When I started out 35 years ago we had to be able to do most jobs on motors including wiring faults etc. The thing is, 35 years ago we was working on 1970's /80's cars that compared to now had mostly 1 fuse box, no can bus and certainly no 2 or 5 volt systems. Sparks are totally seperate entity these days and I must say, it's pure alchemy to me now. Glad I've retired in one way but miss it in another. Thanks for vid 👍🏻
I talk about this all the time, there was not a lot a garage would not be able to do,maybe head skimming or paint work but 98% of the work was done in house and there was always one lad that would be good at electrical faults, now it’s gone to specialist areas
Brilliant video determination always gets you there in the end 😂 do you have the part number for the snap on seat protector/carry bag that’s a brilliant idea
Very good,as mentionedthough, with so many bodges done i would have only taken this job on with permission first to remove every bodge and start from oe So kudos to you😊
when stripping all the dash away it was just lots of things not even plugged in, all with 12v cig lighter plugs on, I will leave them all in the back for the customer to decide how to go forward
New sub, been binging your stuff. In depth honest intresting electrical diag. If u we’re starting out now as an auto spark now, what course qualification would u do? Keep it up 🎉
Brilliant as usual Bob 👍 can you show us the strip down and rejoin of the connector in the next one never seen that before. you're a brave man I would have taken one look at all those wires and ran a mile, lucky for us we have experts like you to call 🧑🔧 jobs a carrot 🥕
Sorry just read your message can get part numbers Monday has they are written down at work if that's ok ? with you will make your job easier with the blocks & pins in one kit
Watched your vid tonight great vid still see the Landover there do you want the block and pin numbers for the blue plug ? Last one I done wanted the red & the blue plug ?
Great video - do you have the part number or name for that snap on bag/cover mat thing? Tried a quick google search but nothing the same came back! Thank you!
Another good video. Can you tell me where I can purchase the same inspection light as you have. The stick type one. It looks good quality and I don’t want another cheap one that lasts a month. Thanks
@@rmsdiagnosticsThanks but I actually meant your light that you use for working in dark areas. It has a rotary switch on it. You used it a lot in this video
I would be embarrassed to turn up and ask you to find the fault with the thing in that state. The fault obviously is the nut behind the steering wheel .
you seem to be a good diognosisist? despite what you say, those american chappies use logical processes just the same and scan tools are just a way of collecting as much info as possible so there's not that much difference.Great channel and your Barney is a cracking lad
thank you, what I was trying to get across was engines ect can give live data, wiring faults can’t, I don’t do engine running faults or dpf work and the other lads are great at it
Think that's called a cluster fuck😂😂😂😂. In a motor that has been green laning, through mud holes... always moist... water and elecrickery never mix. Brian from Birmingham probably wired that up. Was sound when it left the factory😂. These vehicles do get modified a lot... with roof lights, spot lights.. winches and all sorts. Hope you remember where to put all the self tappers🤔🥕🥕
All them wires everywhere at the beginning of the video - i’d put money on 99% of people refusing to entertain that! Hats off to you for tackling it.
it was a worrie
Great watch - thanks for taking the time to put it together 👍🏻👍🏻
no problem glad you enjoyed 🥕🥕
12:37 'There's your problem lady, the connectors full of green crusties'!
got to love the green crusties

This is why specialist garages charge so much. as you can see the amount of work you have to do to find the fault. Again brilliant video.
it’s easy now you just plug a computer in🙈🙈
Excellent video, its usually water leaks from the windscreen rubber, so I always try to have the connectors facing up, rather than down!
good idea
Love the channel, watched nearly all the podcasts, very interesting
thank you, glad you like them, jobs a carrot
Brilliant video determination always gets you there in the end 😂 do you have the part number for the snap on seat protector/carry bag that’s a brilliant idea
Another great video, well explained.
cheers mate
Excellent you don’t shy away from a graft 👍
I wish I did🙈🙈🥕🥕
Great video.
cheers again
You're the heart surgeon of the car repair business!

Nice video to show how you've found the problem 👍🏻👍🏻

Great Rob, it teaches us to go to right trade.

Great video, even better find 👍
thank you🥕🥕

we are slowly training Barney up who has been with us a couple of months and we are using www.youtube.com/@MechanicMindset

yes I will try to get a video of it 🥕👌
Love these old simple land rovers. It’s like 101 of how to start in Diag world
I’m not loving them this week😂😂
Has a auto spark myself have done many of these with burnt out multi connections eBay only great vid
thank you
Sorry just read your message can get part numbers Monday has they are written down at work if that's ok ? with you will make your job easier with the blocks & pins in one kit
@@stevereading6727 it’s all done buddy, just joined the right wires together,it’s in tonight’s vids
Watched your vid tonight great vid still see the Landover there do you want the block and pin numbers for the blue plug ? Last one I done wanted the red & the blue plug ?

Hey there, nice video! Can you tell me the artikelnummer of the snapon toolbox, love it for my daytime job ...
it’s called grab n go. thanks for watching
great design .... I wonder what upstart put that in the loom design. 😬
some carrot 🥕
Great video - do you have the part number or name for that snap on bag/cover mat thing? Tried a quick google search but nothing the same came back! Thank you!
I will ask the snap on man Tuesday for you
found it’s called grabngo
Those blocks are always a pain- usually up behind cluster & normally the ground ones that at fault
thank you
Another good video. Can you tell me where I can purchase the same inspection light as you have. The stick type one. It looks good quality and I don’t want another cheap one that lasts a month. Thanks
I would go for a power probe 3 they are well built
@@rmsdiagnosticsThanks but I actually meant your light that you use for working in dark areas. It has a rotary switch on it. You used it a lot in this video
Nice one rob. With barney doing so well wont be long until he does a case study video..... terrrahhh
yes mate it won’t be long
So there’s no way any of that would clean up? Or just better to know you’ve done it in a way that’s not going to corrode?
if it was in a better area it might be worth a try but there are many different circuits in the plug and it could cause a bigger issue,
That's a heavy bill looking at the wiring.
not going to be cheap mate
Larger current wires for the lights, going into those small pin connectors, ... why !!!! .. no wonded they melt , burn or eventually corrode.. 😊
you wait till you see me repair it with scotch locks 🥕🙈
What a mess that is 😮
the wires where not connected just laid in there but it was a worrie
Never the easy bit
nope never
I would be embarrassed to turn up and ask you to find the fault with the thing in that state.
The fault obviously is the nut behind the steering wheel .
it’s all the wire that got me,the rest is a working vehicle so not to bad
