If I apply for a GS position in Germany, and receive a tentative offer, what is the average amount of time it takes to be wheels up? Just trying to get an idea of how long it takes before I actually start applying.

That’s tough to say. Each job has different requirements, so the transition time depends on how soon they need to fill each position. Most of the time there’s a lot of 💩 to do and a little amount of time to do it. After tentative offer, I would expect 8 - 10 weeks (but again, each job is diff, so don’t quote me) 👍🏾

Is there anything I need to do obtain my orders or is that just something that populates on its own.

If you’re active duty, you’ll need to complete your medical screening first called EFMP (search my channel for vids on that). If civilian then it’s a whole lot easier, you’ll usually get them straight from your employer. This video explains it for you

Once I get my pcs orders to Germany… how long is the Out processing process? 1-2 months or longer? Shorter?
If my report date is on 4/20/23 how early do you recommend me reporting

Good question. Out processing can take a couple months, but it really depends on your speediness and family situation. If EFMP is taken care of and you already have orders, it's all about logistics with moving out of your current home, pets, POVs and transportation. I would try to get here at the beginning of April so it gives you time to find the right home, receive your POV and UAB/HHG, and to get familiar with the area for work, kids (bus stops/school zones), and settling in to the new base (ID cards/passports, PO box, banking, etc).

My husband is a GS civilian. Do my husband and I only need fee passport we already have? Or will heneed the no fee also? Thanks.

You will eventually need a SOFA stamp/card which will be in the no fee passport and/or official passport. The official passport is most common for civilians.
However, for initial PCS travel into Germany, your orders and tourist fee passport that you already have will suffice.
Bottom line: yes, you still need to apply for the official or no fee passport 👍🏾 Hold on to the tourist fee passport though 😊

Hi Daniel , my cousin is in Germany and close friends. I am sure they would love to do some native German tours/interviews with you.😊 Also I am a government employee. Can I message you somewhere to discuss these things further? DANKE !!

I’m in the U.S. Army. I want Germany so bad!!!!! The only way I’m reenlisting is if I get Germany. That’s the only way. I know a factory back home that starts at $20.20 an hour but if I get Germany three it’ll be worth it to re-enlist.
