Without any explicit explanation needed, this *felt* like a pilot for a great new series. I really wish it had been created. All the pieces were in place. The premise was intriguing and the chemistry between the actors was perfect. Even now, I feel like there should be a few seasons of "lost episodes" out there somewhere. Alas, it is only a feeling I have, contrary to all facts.
Instead of doing voices, he should have gotten the Enterprise to shoot down the missiles. Also, Spock left a mini phaser on the cabinet just before Scotty beamed them up. Big no no. Given how sloppy the federation was leaving advanced tech around a bunch of primitive Yankees, it's no wonder we won the cold war. Thanks, Spock.
@@johcafraJames Doohan and Major Barrett (Mrs Roddenberry) saved animated series tons of money by performing most extra voices. Nichelle and Takei even play few extra characters.😊

Despite the cheese, TOS still works in some episodes! "Assignment: Earth" is actually one of the more suspenseful episodes, and a good one at that almost 50 years later!
