here’s a somewhat related tip: if you are planning to drop your old phone number and get a german one, make sure to temporarily turn off multi-factor authentication on all of your online accounts. Getting locked out of your accounts isn’t fun, especially when you’re already stressed out about moving to a new country

I’m definitely putting this in the description, forgot to mention that. Thx!

Is JDCOM located in Kaiserslautern? I'll be PCSING in 3 weeks.

Signed up with JDCOM today for just internet, I have Google Fi for the phone. Rates are great, TKS on post unless you want the AFN not worth it I heard too expensive. Internet Only fist six months 19.95 e after that 39.95 + 6.95 for router box. If I need more speed extra 5 euro. Also could switch to phone plan not sure since Google Fi can work in any country, also live in Netzenburg you have more options then TKS.

Hey Daniel, what do you recommend for being there TDY for only 6 months? My spouse and I would prefer to keep our U.S. phone numbers active

Hey 👋🏾 Thx for reaching out. If you want to keep your US numbers while on TDY download WhatsApp to communicate with your wife and others in Germany via Wi-Fi. This requires no data plan. However, you could get a prepaid SIM card with a data plan if you have dual SIM card phones. This would also work if you have eSIMs. Then you wouldn’t need to get your phone unlocked. Also, try speaking with your current service provider about options. Provide TDY orders (in person if possible) to see if they can get you a temporary overseas plan.

Is it possible to get internet before you arrive in Germany?

    • @DTVDanielTelevision

Unfortunately not, you’ll need the German SIM card and an IBAN (international bank account number) to start payments. You can only get those in Germany

@@DTVDanielTelevision Thanks for all of your videos Daniel! I've been here two weeks and your videos have made the transition relatively painless! And I also got the same unlimited plan from JDCOM. Thanks again! Bill

Are Apple watches supported overseas as well?

the Exchange Mobile Center on base is the best service for me

But usually you have great service at the Telekom on base. Plus it's right there in the PX. They also have the best plans and take their time to answer questions and tell you unbiased about their options
