Maybe im weird for saying this, but looking forward to it... Should be interesting. Everybody comes at problems differently. Part of why i like watching people mess around in this game. See how they solve the problems, maybe adapt some of my ideas to those....and share some of my ideas on occasion.
@@TheBercas arent they?with so many scripts and mods and QOL by now its just so easy... just use vanilla and do you can do all that..its just not my style shame i was really enjoying it.. but it feels more like creative then survival.. anyway good game
duuuude this series is fantastic, the cinematics, timelapses, architecture, builds, innovation, EVERYTHING to keep people interested in video's like these is absolutely incredible! I'll definitely be staying to watch forever if this level of quality is a baseline for you. Keep up the good work!
What did i just watch? I was thinking after the small block proof of consept thing you buildt at the start that this was going to be a simple looking thing that was probobly not going to be intresting. I humbly apologize for ever thinking that. This is by miles the best designed elevator i have ever seen in space engineers. Thank you for making this!
Every time I watch one of your videos I'm blown away by your build style, aesthetics....I don't know how to describe it. It's beautiful art. Your palette just happens to be Space Engineers.
I feel lucky to be here to see this HUGE project unfold, thanks for all the time and effort you've been putting into this for our entertainment, the production quality alone is enough to keep me excited for the next episodes, but the scale and beauty of these projects is awesome. Keep up the awesome work Bercas, we will be here to support you :)
This is insane, but in case youre not aware, I've heard mag locking rover wheels can be dangerous, so it might require something else like piston mag plates on the rovers or on the elevator. Or, it could be fine. I've never actually tried it
i'm really blown away by the level of detail you put into your builds!! like.. your use of hierarchical scale.. the way you use color, value, and lighting to add depth and complexity to otherwise featureless areas? it all works together to add a sense of realism and groundedness that makes you feel like you're looking at a fully lived-in world :D my one question for you about the elevator is have you considered balancing the visual weight of the main arms by adding some sort of counterweight to them that extends in the opposite direction of the platform? i'm visualizing something that resembles the counterweight on a trebuchet or a pumpjack, and i think that would add some more mechanical plausibility-- if you don't mind the suggestion :] really inspiring work! can't wait to see where you take this series next :D
Really great to see someone new putting out such excellent SE content, amazing work! There is a programing script, called Easy Automation 2, that is, well maybe not easy, takes a little time to get used to it, but with that one PB you can set it up to do everything you want, you can even have it slow down the rotors right before the top and bottom, so it doesn't bounce (its what I do for my big hanger doors), and have it control pistons, lights, LCD's etc.
The custom clunky mechanical sounds for the elevator were a great touch! Re: the mag plate set into the elevator (visible at 35:30), that's a smooth build. I've used similar mag plates to lock down my vehicles for transport. Never on an elevator lift, but in other places. I don't know if you've experienced this, or maybe you've taken precautions. But if you lock onto a vehicle's wheels as you do here, and then save the game with the wheels still locked, then loading the game later can invoke some infinite-velocity wrath of Clang as the game loads in and tries to suss out the subgrids. I think the savegame only stores data about the existence of the grids, but respawns the wheels back in, and that can cause stuff to spawn inside other stuff or be displaced instantaneously. Best thing to do is to just not leave any wheels locked to a mag plate when saving. :D Which is probably fine for you since your lift platform isn't really meant for long term parking.
hey just an idea have the lift slow down at the top and bottom for a more smoother ride to hopefully stop the bounce back that you get when it gets to the end of its run also if it was me i would add some flashing lights and a alarm to warn others that the lift is in motion love your content currently working on a big project of my own where the main focus of it is the large hanger bay for med to large ships with small hanger bays to the side for smaller ships everythings is going to be connected underground with a large storage warehouse with refineries and assemblers for auto production to fix damage ships or to auto repair the base there will also be a drop zone for ore's and another for any selvage that either myself or other players may get when stopping to refuel it is an open world for others to join only up to 6 players can join until i fix my pc thanks for the great content keep it up there is a saying the factory must grow but in the case the base must grow 🤣🤣
Dude you are so underrated, this build looks fantastic and gives a lot of inspiration. I love the bridge design and how it is slotted in under the grates. I actually thought I would like the rotating rotor bridge more as a unique design, but I wouldn't change it at all after seeing this result
WOW!! You are on another level (pun intended), best cinematic builder in SE by far. Its like watching BdoubleO100 but in SE. Love the use of colors to create depth and detail in your builds. Love your content! Keep it coming.
HOLY COW! the custom sounds are the coolest thing ive ever seen someone do for a video. youre absolutely brilliant, and im so glad i was here before 1k subs. i am just blown away by your use of color every time
I watched every single video and get so excited and inspired time after time! Love your building style and idea's, I played since the game came out and watched hundreds of video and never felt this inspired. This is pure gold! Absolutely amazing work!
dang man, i loooove the sound effects, great choice!! gives the game some life. also, the long form videos are fantastic. please don't feel like you are taking up too much of our time, we thoroughly enjoy watching all of the details! definitely don't feel like you ever have to cut something short because of the viewer.
The elevator was cool until you added the decorative things; that made it awesome. I was expecting that you'd make a platform that folds in half for the boarding ramps but your solution is sleek. Very sci-fi vibe. The cinematics and timelapses are great, too. Seems like you'd do well if you wanted to direct a sci-fi series using the game.
Speed of 3 for the rotors kinda seems a bit fast. In the end it vibrates because of the speed. Maybe you can lower the speed to make it feel a bit heavier?
Very cool! However. I feel like the drums you added as decoration, on the lift platform, would rattle around, so maybe set up some sort of bracing/containment?
13:20 (on the elevator look as well as function) if you build the platform all the way out to the sides, since the arms go BEHIND and not THROUGH the platform, you can make the 3 sides edged in angled blocks (like the slopes on the edge of a landing platform off the ground) which should match right to the edge of the arm swing area (even if you need to finish with half blocks for the arms to swing by). you can use tires (without the suspension, so they have no friction) and the arms can slide against them if needed. EngineeredCoffee did a landing pad with folding 'blast off deflectors' just for fun here, if you want to do cool looking but practical 'petals' that will keep people from falling off when the elevator is not there, and on the platform when its moving. ua-cam.com/video/JsDV-PWATX0/v-deo.html and for the bottom platform, since its got a huge step for the swing area, you can do similar to the petals above, and either do a whole floor that 'lowers' on pistons when you hit the elevator button to move, which gives room to swing past, and then raises to ground/ platform level once the elevator stops at the bottom.... OR you could do a folding 'ramp' that hinges down to allow for the elevator to swing by, then once it stops at the bottom, the petals (on the platform OR the ground landing area) to fold up to flat after the elevator stops. if you do petals, they can also keep people from going under the elevator when its up, so they dont get crushed when it comes back down, but if you do the piston floor dropping, it will have a large 'step' to keep people from driving/ walking down while the elevator is up. as for the back/ wall-side of the platform, nothing should stop it from just extending all the way to touch the ground at the top, because the arm doesnt get in the way there either. it can come to rest exactly like a mountain skylift tram where the door touches the walkway (no gaps) as it reaches the top, and then drops back down away. hope this helps! 😃 👍
I think personally that elevator is moving way too fast for its size. I would make it move at velocity 1 instead of 3 to simulate its scale for realism.
Part 2 / Troobleshooting video should come out tomorrow by lunch.

Not to be that guy but you should test out putting small grid large draw bridges that have mag plates to connect to the elevator when boarding
31:08 “something as simple as an elevator”

Wow I wouldn't have guessed that rotors could apply enough torque to support that load. Regardless, next level engineering design.
Only the rotors on the right is doing the lifting, that is some space engineers stuff!
I love your editing style, keep up the good work!
You should add a piston that retracts and expands as it goes up and down so it doesnt swing in a circle.
Yay! been looking forward to this!
here we goo
Small grid on a hinge to cut down on size using a lot of timer blocks is what I do mostly to avoid the large grids
Speed of 3 for the rotors kinda seems a bit fast. In the end it vibrates because of the speed. Maybe you can lower the speed to make it feel a bit heavier?
Yeah the speed is an issue, releasing a troobleshooting video tomorrow and its one of the main concern.
speechless... 😲👍👍

I was wondering if the tank track mod could be used for pulleys and conveyor belts ?
Only works with wheels on the same grid. 😕
@@TheBercas Oh ok. but i was thinking more for decoration to add some movement.
Why don't you use pistons to make an elevator. Then you can have multiple floors. Also what might fix your Gear problem is the track mod
