    ‘90s supermodel hair might be the perfect way to usher in the new year. But, the next-gen version relies on strategic layers dictated by your natural hair texture. “This year is all about soft, contoured shapes that fall gently and naturally into place, the hair should have just enough thickness to deliver a beautiful blowout. “You want round layers and volume that starts at the root. To nail the look, I suggest prepping your strands with a styler like Joico Joi Whip for extra lift.

    If you have thick hair with lots of volume, this cut is a no brainer and takes no effort to style. I grew my hair long for the first time during the pandemic, and I came across this technique while browsing to find what to do with my hair. I tried it and loved it immediately! After years of coming out of salons dissatisfied, turns out the best cut for me is one I can do myself!

    • @Dogandcatmom51
      @Dogandcatmom51 6 місяців тому +4

      @@PaulWattsHair , I’ve been doing the pigtail cut on myself, and you have a video of a similar cut using the two pigtails on the sides and the one on the fringe. What I like about the pigtail cut is that it’s layered but not chopped into-so the result is a smooth and gradual rounded, full shape. I thought that maybe the reason I like it is that it’s a stationary guide cut, and this pony tail cut is as well, so I thought I might like the pony tail cut too.
      I would love to see a video on how the shape comes out differently based on different placements of the pigtails on the sides of the head, if you are ever interested in doing that.
      This pony tail cut looks great on the mannequin!

    How is it possible that you get a V at the back while when you cut a ponytail you get the middle shorter than the sides right?

    • @changemymind06
      @changemymind06 5 місяців тому +1

      Because your hair from the back has a longer distance to travel. It is wrapping around your whole head, starting from the neck, up to the occipital bone up and around the biggest part of your skull and still forward to the pony tail, if that makes sense... the sides have less to travel around just going softly up and around the sides to the ponytail. When the hair is in the ponytail, imagine the back section is shaped like a question mark and the sides are shaped like a parentheses. The question mark is a longer line than the parentheses... oh gosh I hope this makes sense!!! 😅

    I hope he wouldn’t rip through my hair with a comb like he did with that mannequin! Haha. Btw, does it work for straight thinner hair?

      Check out one of my last year videos on straight hair. I often get the comment, "what's it like with curls" so for 2024 it's all about the curls.

    Its just for thick hair or curly wavey hair. For thin hair you look like that you have less hair

      Yeah but I can't stand watching Brad mondo so i appreciate Paul's easy going tutorials MUCH more. Besides trends are stupid. Just do what you want and don't let your life be dictated by general opinion. So boring
