Make sure to have someone drag you away, for the maximum effect.

"Excuse me. Do the buildings still argue?"
That's one hell of an opening line.
*Reminds me of Portal 2*
I didn’t ask for all this nostalgia but hell I’ll take it.
it was me, i was the one who asked for it. lmao
He will. And so will you.

I'll be doing the whole series. Lots of new stuff coming as well. I've been streaming a lot on twitch too so come by and say hello www.twitch.tv/davidfirth
Top class animation and smart comedy thanks mr Firth
Wot do you do on Twitch?
Thanks chief, keep it up
hello david
Is the comic saying "Thornton"? Is he from Bradford?
When the world needed him the most... HE HAS RETURNED
just watch his twitch streams he's been streaming for 2 months
Yes man do u live under a rock?
"And when the world needed the avatar most, he vanished"

Guren TGC yes but everyone has a phone with internet
😂 That "What do you charge" smash hit from UNIT C1845d still cracks me up, what a banger
Such a funny bit
"I'd like to stay but apparently I'm leaving" that's my go-to phrase for when I don't want to be excused

Hey cynic snacks I enjoy your vids
Haven't been paid yet. But when I do I'll give you some more.
Indeed perfect Cynic Snacks
Joke's on you because I can never forget "I would like to buy a kiss from you". It's one of the most memorable songs in both lyrics and tune ever.
I know what you mean - for some reason it sticks in the mind.
I would like to hear more of the same songs, but with different words...
lol!
It is entirely possible that David Firth will not post again for 8 months

Don’t matter he streams now on twitch !!!
Checkmate! He did post again

David would love to stay and make some but apparently he's leaving
The description literally says this was MADE FOR THE BBC WHAT
you should see what else he made for them. they literally aired jerry jackson cartoons
@@Lifesizemortal they're quietly sweeping it under the rug.
@@Lifesizemortal yet they cancelled the Peter Serafinowics show
Not *that* kind of BBC, lad.
Yeah, David made a lot of cartoons for the BBC back in the days. In fact, they did a lot of UA-cam comedy/weirdness stuff (Ashens also did a few videos for them, for example).
I love his locust toybox works but "I would like to buy a kiss from you" is one of the catchiest songs david has ever made
I'd like to take a stroll in Mr Firth's mind. I admire his works so much.
You should watch Chris morris’ jam, I’m convinced that’s what Mr Firth’s dreams are loke
Sock series are literally based on his dreams. But weird dreams are normal.
@Noboru when salad fingers 🥗 was at it's peak in popularity, he was featured in a little mini- doc where he kinda does dive into his mind, even shows his room where the walls are covered in his art and story boards. It's funny cuz the video starts with him sitting in this creepy ass abandoned house, horror movie- worthy creepiness xD and apparently (but not surprisingly) it's where he gets a whole lot of his inspiration from, including the textures for the background art in his earlier videos. It's just fascinating. I'll go ahead and link it below, I sure wish he would do more of those documentaries about himself. He really is an enigma of a man, and I fucking love it xD I've been following everything he does/ makes since I was 11 years old!! (I'm 24 now) and I still consider him my FAVORITE animator!! His videos really helped shape who I have become, starting from such a young age. Inspired so much of my own love for art, and taught me how to not take things at face- value. Everything is much deeper than it seems, and is actually never as it seems. Question, everything!!!
His mini- documentary:
ua-cam.com/video/wARTupdJVW8/v-deo.html
It might be darker in there than you find comfortable
I dive into my own mind all the time.
I had no idea how dangerous that can be.
I wouldn't want to destroy Earth, but I'm not going to stop.
Ok
Yikes
Do your cells *also* kick you in the shin? Mine have been doing that since I was 7.
Oh hell yesss. Was fun bullying you whilst you worked on this, david! 😄

Hell yeah! I remember watching the original when I was a wee lad on Newgrounds.
The original to this was a BBC short for their website, way after the Newgrounds days
I must be thinking of something else then.
I think it was up on the BBC website or something. I remember it not loading properly, and hearing the line "nope... This is not happening" as the paint tin gets smacked over and over while I tried to get it to start loading again.
@@4Pssf2w no dude, these ppl are all wrong. I'm the biggest David firth fan, and I can tell yippy he was indeed on Newgrounds for a very long time, he was actually one of the FIRST animators to have a video go extremely viral (salad fingers series); and actually, that was where he initially started posting his videos, until UA-cam and etc.
* The BBC commissioned David to make short animated films for their website-
I think its so funny when ppl think they know SO much, but in reality it turns out they have no fucking idea what their talking about
Damn, at 24 I still ask people if they have watched the "Salad Fingers" series 🤣
While I am glad that Drillbithead is back and remastered, I still remember the way it originally was, with the sound design, opening with it sounding industrial like and hear the buildings talking when you see them. It feels a bit weird seeing it like this now.
yes i agree. and does anyone get reminded of portal 2 at several points?
"I would like to buy a kiss from you" full length song when? Lmao
I want that too
Finally! Even if its just a remaster, more Drillbithead!
2:18 i love the smoothness of that joke.
"These aren't yours.... They're too narrow"
I absolutely love this series. I'm stoked to see them being remastered and I can't wait for anything new. Until then I'll keep binge watching everything on UA-cam and Umbilical World
0:19. Sounds like GladOS.
Sounds like a vocaloid to me
That's... honestly the most civil way I've seen in a long while to wrap up a conversation like that.
"Excuse me, do the buildings still argue?"
"My parents are buildings?"
Haven't even started and I'm still scared
I'm really glad you're remastering these I would be even happier if you made more everyone seems to heap so much praise over salad fingers that I feel a lot of your other creations get ignored. Drillbit was always my favorite.
Drillbithead was how I introduced my little sister to David's work. We still quote it all the time.
THIS MAKES ME FEEL NOSTALGIC LIKE NOTHING IVE EVER SEEN BEFORE. And nostalgic for something I dont even know...The accent, the scenes, Ah!
After all these years, the buildings still argue? Fair enough.
Also, the whole "automated music" gag was years ahead of its time. The guy who did Ben Drowned recently had an AI write a theme-song for the titular Ben, and it produced a hauntingly beautiful short piece that reminded me of Gwyn, Lord of Cinder.
1:52 the "ass people", common species living in this kind of animations
Seeing a new upload from you brightened my day so much. Drillbithead was always one of my favs!
"Are the buildings still argue?" Perfect line, for making people confuse. XD
C1845D, underrated musician
"I'd love to stay but apparently i'm leaving" I must remember that line to get out of a conversation I'd rather not be in
guess its time for my monthly watch of every single david firth video
Forgot about this until the notification just now, absolutely stoked. Love your work, friend.
They're all so polite to each other even if they misunderstand each other.
‘It’s just my mouth, I think’ I felt that at a microscopic level

2020: "... what?... I can make good things too!"
First a new Jerry Jackson and now a Drillbithead HD version? The nostalgia is kicking in.
My favorite series of yours! Thank you!
I'm glad you're not only reuploading these, but remastering them too! I noticed BBC took them off of their UA-cam channel.
This right here--> is the most beautiful and scary thing Everyone’s seen is so good and terrifying at the same time this will be the animation of the year
Ok

Wow, my favorite series is back in the mix, to be frank, I’m not sure how I survived without it in my bloodstream for this long 🤩
Have had "I would like to buy a kiss from you, I don't have much, I don't have much, seriously I don't have much, haven't been paid yet" for years and years
This is the progression of the Laurie Anderson talkbox-sound from the beginning of her career! I love it!
I feel like I just watched a dream. I missed this series.
When we getting a full version of "I would like to buy a kiss from you."?
Can’t wait for new stuff finally. Love your work please keep it up.
one of my *favorite* uploads by David Firth. 10/10 I still reference many of these lines, years and years after watching the original
I'm proud to say that this is a compilation of annoying references I commonly use.
"Do the buildings still argue?"
"I'd love to stay, but I'm leaving apparently"
"You didn't really answer my question, but I learnt some lovely new words."
Actually, I shouldn't be so proud of that.
This is my favorite channel name and photo
@@aidanflanigan9532 you missed out, mate :(
@@PuresG1ft You all deserve to be as miserable and pathetic as that tin of paint. Cry. Go on then, cry.
I love how the paint can has a borderline Bolton accent
Drillbit is for some reason is my favorite of your cartoons. It is bizarre, but it is interesting. It is witty, and it is very much like a dream. So thanks for this.
Love your work, dude. This one brings me back.
Glad we're getting so much firth lately :)
Lovely, though I do miss the sounds of the buildings arguing
“Well, you didn’t really answer my question there, but i did learn some lovely new words so thank you.” I wish human interaction was as wholesome as that.
I always find myself coming back to your drill bit head animations so I'm happy to see this!

Remastered? That's a brilliant idea! Hellooooo worrldddd! I'm here! I'm ready!
Tried watching all the episodes a few weeks ago only to see it was completely removed from UA-cam. So glad to see this series back and looking even better than before, thanks so much! :D

I really love this series. It's so dream-like and oddly sweet. I'm so glad to see it's getting remastered.
This was such a blast from the past lmao..Can’t wait for the new stuff!
I really love David's ambients. All gray and lonely...but at the same time they bring me peace
I admire your art for years and always wanted to introduce my art into the world of animation. Finally I've had. Thank you being such an inspiration and for creating and sharing such mesmerizing art.
I absolutely love the Drillbithead series. So glad to be experiencing it again
Bless you David. We missed you. I love your shop. I will surely buy a thing or two
An absolute treat, thank you David
Wow! It's great to see this, (& eventually the other episodes), on your main channel! I like the little changes you've made, like the soothing music through most of it, and the improved explosion of earth at the end.
Nearly 10 years ago I started uni and was quite depressed. Somehow I found great comfort in these cartoons and to this day I still don't really understand why. Bittersweet, seeing this again.
Love it! Keep up the great work David
I love this series, so glad it's being remastered.
Woah it's amazing that you actually remastered this gem, it looks so nice!
nice we get to see it in all of it's HD goodness
I always love your vision. Such a great mind you have.
Love your work !! And your brain ! :) never cease to amaze me

Oh man, this video always fascinated me. I'm glad you brought it back in glorious HD.
Also the song "I would like to buy a kiss from you" is a straight up banger
Holy shit I have an upload from Cyriak a little bit ago, and now an upload from Sir David Firth?? I am truly blessed.
DRILLBITHEAD! One of my favorite series from you! So glad to see these in their full glory.
I absolutly love Drillbithead and it would be fantastic to see new material featuring the philosophical chap.
your videos have been some of my favorite on the internet, could watch salad fingers over and over again any day
This is just lovely
That is one hell of an incredible video.
The final part was somehow quite relatable.
(Great job, David!! I missed your animations a lot!)
