S&M has a good bunch of these somewhat underrated songs that are incredible live in this setting. Always loved this one and Outlaw Torn and Bleeding Me are even better.
I wasn’t a fan of this album when it first came out. However, I was just 17 years old at the time and hadn’t really adjusted to the Load/Reload era. Since then, I have so much more of an appreciation for Metallica’s versatility and vulnerability to play different styles of music. They’re just so talented in that aspect.
Easily one of my favorite Metallica songs ever. Load was such an underrated album because all people wanted to see was Metallica selling out to the mainstream more than the Black album ever was. But truth be told it was the band actually expanding their horizons musically and they gained a larger audience outside of their hardcore thrash audience. This song is absolutely beautiful.
This song will always hold a special place in my heart. This was playing when I drove to and from my dad’s funeral in September of 96. Love, love the S and M sessions.
This video got me so emotional?! Rolling back the memories I was in my prime 1999 I was 21. I look back in think how lucky we were back then with some incredible music! This was ground breaking stuff back then! I love Load too that came out when I was 18! Great times great memories!
I sometimes get chills with James' last "mama" at the very end of the song. I've wondered throughout the years, how many times since his mom died when he was 16, that he yearned to say that to her. 😥
Was the greatest Metallica concert I'd ever been to and I've been to a lot lol it was to me the best of both worlds Metallica and the San Francisco orchestra 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
At first my no1 favorite was metallica one...Then I heard this song on radio, and I realize it's metallica so I use shazam app to recognize the song. And gotta say this is my no1 metallica songs.
One of my many favorites from this collaboration album. The symphony orchestra sound with this particular song…fits perfectly doesn’t even define this correctly this was how this song should’ve sounded to begin with in my opinion
R.I.P Michael Kamen. Travis and Suzi if you want to know who that is He is the conductor of the orchestra who died from a heart attack about 2 years after S&M.
3:40...In case you guys don't know, James Hetfield's mother was an opera singer! How extensive her career was anyone's guess. I get the feeling it wasn't very long.
Love your reaction to this amazing song! Maybe u want to do any reaction about a Dutch band, where I come from; “Navarone - Loud and clear” or “Navarone - Cerberus”

S&M has a good bunch of these somewhat underrated songs that are incredible live in this setting. Always loved this one and Outlaw Torn and Bleeding Me are even better.
I have the lyrics of Outlaw Torn tattooed on my arm. 🤘
I totally agree! This is probably one of my fav albums of all time.

S&M was actually me and my brother's introduction to heavy metal.
Same. I was like 13 when it came out, but as a guy in his late 30s, this the era I relate to the most.

I was at S&M 2. I bought this album back in 1999. The Kings.
I'm as old school Metallica as anyone but this will always be a top 5 Metallica song for me
I sometimes get chills with James' last "mama" at the very end of the song.

Yeahh but he is a tough guy 🤟🏼❤
Was the greatest Metallica concert I'd ever been to and I've been to a lot lol it was to me the best of both worlds Metallica and the San Francisco orchestra 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
RIP, Maestro Kamen!
One of my favorite Metallica songs, I know many hardcore metal fans don’t agree…..sorry guys, you are just wrong.
this song is criminally underrated.
Load and Reload are severely underrated.
At first my no1 favorite was metallica one...Then I heard this song on radio, and I realize it's metallica so I use shazam app to recognize the song. And gotta say this is my no1 metallica songs.
Bleeding Me from same show!! It's a must 🤘🤘
I absolutely love this song and the orchestra just elevates it further still. Hetfield sounds absolutely incredible
One of my many favorites from this collaboration album. The symphony orchestra sound with this particular song…fits perfectly doesn’t even define this correctly this was how this song should’ve sounded to begin with in my opinion
Totally love this song and this album..
Love your reactions guys. Love from Ireland
R.I.P Michael Kamen. Travis and Suzi if you want to know who that is He is the conductor of the orchestra who died from a heart attack about 2 years after S&M.
Which was the result of having Multiple Sclerosis. :(
LMAO - knead those rolls. I bet that is a totally original statement used in describing any metal vocals ever. Love ya SuziQ - you are one of a kind ❤
I was lucky enough to go to both shows for my birthday. It was unbelievable 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽
MISS MY TEENS. I WAS 19 IN 1999 WHEN S&M CAME OUT. SADLY IT WAS JASON NEWSTED'S LAST ALBUM WITH METALLICA.
My favorite song from this gig and album ♥
Metal and classical is very matched.
Oohh guys thanks this are amazing videoS for sure ! Great request and unpriceble empathy from you ! That's for sure !
Bleeding me is amazing from the same show!!!
@The Wolf HunterZ I think the reason why James sounds like he could sing just about any genre of music is because he has a very rich baritone voice.

*MAMA, THE UNIVERSITY' TEACHERS TRY AND BREAK ME!"
Jamez Pavarotti!!!!
They added post production autotune on James's voice btw that is why it sounds so clean. But still not complaining.
🤘 wow,that was fun 🌈

I'd rather they play the way they play now than not play at all.
