So funny you post this right now as I'm also having a digital existential crisis as well. I used eink for years and then jumped over to an ipad mini because I also wanted a media device to watch videos on. And now ALL I do is watch videos on it because notetaking and reading just doesn't feel as nice as eink. I think I'll be slowly transitioning back to my Max Lumi 1 (which is still going very strong!) and pass off my mini 6 to my mom who has been rocking a mini 2 for the past 5 years.
While we’d all love to have The One Device to rule them all, my eyes have told me repeatedly that I need to spend less time staring at screens that shine in my face. I do that enough with my computer during the work day. This led me to pick up a Note Air 3C, and I have noticed that my eyes feel much less strained since I started using the Note on a regular basis. I try to keep my iPhone and iPad either in my pocket, on their chargers, or packed away as much as possible. My iPad, in fact, has mainly become part of my photography travel kit. My iPad and iPhone are now mainly used to watch videos when I want to pass the time. My Note has become my true productivity and reading device, thanks to the Notes feature, where I now keep my bullet journal, and the ability to load ebooks and use apps like Libby and Kobo. While I’ll never completely move away from LCD screens, having an e-ink screen device brings many more pros than cons to the table.
Completely relatable video for me, down to the fact we have the exact phone with what looks like the exact case (best case for the fold 3 IMO). I often work "in the field," meeting people in the community. I used to sync my work OneNote on my phone and would take quick notes on the phone during meetings, but then I'd get a call, get distracted by a notification, or something else would take away my focus. I switched to an ipad for work and I keep all notifications off, and I'm able to access work documents from the Office 365 account....but...I have entertainment on there too! 😂 I've been eyeing the Note Air 3C for a bit (I color code due dates, so color is a MUST for me), and keep wondering if I should take the plunge into e-ink. I know I need a light since there are times I take notes for work in darker locations, sometimes even at night. I keep coming back to your channel and realizing that this could work. For some reason, the ipad still made it hard for me to fully let go of my paper planner (discbound has always been my jam). Part of it, I think, is that the screen turns off so I'm not always looking at my to do list...it goes away. I am such an "out of sight, out of mind" person that even this small thing has affected my work flow. Color e-ink might solve this problem for me, and you may have helped me with my decision. Probably the only one, but I'd like a folding e-Ink smartphone. I'd have loved the Surface Duo even more if it had had e-Ink screens.
I had the Zfold 3 and 4. I've now switched back to a normal phone because I have the remarkable. The screen is too small and it doesn't sit flat on a table. Battery life is also another issue, you can leave a eink device on even if you don't write anything down for five minutes and because it doesn't have a backlight you're not taking a screen into a meeting.
Will you be reviewing the Daylight DC 1 livepaper tablet?
Funny cause I plan on getting the z fold 6 when it comes out (will be my first fold). And I'm starting a new job very soon where I plan on getting a supernote. I just need something to take any meeting notes or sketch some graphs for data analyzing. But now I'm wondering if the Z fold will be just enough to do these meeting notes and sketches

The problem with my Fold 5 is with the case is that smartphone means the open Fold does not lay down flat. I use OneNote and Penly on my Fold.
Hiya, yeah, I think I had that case. Now I've switched to the speigen case, it carries the pen in the side. Much better situation.
I would like to use an eink device for daily planning and calendaring (syncing with online calendar), taking quick notes, and have it side by side with the pc at office. Which device do you think would fit more this use case? Thanks a lot
For me your choice is between Supernote and Note Air 3. Ask yourself if you want full android apps or something more bespoke. 🙂
