    Hey John, I am not removing those rubbers from skid plate when I am taking it down... You just need to slid down the skid plate with these on... You can do it very easily with little bit of wiggle :) It saves some time :)

      Great idea! Thanks for posting, that will make the process easier and save some time for sure. I really appreciate you taking the time to help myself and others out!

    At the 23:27 timestamp, the rubber pieces will slide down and out of the fuel tank if you leave them attached to the skidplate. When you re-install the skidplate they will help hold the skidplate in position while you re-install the mounting hardware. when given the option of using a Torx or a nut driver I''ll' always use a nut drive, less chance of striping the Torx.

      By the way Sir did you use brake cleaner to clean the two oil screens ?

    • @oregonmotojohn
      @oregonmotojohn  2 роки тому

      @@alex4daddy1 I believe that I used brake cleaner, but contact or eletrical cleaner would work as well. Spray the 2 screens and also be sure to hit the magnet in the middle that catches debris, I should have showed that process. Blast them real good! The magnet is a small one in the middle of the plastic tube before the screen.

    For those of you with a 2023 model I found mine don’t have the two bolts holding the skid plate onto the fuel tank. The threaded holes are there but holes on the skid plate are much smaller and won’t even allow a bolt to screw in there

    Thx John. Still waiting on my 890. They said feb but might as well learn now.
    I’ve never had a big bike but I do everything on my KTM 350. My buddy taught me to torque every bolt which is specified in the shop manual. Even inch pounds on some bolts.
    I suck as a mechanic so for me, I’m rest assured it’s tightened correctly.

      Hi! Thanks for watching! I installed the Rallz on the front and Adventure on the rear for a little more longevity for rear. Great combo!

    What is your small tank bag?

    • @oregonmotojohn
      @oregonmotojohn  5 місяців тому

      That is the tusk Olympus (small) tank bag, it has been the perfect size for me. Small enough to not get in the way, but big enough to hold, wallet, snacks, windbreaker, phone, charger or anything else you want to jam in there. Here a link to the exact one: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/tusk-olympus-tank-bag-p?s=1604199&v=20592&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-_mvBhDwARIsAA-Q0Q7s1mY-4-k9FInRyJTmoOfSyQfITLnEv9-l0TslX8awMz5614E4gMgaAjZeEALw_wcB

    Sir, I'm having trouble finding parts that list 2022. Most go up to 2021. Can you tell me if the 790 and 890 use the same parts for these oil filters? I have a 2022 890 adv R. Just hit 600 miles. Thanks.

    • @oregonmotojohn
      @oregonmotojohn  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! Yes, the 790 and 890 use the exact same parts for the oil filters. I had some left over from my 790 and crossed referenced them before installing them. Then, as a last precaution, matched them up when they were pulled from the bike. My bike shifted so much better after my firlst oil change at around 600 miles. Best of luck finding some parts! 👍

    Hello John why pledge furniture polish ?

    • @oregonmotojohn
      @oregonmotojohn  2 роки тому +2

      It has a little silicone in it and helps repel dirt and grime. Cleans amd fills the poors of substrate so it is less likely to attract and hold dirt. Works great on plastics too! Something everyone has most the time. You could also use Maxima SC-1. Soap and water works fine too of course. Now you know about my Pledge addiction. 😉
