I love redraws like this because there's such a dramatic difference after 8 years of experience! The new sprites look great; values are on point, and I love the SF Alpha influence. I also admire you taking the time to create the background, it really elevates the drama for the combination of poses you selected and shows how far you've come 😁 btw I had no idea you were running a community challenge for redraws; I think I inadvertently submitted my entry with my previous video 😅

An easy tip for static poses is to draw a vertical line downwards from the head and see if it's off-center or not. The opposite works well to suggest motion/instability (character fallong etc.)

How do you work on pieces like these? Every time I start a big piece I do well, but when I take a break I lose all motivation to finish said piece and work on another one, leaving me with lots of unfinished works
Yeah it can be difficult, I think you have to build up to big pieces because they can be demotivating. Finishing work is an important skill in itself, so if you struggle finishing things, just reduce the task so you can get it done. You'll learn much more from finishing a piece than not, so start small with projects and build your way up. For me, a lot of it comes down to discipline as well, I typically only work on one thing at a time, I take regular breaks but this forces me to finish it because I know I can't start anything else until it's done.
