to easily clean legos, put them into a mesh laundry bag ( like you use for delicates) and either swish them in a bucket of soapy water or you can put them in the dishwasher on the top rack. To speed drying, swing the bag in a circle really quickly to shed the water.

    Fact: all plastic that has ever been produced is still in existence today. So good to hear somebody on American/Canadian UA-cam understanding the plastic recycling nightmare. I'm always horrified by the amount of waste in the north. The only answers to plastic are to stop producing any more, absolutely no single-use plastics, and find a use for all the plastic we already have.

    Seeing all of that stuff tossed sometimes breaks my heart. There wasn't much my father couldn't fix or repurpose.We were raised to use something until it couldn't be used for that purpose anymore then you found another use for it or gave it to someone else who would use it. Old clothes eventually became a quilt or grease rag. Nothing was wasted at our house. We went to the town dump to find new {to us} stuff instead of filling it up. Of course now you can't do that because of sue happy people.I guess this can be called my first ever online rant.You have a blessed day and I'm praying for the prices to come back up for ya.

    I’m so glad I stopped in! Great video and a good reminder on what happens to our recycled material! I actually am an avid recycler and you guys might wonder why I fell off this past year is because I started a job with the plastic industry! 100% I can say I regret it very badly! The owners and managers of these manufacturing plants for raw materials absolutely do not care for even a half of a mili second about the environment, its all about the $! We do adhesive films with many different films and applications! For example we are the adhesive (plastic film) pressed into the fabric for soccer and hockey jersey numbers and patches! The adhesives for military gloves for waterproof application! Adhesive for the new digitized car dash boards where they apply the adhesive on the green boards for electronic applications the list goes on! I feel so guilty when the dumpster of discarded waste is full at the end of every week! Sometimes 2 dumpsters full of melted plastic and all this crap in it like metal (in the plastic) and other debris that will never ever be undone! I am definitely feeling the exposure to all of this and I am bolting out of there for dear life! Before this I was in the glass company for 8 years! Just as bad but nothing compares to the discarded waste from these factories! I believe these places should be penalized for all the pollution they’re pumping into the atmosphere! Imagine all the plants in the world like this- We are definitely in trouble 100% just from my work experience I completely want out of the factory life! As a worker you realize all of this is for some rich scum bag that doesn’t care about anything but the rich little environment they live in with huge bank accts and a big house and good old happy family while you and the goodness of the planet rots! You realize these are the same people who act like they did nothing wrong after spending $1,000,000,000,000,000 at our healths and futures expense! Meanwhile we don’t even have a pot to piss in! and I don’t understand how its legal! EPA should look into every industry like these and do weekly check ups! It’s disgusting! Look around right this second, everything you see that is plastic around you has been melted to its form and made the earth a little warmer!
    But on the bright side when seeing the darkness of mans ways Jesus saves’
    I love you all because you are good people who mean well! Thats who I am and yes I have to survive but I will do better with happier and healthier ways! Especially when it comes to earning a living! My new career choice is becoming a local driver! Its much more peaceful this way:) Thx for allowing me to vent peace

    Hey Paul! First of all I wanted you to know that I love the seeds that you sow each day. God is using you in His mighty plan to spread the good news of his love and mercy!! I know that you are eternally grateful that you heard and answered his call.
    I had a thought that I felt led to share. Any other sleeping bags that you may find in the future might be useful with the Boy Scouts. Do you possibly have a homeless coalition in the area? They could help some of the homeless stay warm this winter.
    Bless you.

    • @ScrapPalletMan
      @ScrapPalletMan  5 років тому

      There is very little if any unsheltered homeless in this County. I like that. Breaks my heart to even imagine someone trying to sleep in a sleeping bag in Winters where it is 30 degrees below freezing. Our society is much better and to leave an individual unsheltered.

    • @susannichols7533
      @susannichols7533 5 років тому

      I do agree and am so thankful that your county cares. I live in Florida and here they kick the homeless out of areas because they are an eyesore to tourism! May they never have to experience hunger or homelessness themselves!

    Hi Paul,
    Like your video's.
    Couple of questions: can you just take whatever you want from dumpsters without permision? And why is your loading trunk, full of sharp metals not covered bij a net or some kind if plastic sheet? This stuff could fall out while your driving.
    In the Netherlands it is mantitory to cover anything you transport.
    What says the law on this in your area?

    That is your government at work for sure Paul, like you said why would not one of them walk that Lego over to thrift shop. At least the metal gets recycled, we sort all our recycling into bins only to have it all end up dumped somewhere. We should be able to recycle plastic or burn it safely to generate power or something. Bless you brother.

    I thought I heard or read somewhere that if a place has your sensitive personal information it's against so law to not dispose of it properly. As in having a contract with a company that shreds said sensitive information. When I worked in a call center anything like that was put into locked bins inside the office and then there was a company that came and got it to shred. Maybe it's a thing in Pennsylvania.
