As bad as it sounds, I don't believe UK doctors are paid enough for the amount of work they do. For example the US, Australia, New Zealand and Canada have averages far higher and nurses in the NHS have salaries which aren't too far off to junior doctors. This is probably because the UK is more socialist than the countries mentioned above.
I wonder why people are upset when doctors who study hard and have a high pressure job, make a lot of money. they don't mind when women show their bodies for a lot of money.

Bruh knee replacements cost like 4-5k privately and the operation takes a few hours. Orthopaedics could be doing a few of those a week and make 50k a month. I think the highest paid salaries has doubled from the 20 year old paper you listed.

@@faithlesshound5621 I agree, The reason I asked this question was to get a better understanding of why people chose consultancy over GPship. You didn't mention Anesthesia doctors at all ? Is there any information about their income nhs and private ?? And what about overseas doctors coming to the uk , what should they expect ?
A doctor saving lives working ridiculous hours with zero social life will earn 40k a year, then a footballer partying all the time will earn 100k per week. Pathetic. Doctors deserve SO much more than what they get.
The problem is the amount of actual doctors worth their weight in gold, is few and far between Especially when it comes to GP's here in the UK I have no idea who is training these GP's, but they are beyond incompetent at this point. Their knowledge pool when it even comes to pathophysiology, human physiology, the names/side effects of the own medications they prescribe, is utterly terrifying Good for nothing more than recklessly misdiagnosing everything as "anxiety" if basic blood work comes back clear. I mean you might be suffering POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) but hey you've got normal basic blood work and I don't have a brain to have any sort of capacity to think to your symptoms lol Take a generic prescription for an SSRI citalopram, and here we'll chuck you some stomach acid inhibiting medication as a bonus to neutralize your stomach acid, so all sorts of acid depenent, methylation important nutrients such as vitamin B12 are poorly absorbed and make you a little bit more dependent on that SSRI for mood lol
@@TheNaturalHealthBlogger … and you do have a point! 6-7 years ago I was misdiagnosed with a “cardiac event” (heart attack) in some A&E I won’t name … I was petrified I’d have to spend the rest of my life on lettuce leaves (when I do enjoy a rather “rich” diet 🤣), and give up on my decent drinks 🍷🥂. @@missiongamer4494 OK so I searched it up for you. Firstly, you'd have to be a senior manager of a company of some kind eg vice president of engineering. Also, there are some medical professions (usually surgeons) that pay really well. Also some professions in law such as judges but it would take years of experience to get to this rank. Also other professions such as aircraft pilots and flight engineers. i am only 14 but i have been watching your videos back to back as i aspire to be a doctor in the future!! Please tell me more about what grades I need for my GCSEs to be in a good position when applying for unis. TYYY
Thanks man, that’s awesome! Do your best, as many A/A*s as you can get
Its nice to see that at your level you are already interested in becoming a doctor. Keep at it . Work hard and get as many A's currently .
@@Drzeezy But don't forget about sport, the arts and charity work. You have to give evidence of community involvement as well as brains when you apply to medical schools.
A levels matter most, the core subject is chemistry. Try to get all A stars in all 3 / 4 subjects. Most top uni will need you to pass the UCAT test. You will not be given an interview even if you obtain all A levels with A stars if you fail the UCAT Test ( some uni don’t require UCAT) On top of that it will help if you did some charity or related volunteer work. Good Luck .. apart from that it’s a walk in park
Please can you make a similar content about Health care managers or administrators in the UK.
If the information is accessible then yes for sure!
What is this surgical core training u mentioned? I understood that after med school I can do Foundation Year 1 and 2 afted which I can apply for specialty. No?
Yes, but do to most surgical specialities you need to do core surgical training first. Eg you do 2 years of ‘core surgical’ and then do T&O, Urology, General surgery further training after that
Great video Dr Kiran . Love the video
Thanks dude
Thank you for making this
See what they get in the US.
Hey kiran
Really appreciate the video
Wanted to ask if u could make/update ur video regarding the earning of junior doctors in the UK on average…
The payscale given by NHS is available online …. And there will always be the addition of night shifts and out of hour shifts etc
But how about making a video explaining possible earning with locums and potential hours of locum which could be managed by people ….
And any other side hustles which could be managed in this time for extra earning in the UK for doctors?
Thanks
How can one practice in UK if they have done there MBBS from India, Apart from giving MRCP?
As far as I know don't think there is any other way, sorry.
Pass Plab
The highest paid doctor is technically Ali Abdaal who earned more than 1M net for year 2020 through UA-cam, and other online income streams. Didn't take 10+ years to get that figure.
Hahaha true but I don’t think it counts for the lists here
So how is there £500k for highest paid considering they’re on NHS? Obvs you said the speciality wasn’t specified but how?!
Honestly I don’t know, maybe some sort of leadership role/dean?
The older you get the more you are experienced the more you get paid. And the lesser time you have then to enjoy that money. 😬🤦♀️
Hey Kiran! That is soo kind of you
Not everyone tells the info so detailed
Could you tell me how to become a neurosurgeon?
Thanks Jasleen, you’d need to go though surgical speciality training
Good
Sir if a doctor earns 1million pounds a year how much he has to pay for overhead and taxes? Nice video.
Take home pay would be around £540,000
@@Kiran.Morjaria dats why I dont bother.
@@fairfacttv8175 🤣
High earners are likely to have taken steps to reduce their tax liability, which they don't have to tell us about.
I have a quick question, does the core training ST1and ST2 count from the speciality training years or not ?
Yes
@@Kiran.Morjaria Thank you🙏🏽
Your video popped up, I watched and loved it! Subscribed straight away. Your honesty is so brilliant 🥰
Thanks Katie! These are the comments I love
Great video man 🔥
Thanks Gabriel!
Right its time for me to go work at whatever street you just mentioned
Great video!
Thanks for the visit
can you do a video on physician associates and doctors. I think it would be very interesting for people to watch
Sure, what do you want to know?
@@Kiran.Morjaria your opinion of them.
Their roles and like differences between them and doctors. And job security and popularity and if its actually worthwhile to study it, or will it be useless in future
Before this even starts I’m expecting my GP to show up.
Great videos.👍👍👍👍
Thanks 😁
Hey bro does the nhs consultants works as private consultants also? If they work then is earning £100k a year by private practice possible for a new nhs neurologist consultant?
They can also work privately!
Very interesting video once again!
Thank you!
Can a medical student after completing training can practice in private sector??
No you need to have finished training
Ok.
Thank you for the reply.
Whatever doctors get, they deserve it all and even more. They learnt hard for their degree and they continuously learn. Let alone what most of them have to deal with on a daily basis. What is outrages is how underpaid and undervalued the nurses and healthcare assistants are. Thank you for another great video.
Thank you, I really appreciate you taking the time to comment!
What will be the in-hand salary post tax?
Depends, but probably around 50% of that
That was really informative! ❤
Thanks Samar
Nice information ❤❤❤
I see ..theres a lot of work going on with the video ..great job 👍👍 keep goin
Thank you!
And they say there’s no gender pay gap
If IMG comes to england with a whole year of internship, which place he is gonna get in NHS.
Fy2 or CT1?
Non training
Bruh knee replacements cost like 4-5k privately and the operation takes a few hours. Orthopaedics could be doing a few of those a week and make 50k a month.
I think the highest paid salaries has doubled from the 20 year old paper you listed.
Probably true, but couldn’t find anything more recent! It’s a bit of a taboo thing writing about private pay it seems
a Consultant's salary can go up to £100,000 gbp I looked it up GP's are better paid than Consultant's
In France there is also something like private and public practioner.
The private 's one charge much money as fees
That’s interesting!
As a final year medico, this video motivated me a lot. Thanks bro 😁❤️
Glad to hear it!
I have a question if GP training is short and a GP makes same amount of money as consultant or in some cases even more money than consultants then why do people even consider becoming a consultant? Answers will be highly appreciated thank you
Interest in certain fields!
If you want to get rich quickly, medical school is probably not the way to go.
@@faithlesshound5621 I agree,
The reason I asked this question was to get a better understanding of why people chose consultancy over GPship.
Becoming rich quickly isn't easy. everyone works hard no matter what their profession is, sure some people become billionaires and millionaires while they are in their 20s but majority of the people have to work for many years before they can attain a certain level of wealth at which they can be Labeled as rich
You didn't mention Anesthesia doctors at all ? Is there any information about their income nhs and private ??
And what about overseas doctors coming to the uk , what should they expect ?
I hope you would answer my questions
There is no change in wage just because you are from overseas. Anaesthetists were not specifically mentioned in these reports that I looked at
A doctor saving lives working ridiculous hours with zero social life will earn 40k a year, then a footballer partying all the time will earn 100k per week. Pathetic.
Doctors deserve SO much more than what they get.
Appreciate it!
Doctors take lives.

Aren't there consultant jobs in the NHS that pay like £100 an hour.
Locum jobs, yes
Im surprised bariatric surgeons aren't on the higher earnings list
There you go again with an another outstanding video

If someone do FY1 at uk , do they need to pay any amount to the hospital they work???
They may need to pay for their accommodation, and certainly will for meals and car parking.

For the exam just focus on NCERT you'll definitely make it through.

How does one get into the UK to practice medicine from the DR.
Is it easy to register for foreign Physiotherapist for hpsc registration? After that is it easy to get job and work visa from NHS?
Hi ,
If I complete my MBBS & internship in india and then move to UK for pg then I should do both fy1 and fy2 or only fy2??
Please reply....
U cant go into foundation after doing internship, i think u have to apply for standalone fy2 posts, but i dont know how easy they are to get

Very interesting video. Thank you! Any good and honest doctor is worth his/her body weight in 24K gold. They save lives.
Thanks Luca!
The problem is the amount of actual doctors worth their weight in gold, is few and far between
Especially when it comes to GP's here in the UK
I have no idea who is training these GP's, but they are beyond incompetent at this point. Their knowledge pool when it even comes to pathophysiology, human physiology, the names/side effects of the own medications they prescribe, is utterly terrifying
Good for nothing more than recklessly misdiagnosing everything as "anxiety" if basic blood work comes back clear. I mean you might be suffering POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) but hey you've got normal basic blood work and I don't have a brain to have any sort of capacity to think to your symptoms lol
Take a generic prescription for an SSRI citalopram, and here we'll chuck you some stomach acid inhibiting medication as a bonus to neutralize your stomach acid, so all sorts of acid depenent, methylation important nutrients such as vitamin B12 are poorly absorbed and make you a little bit more dependent on that SSRI for mood lol
Thankfully, a privately arranged assessment by a top London Consultant Cardiologist seen in private clarified I never suffered with a heart attack 🙏🏻

How good is a salary like 70-80k per year for living in England?
Average salary in the UK is around 25k - 32k per annum, so this salary is pretty good. However, for the amount of studying, hours and work doctors do, they are being underpaid especially when you consider how much debt they are in after leaving university.
@@expurtlaygos5566 What are the professions which usually make more than doctors in Uk?
Like in America doctors are pretty much the highest earners in the country
@@missiongamer4494 OK so I searched it up for you. Firstly, you'd have to be a senior manager of a company of some kind eg vice president of engineering. Also, there are some medical professions (usually surgeons) that pay really well. For example, orthodontists, dermatologists, neurologists, cardiologists, orthrapedics - all avareage at 100k per annum. However, I wouldn't recommend going into these solely for the money. Also some professions in law such as judges but it would take years of experience to get to this rank. Also other professions such as aircraft pilots and flight engineers. I would say, to get realy rich in the UK you either need to be the CEO of a big company or go into a well paid profession eg biochemistry.
@@missiongamer4494 If you want to make a lot of money I would suggest teaching yourself how to invest and make a lot of money from it. Look at tricks used by the world's richest people that can be found in books and online. They will teach you how to make money rather than just to get money. This will make you a lot of money without years of university and experience and also in a shorter amount of time. Don't go into a career they takes a lot of studying just because it is good pay, you will be severely disappointed because the money will not be worth it.
@@expurtlaygos5566 Cheers pal.Do you live in England?
Why do females get fewer than males? This literally has nothing with gender it’s about how experienced and good you are at your job :/
Agreed
What about dentists, do they earn similar money or less?
It depends, in general I would say dentists earn more but at the top end it’s pretty similar
A junior doctor with just a mbbs degree can take specialist training after his foundation program??!
Yes.
7 years training roughly 70k pounds in student loans plus extra accommodation if you can get top dollar then why not you put in 7 years of your life then you got my respect
A medical degree course should only take 5 years.
Why is it always knee surgery and hip fracture in private
Good vid dude
