I think it all went wrong after Luck retired, not because of Luck. I heard supposedly the Colts knew Luck's future wasn't deep and that he was close to retiring. If that's the case, they should have either traded him and drafted Josh Allen in 2018 or kept Luck and drafted Josh Allen and began to build around him. I think we gave up too soon on Brissett, but I think this crap would have been solved if we drafted Allen instead of Nelson. Nelson is obviously very good, but the biggest issue has been the QB so.
In 2020 we had the #13 overall pick and we could’ve kept it instead of trading it for DEFO…even if we had signed Philip Rivers…he was old and only had 1 year left and now we know that but the front office should’ve seen that as a possibility…and we should’ve taken Hurts honestly but we also could’ve had Jordan Love! The decision to trade that 1st rounder and not either get a future first rounder or even just keep it to try and grab a young rookie QB was Ballard’s biggest mistake! I personally wanted us to take Jordan Love and let him learn behind Rivers at the time…Obviously now I’d rather probably have Jalen Hurts but…that is where we screwed up…I still think we find a way to draft JT…and Jordan Love or Hurts and JT would be sick
It all went south when Irsay let Manning go, not just him but that entire 2011 team. Irsay became like Jerry Jones instead of letting Bill Polin and Manning do their thing. The Colts organization went too far one way and was viewed as too mean (thanks to Pat McAfee), and overcorrected themselves when Luck retired and went far too player friendly. It may never get fixed again since it's hard to catch lightning in a bottle.
Dude I don’t know we got 3 winning seasons and playoff berths with Lucks first 3 years with literally no help around him and still developing, I think the ship truly sank in 2 games, both against the pats in 14-15. It was the game with the trick play where McAfee lined up under one dude and they became a laughing stock, and the deflategate game.
I think the biggest issue was the Colts drafted Richardson too high. He is a project quarterback who needs time like a Jordan Love had with Packers. I think if the team had better quarterback play, things would be different with the team.
He would have went to five yo Seahawks have colts hadn’t. MN also tried to trade up. It started after 21 when covid wrecked at end of season and today threw Rson to curb
They messed up, Richardson was so green he should’ve spent the first year sitting like maye and penix but no we thrust QBs into the fire like luck because we’re always desperate for success
If Irsay were in the restaurant business, his customers would be presented with undercooked chicken (ballard), dull steak knives (bradley), poor service (shane & players), and a geezer owner that does terrible karaoke for them while they dine. Jimmy's restaurant would not make it, period! Profit sharing is the only reason this city has a football team. This only changes with new ownership... that's just the sad reality (Cowboys, anyone?)!!
That 2021 season is where Reich should’ve gotten fired! Reich brought in Wentz and Wentz is what he was.. Nothing spectacular and not a total bum. That was still a solid team but poorly coached. If i were Ballard I would’ve kept Wentz, fired Reich and bring in a proven coaching staff. But instead he gets rid of Wentz, keeps Reich and Reich brings in Gus after losing Eberflus to Chicago. Big mistake because Gus is straight trash. So now we go into a year with a worse defense, a regressed O-Line; and a 200 year old Matt Ryan who had no where near the spark he once had a couple of years before in ATL.. Now at this point you fire Reich, but don’t fire Ballard??? Any other team would’ve fired him!!! Why was he still here? Then the following year you draft AR out of desperation when we had the chance to beat Carolina out of the trade and could’ve gotten CJ Stroud. Oh and on top of that; you make Steichen keep Gus??? I thought a new HC is supposed to bring in his own staff! Everything about the way this team is being ran is a complete joke!!!
Wish I could like this 500 times. Crazy how Ballard has manipulated his way into staying by firing others. Then the Wentz situation was crazy when he played really good the 1st year. Probably the beat year out of everyone else. Could've been a building year with a better coached team.
Andrew Luck quit. Also Andrew Luck took all the money and the narrative that will live forever is the organization failed Luck by not protecting him as if there is no salary cap in the NFL
IF THE 🐻 BEARS ARE LOSING WHY ARE WE THINKING ABOUT GETTING SOMEONE FROM THEIR ORGANIZATION??? YOU KNOW wHAT??? WHY NOT GIVE PEYTON MANNING A CHANCE AT THE G.M. JOB HE KNOWS FOOTBALL FOR SURE AND WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO GIVE UP ANY DRAFT PICKS??? WHAT DO YOU THINK 💬💬💬 ???

This didn’t just start with Steichen. This is a organizational issue

It’s pretty obnviois. It started in 21 when covid wrecked end of season and Irsay blew his gasket and forced Carson out.
AR could have a back surgery this off season which will delay his off season workout.

@ exactly. They used Wentz as a scapegoat when all they had to do is get rid of the coaching staff and bring in somebody competent.
Wentz beat the patriots something luck never did
is this news?
Hi Brother,HNY.
