Especially if you take other open world games that look and run like shit in comparison where devs or publishers like to say, well it isn’t possible because open world. HFW already showed what this console can do. The same should be true for XBSX and yet we get games like redfall on release with 30fps. A pro system would only enable lazy and incompetent devs to keep doing what they’re doing. And it’s the same on PC as well. You basically need a 4080 if you want to run a game maxed out in 4K and you’ll still need DLSS or FSR to reach 60fps.
Insomniac somehow pumps out top quality games every single year. Don’t know how they do it, and they said they don’t crunch. Incredibly talented people over there. Can’t wait to see their Wolverine game.
It's another Spider-man title with the foundation already there from prior titles going back to 2018 last gen with the original hence the quick turnaround. Wolverine will be a better indication

Not only good hdr is possible but also very good visuals with high quality Ray tracing and awesome performance all at the same time is possible but it takes competent devs like insomniac to prove what’s possible on PS5 while so many other devs push out unfinished, and unoptimized low resolution games with bad performance and pass it off as a hardware limitation instead of taking responsibility for their lack of performance optimization not pushing the hardware

Maybe it's just me but on an LG CX, a lot of scenes feel super washed out. Had to bump the contrast up to 60-65. Also, a bit of a shame that the game uses so little of the HDR colorspace, considering it's a colorful superhero game set in a vibrant, comic-book-ey NY. Could truly pop if they unleashed a bit there. Otherwise, pretty happy though.
@@hunderobuff5418 HGiG is just the tv with all tone mapping turned off. It's meant to be used when you have games like Spider-man 2 that follow the proper hdr calibration in the ps5's settings. That said, it's all preference vs reference. Different people have different tastes.
@@Legenkilla yeah I have the CX and have been playing Spider-Man 2 a lot. I definitely feel it’s too dim so I just use DTM. Normally I’m an advocate for hgig and use it often, but it seems to make everything dim on my end, including the bright highlights which normally with hgig would stay bright.

If you turn on the 120hz to auto in the game menu, then you DO get raised black levels unfortunately, I have a LG C1 & this is very evident, The frame rate is super smooth but you get a washed out picture. If you turn 120hz off then it looks beautiful.
Ok, for me the early section looked washed out but after that bit & bumping up the in game contrast to 60 it looks amazing, I think the sandman effects in the world were making everything look washed out, once that sequence is resolved it looks AMAZING !!! On my LG C1, it looks flawless: Fidelity - 120hz Auto - uncapped GORGEOUS! Also the game is Amazing !

I tried setting up hdr with dtm off and then switched to hgig (as you had recommended for spiderman miles morales or ratchet and clank rift apart) and it looks better compared to setting up in hgig. Can you please check it on your lg cx and recommend the best settings?
Game looks so much better imo with hgig off and tine mapping on just like Mirage. Too dull looking on hgig it always looks like evening or dusk otherwise. Also do you play on cool or warm 2 or what?

The hdr in spider man 2 is really good, but I feel like the default settings for brightness and contrast look too washed out imo. I personally set brightness to 50 and contrast max to 100 and it made the game look more alive than ever. It might not be accurate, but it’s my personal opinion. Yes, I agree you should use hgig for this game. Dtm looks too bright imo.

@@andyjefferson1308 I upgraded from a 65” E9 so the 77” G3 is 2x as bright and larger plus 1400 nits so that’s a big leap. Regardless You should see a nice boost in HDR pop.

Now that you have the hdr measurement equipment, could you do the hdr analysis on the rdr2 again? That seems very wrong with 250 paper white. When looking at the sun rise, you lost too much of the clouds details. I've been using 130, which is the recommended paper white for gta v following hdtvtest measurements, but it seems very dark in rdr. Thanks for work, keep it up!

How do find the picture Oled vs qled? I’m on a 65 CX and love it but it’s my first oled and tv of this size. I always read some people prefer oled, some qled but the vids I’ve seen on YT leave me without answers. Perhaps because of compression.
@@Lock2002ful For me I prefer brighter, the contrast and deep blacks of an oled are great but for me the impact of HDR is in brightness. Oled is more a universal benefit, it's better for SDR while being solid for HDR. Also, the Qled in my room is also used as a PC monitor, I mainly bought it cause its safer. But still when it comes to content I enjoy the brighter potential image of the QLED is what I prefer. It's a bit of a double edged sword cause it's often very obvious when content isn't reaching it's potential. But when content reaches it's potential it is consistently stunning. Like FFXVI is something that consistently had me watching with my jaw dropped. And certain other things that aren't just bright in HDR but colorful is the kind of thing i'm constantly on the search for and why I'm passionate about HDR in general. A little local dimming bloom never really hurt any content for me, it's usually just something I might see when a loading icon is on the screen or something. But the best of both worlds would be a 10% 1500nit+ Oled

Dank deinen Tipps, die auch wirklich Hand und Fuß haben, zocke ich immer mit der besten Bildqualität. Muss aber zugeben, das ich Spiderman 2 im 40FPS/120Hz Modus spiele, der wirklich verdammt gut ist. Kommt vom Inputlag fast an den 60FPS/60Hz Modus ran.
The game looks perfect the way it does with the colour space it uses. All this whining about colour space😂, play it how the creator intended it to be played and enjoy the good story.
Have you had a chance to go back and test Spider-Man Remastered on the PC recently? From the videos I’ve watched earlier this year, the game had issues with raised black levels. I just did some testing with the game with an HDR analysis tool and the minCLL shows up as 0 nits. Would that mean that the black level issue has been fixed? Nice gonna play it this weekend on my CX 65" because my G3 77" showed crazy vertical banding last week so they gonna replace it under warranty (it was insane). The CX almost has no Vertical Banding after years of gaming on it in my gaming room. But also have a PS5 in the living but was bothered with the banding. Great 2 see that the HDR is excellent.
I have a Sony A84L that supports automatic hdr tone mapping as it’s a Sony product. Would you recommend I still adjust the hdr settings via your link I go with the Sony auto tone mapping?

@@GamingTech-UA-camwhat about the SDR picture, I have the 2019 LG B9 OLED and I’m sure it’s the game or my tv or the system but when I play both the spider man remastered and miles morels game when I got to the hdr calibration in the system and raise the sun symbol until it barely visible, I do that and exit and go back it really good but then when I turn the game and the in the system go and turn off the hdr and put back normal SDR picture the game now so blown out and way to bright for some reason I don’t what’s wrong theses two spider man games there the ps5 version of it and for hdr calibration have on dtm on. I have to say I'm disappointed, I have a 4k TV that definitely has true HDR10 but it's always been terrible, except on Miles Moralis, GoW Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West. It doesn't support VRR or 120hz and Insomniac basically said it's going to look like a blurry mess in performance mode and run like a slide show in Fidelity. Not everyone's got 1500 to spend on a TV.
I get it my friend. I went in debt with my tv. I said screw it and add to cart. You can get a good vrr 120 oled for a grand now on sale, smaller size. Affirm it for 600 easy payments of 29.99 for 65 inch. lol

Not to hate on Starfield, but Todd Howard said it was a next generation title and I really can´t se that if you compare it to Spider-Man 2.

This is not an issue on the C2 or C3
This is a C1 Problem. You have to reconect your HDMI Cable. Look in your PS5 Picture Settings. HDCP should be 2.3

The Oled brightness in HDR should always set to the max. Contrast as well. Brightness/black level is 50

Those spikes are just rounding errors. This is caused by temporal Antialiasing. The Maxcll there is 1000 solid

@@GamingTech-UA-camwhat about the SDR picture, I have the 2019 LG B9 OLED and I’m sure it’s the game or my tv or the system but when I play both the spider man remastered and miles morels game when I got to the hdr calibration in the system and raise the sun symbol until it barely visible, I do that and exit and go back it really good but then when I turn the game and the in the system go and turn off the hdr and put back normal SDR picture the game now so blown out and way to bright for some reason I don’t what’s wrong theses two spider man games there the ps5 version of it and for hdr calibration have on dtm on. Please someone reply to this I don’t understand why this is happening?!?
Should the HDR Calibration change the SDR picture or it that completely separate it does when I play both spider man games the ps5 versions, like for example it higher the HDR calibration up until the sun symbols to barely visible and exit the screen and then turn the hdr off and the I start the game again, i see it right away the picture so blown out and I can’t see any of the details on screen it’s like the still thinks it’s in the HDR picture because it brightness everything up but it’s not anymore I turn off the hdr in the PlayStation 5 system so I don’t know why it does this!?!

Don’t use HGIG on 800 nits tv. It looks like trash. He plays on 1000 nits tv and then recommends HGIG. Didn’t even touch 800 nits tv or tested it.

I have to say I'm disappointed, I have a 4k TV that definitely has true HDR10 but it's always been terrible, except on Miles Moralis, GoW Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West.
It doesn't support VRR or 120hz and Insomniac basically said it's going to look like a blurry mess in performance mode and run like a slide show in Fidelity.
Not everyone's got 1500 to spend on a TV.
I get it my friend. I went in debt with my tv. I said screw it and add to cart. You can get a good vrr 120 oled for a grand now on sale, smaller size. Affirm it for 600 easy payments of 29.99 for 65 inch. lol
