These houses are just lovely. The village is beautiful. It must be magnificent in person.Dave you find the most amazing places to show us. Thanks Dave and Logan for another wonderful walk. Peaceful is the right word Dave. That is how I feel watching and listening to all the history of this wonderful area.👏🏻
Hi Dave, Walked your Milton Abbas walk today - lovely - thanks. Worth mentioning if you want to go into St Catherine’s Chapel you have to pick up a key from the farm shop and pay a fiver deposit. Best to know before walking up the hill to the chapel. Great walk, lovely day.
Thanks for the information John. I would have loved to have had the opportunity to look (and film) inside the chapel. A good excuse for a return visit I think!
Just completed this walk today and it's yet another great walk compiled by Dave. A couple of little cheeky hills, but nothing serious. Milton Abbas is a beautiful little village with plenty of charming features. Keep up the good work Dave! Kind regards, Henry and Beth.
Hi Dave, what a great video I know this place like the back of my hand as my grand pairents lived in one of the white houses in the village, I lost my wife of nearly 30 years to brest cancer back in march and I do this walk about twice a month as it makes me feel so much better in myself .Richard.
Hi Richard. So sorry to learn about your loss & I my best wishes go to you. Lovely that you have a family connection with such a beautiful place. Thank you for watching.
Very pretty village and great walk and history lesson. Thank you. At least it is lovely and peaceful in the village. Look what happened to Nuneham Courtenay in Oxfordshire when the Earl decided to move the village. It is now on a very busy main road. Probably fairly quiet when there were just clippetty clops going through! 😊🐴🐴
Oh Wow. Such a Beautiful Village . Oh and the Chapel beautiful and church wonderful like the sound of the street fares wonderful . Just amazingly beautiful. I’m amazed . 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍I love it 😍.....A wonderful history Dave . Thankyou . Dave amazing Dee🐕and Sam
My daughter and I have recently discovered your channel, and we are loving it. We are Australian so not much of a chance we will ever walk these paths but like feeling like we are joining you and Logan for a walk from the other side of the world. Thanks for the great videos.
Gosh so 😮 love the green steps . Gosh horses love them wonderful. Well Dave I think this is my fave walk very interesting my fave Thankyou. Definitely a big Wow. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Lovely stuff Dave, nice videos👍I worked in Milton Abbey for a few years and it’s such a lovely spot views. One little gem in the area is an old folly ruin created by capability brown. it’s in the forestry commission woodland north of the abbey, you can just about see the spot from the chapel looking past the Abbey.
Thank you Dave, wonderfully idyllic village and fantastic scenery. My greataunt Fanny Sophia Hooper was born here in Dec 1886 during her families trek from Pulham Dorset through to Liss in Hants. Great to see how the village would have almost looked at that time.
Apparently Middleton/Milton is named because it is in the very middle of Dorset! I didn't realize until recently. Beautiful location. Well done Dave another brilliant video. 😀
Hello Dave. Lovely little village, which I have heard the history of sometime ago. You, however fill in so much more important details, together with your photography. That Abbey church is very large for such a small village and even a pub. Thanks so much for the video.
Thank you Dave and Logan, brought back memories of doing a walk similar to yours when we stayed in the area to visit the Blandford Stream Rally, a few years ago.
Hi Dave Another great video When we do that walk and we reach the Abbey, we just walk to the right which takes you to the bottom of the steps to the Chapel, and carry on and walk out main entrance. No one has ever stopped us. Then you turn right and walk along road which takes you under a angled bridge which is actually carrying the steps up to the the Chapel! All the best Alan and Michelle Plus Maisie and Freddie (Dogs) 😂
Thanks. Yes, I thought there used to be a sort of permissive path as you describe (it showed in an old walking guide book that I was using) but there was some sort of event going on when I was filming (lots of folk about etc) and a "new looking" footpath sign indicating that there was no public access - which was a nuisance as it would have made for an easier circular walk! Hopefully it was a temporary thing and that it is accessible again.
Hello Dave thanks for sharing this Part of Dorset with us. we were looking for inspiration to get out and see our Beautiful Dorset. There are so many wonderful places to visit. we will be visiting Milton Abbey Church when we can get the time to take in the wonderful landscape. such informative too which we really appreciate. we hope you have a wonderful day and we look forward to seeing more from you. Welcome to our youtube Family my friend Love and Light Sarah and Glenn
My home village, thanks for the great video, you passed very close to where I lived for the first twenty years of my life. What you called monks walk, we called it fishermans walk, my neighbour who also came from Milton, called it green walk. Funny how things change👍🏻
@@DaveFord Seeing you and Logan together on your trips you look so happy. Sussex is too busy now! I'm looking for the right area has to be not too distant from airport for my son working abroad so cuts a lot of places out...still beautiful areas though and wish you many more happy trips out.
Am loving your videos Dave. I’m from Poole originally and need to get back to Dorset and go on some of these incredible walks, a lot of which I’ve already done as a child.

Never been to Dorset it looks beautiful, and what a pretty little chapel.
So many trees too.
