So far so good. It takes a little to get used to (first grapple) but working good. You've seen me bump into the ends of the forks before...I have to be really careful not to bump into the points of the grapple!
Thanks Paul! Actually it was one of the tree fellers that dropped off the logs and he mentioned using his boot from time to time...it must be close to a foot! 🤣
Sometimes logs will surprise you. That’s a good way of rolling the logs. Less backache . Every time I think I got a plan… we’ll let’s say it never works out. 😂😂 Good job there Sir.
They sure do and thanks Steve! It is a good way to turn the logs but I need to redesign it because the whole building was shaking turning this one. It's putting too much sideways pull on the beam.
It doesn’t have issues, it has character 😂
True, if I was selling it I would use more flowery words 😁
Is that an impact or drill you use to turn log? Done use impact, always use drill.
Its a regular drill. I tried an impact initially but 'no good'
How’s that grapple working for y’all?

@@southernadirondackoutdoors yea I know what you mean. Those things hurt 🤣
1x12s is what I would have gone with as well. Sometimes once inside, the log will fool you. That was a pretty rough log, good job!
Thanks! Hopefully he is coming today to pick everything up.
"I don't really have a plan yet". That pretty much sums up every log that comes across my mill.
Yup, sometimes just start sawing is the plan 😁
Nice job and yield Paul, you can't judge a book by its cover. You have a tree service guy that uses a tape instead of his boot.

Good Job on that ugly log keep on sawing
Thanks Robert! Will do.
I cut a lot of white pine clear logs I did not play with. that kink of log can’t make anything out knots just dunnage
Agree, but turned out good enough for bulldozer shed in the woods siding.
Just like people sometimes the beauty is all on the inside.
Brent
Very true Brent.
Blue stain is beautiful. Nice grapple!
Thanks Dale err Derek 😁 It seems like people are split on blue stain, some like some hate
For such a ugly log , nice yield Paul !
Thanks Dale!
