I love how the original Tardigrade bay has this borderline over-engineered retraction system while the repurposed Skeeter bays lack any bells and whistles - really helps sell the idea that they were retooled in a hurry! Amazing builds in support of cool world building as always!
The row of Skeeter bays all lined up looks really cool. Love how flush everything is for the Tardigrade bay too 💯 One possibly interesting addition to the coffee shop is a mini bartender robot. Same idea as the one in the movie "Passengers", if you've seen it.
Gotta do an action shot where all the bays are just throwing out skeeters as fast as they can. Then a "blooper" at the end showing the huge swarm driving into a grinder pit to be recycled.
Awesome episode as always! Convenient that this dropped just as I finally caught up on the whole series, too bad I'll still have to wait a week to see the tardibay in action :')
Your video’s are so inspiring, can’t wait to see this one in action. Got me thinking, you can fit up to 4x4 small grid through a 1x1 large grid door right? So a small grid welding arm on pistons could hide perfectly behind a door in the floor. Less efficient but would look so cool. Also, it is on the nose, but Engineered Coffee would be a perfect name for this coffeeshop.
I kinda like the slow showing of what SE2 will be. Every trailer will be something new to chew on. Totally agree on the nostalgia feeling. I remember when they said planets are kinda impossible. Then, poof, magic happened and SE1 became a whole new game basically. I'm looking forward for all the new surprises we'll get for SE2. Mad respect for their passion. Also, how on Earth did you tame Klang? Sometimes shared inertia works for a while, but most of the times when I try to make a ship with more mechanical parts it Klangs out at some point. It's like agent Smith is silently watching me for the inevitable.
There are some things to share and others not. Sometimes it's just trial amd error. The crane on the ceiling of the factory wanted to auto-rotate with inertial tensors on, so I had to mag plate it down. 🤷♂️
@@EngineeredCoffee Hmm Maybe I should incorporate magplates triggering the same as connectors. But at least I've started using event controllers after all these years to shut off thrusters, refilling tanks and batteries on connection thanks to you lol. This series opened up a new world for me
Any cockpit can be used to store and copy nine short programing sequences Or one 81 digit sequence Just by pressing 1 thru 9 then next page and so on while recording.
I suspect that the 25cm blocks will be placed, and not weldable. I recall seeing I think Marek mention something about welding blocks being too tedious. Paraphrasing of course.
That would actually be pretty cool. Pure conjecture, but maybe get rid of steel plates in inventory and replace with 25cm cubes. The large blocks are just an amalgamation of little 25cm blocks. 'Welding" a large block is just injecting more micro blocks...
Hey Coffee did you know you can condense all programing for moving subgrids into a recorder on the subgrid just make sure you return to waypoint 1 at the end of the sequence because it cant actually move its self.
@@EngineeredCoffee Anything you can put into your tool bar from a cockpit can be triggered while recording This helps me program thins in a fraction of the time.
How challenging would it be to make a pressurized monorail station? It might be nice for the notional employees to be able to traverse the installation without wearing a bulky protective suit. (Quick edit: now that I've gotten to the coffee shop... it would be pretty challenging to have a cup of joe in Martian atmosphere, wouldn't it?)
Might be a train, not sure. I don't want one to just be internal to the factory. But, going out to other locations sounds like a challenge. Also watching Sepherian Krayt's method got me hooked a little.
Hi. I like your videos, I just think it is a bit shame that all the things you are building you are not put in too much use. Especially you cargo storage. You should plan some use for those containers eg have them being used for loding your mining station and have trucks drive back and forward every time they are filled, or have the containers get filled with materials from your storage to be driven to outposts so it is easier for your wedding ship to get supplies. I love to see your using all of those love machine in logistic kind of way with even more of AI. Like have your wilding ship call for a containers full of plates and tubes and thae your truck delivery it and pick up the empty container to be filled up again. Just som ideas, now I don't play s.e my self so I have no idea if it is possible it is purely ideas. Thank you for your grate creations. Kasper
Fair critique, I like the idea of the mining station fill and request for pickup! Especially after the last ore drone smashed into the ground. I do want to build a ship at some point to leave the planet that holds several of the containers in the belly.
@EngineeredCoffee Thank you for replying. I have an idea for your miningstation. You will need a unloading bay, ,a small crane and two connections point a small scale of your warehouse. Then when container is almost filled the truck can deliver a new to the unloading bay, crane can the take the container and put in connection point 2 and take the filled container from connection point 1 to the truck and send the truck back. Then if it is possible you can give the truck more route request to more mining stations. Br Kasper
Beautifully designed hidden welder. Love how it all folds away. One day I'll go into making little intricate designs like this.. maybe in SE2!
That will be awesome, half the subgrids are not even for movement, just transitioning grid sizes.
it's obviously the "engineered coffee corner" :)
I love how the original Tardigrade bay has this borderline over-engineered retraction system while the repurposed Skeeter bays lack any bells and whistles - really helps sell the idea that they were retooled in a hurry! Amazing builds in support of cool world building as always!
Unintentional for sure. I just really like seeing all the armatures. Having a flat blank floor 90% of the time would be boring.
Since your on mars maybe the name of the coffee shop could Red sands cafe or Red rock roast.
Red Rock Roast is genius!
this man doesn't fear klang!
nice.. lets see what gem you bring us next
Videos like this remind me some folks are playing Space Engineers, and im over here flinging poo with my fellow monkeys.
Wonderful!
To place a block in places I can't reach I switch to "align to local grid" by toggling "B". Works every time.
The row of Skeeter bays all lined up looks really cool. Love how flush everything is for the Tardigrade bay too 💯
One possibly interesting addition to the coffee shop is a mini bartender robot. Same idea as the one in the movie "Passengers", if you've seen it.
A robot Michael Sheen sounds pretty cool! I do hope we get NPCs in SE2
@@EngineeredCoffee Maybe try a target dummy as the robot bartender, or something small grid with the emotion controler as a face.
@TiMaxlego I like the small grid emotion controller. I always forget about it.
Gotta do an action shot where all the bays are just throwing out skeeters as fast as they can. Then a "blooper" at the end showing the huge swarm driving into a grinder pit to be recycled.
@AJsarge1 great idea!
Coffee shop should be called “Next Level Engineering “ that’s what this series is so far dude. Awesome job 💪🏻👍🏻
I like that
@ or just “Next Level” 🤩
Great name : comfort coffee house.

I haven't tried it, but it's worth a shot. This seems like a funny prank setup if it works. Access door? Nope, welder to the face.
Maybe "Blueprint Brewing" or "Blueprint Brewing Company" or maybe even "Brewprint Coffee"?
Nice! :D

Hype!
Those cradles could be made to extend further, past the opened roof once the ship is complete, to deploy it while avoiding any collision dramas
@@dunneemofozilla5718 interesting idea!
Coffee shop name: The Programmed Pour
Love it!
All these suggested coffee shop names have great puns and clever wordplay... but what if it were called "Skingle's"?
Greased Goose Grab'N'Go
How about "Blueprint Coffee " Because engineers builds with blueprints and are fueled by coffee
Jitter-bug coffee corner?
Might be too long lol
you need a Microwave for the coffee shop to warm up the items that need warming :P

Skeeter Coffee sounds good TBH. Sounds fast
Coffee can give you the skeets 🤣
@@EngineeredCoffee I choose to think of the skeets as the engineers equivilant to a cats zoomies. Rather than the other albeit also funny option lol

Oh the building will have a roof, just still a work in progress. The train will probably enter a pressurized hanger before disembarking.
i thought you said you didnt want a monorail

I wonder how much more advanced you can automate things in SE2
Pretty sure there will be lots of new ways to automate things. Clang will evolve, not go away.
"Welded coffee" ?
That's a good one!
