When I was younger I would go to the family farm and help my Uncle over summer holidays. The farm was in a very dry terrain and the ground was as hard as the ground you are digging in. When it was time to go fix fence and dig new holes to put posts, it was always my job to dig the hole... the trick is water... moisten the ground first and let it seep deep, then start removing the mud which is much easier than fighting the solid ground! Hope this helps you in the future holes.

I have a silly question. Why don't you wear leather work gloves when you are digging? You would still hit your hands but you wouldn't cut them or get blisters. I cringe everytime you hit yourself. Love your videos and seeing a woman prospector on her own. YOU GO GIRL!

  • @craigedwards6016

    Well done..
Suggestion to make digging those deeper holes in near concrete dirt.. using some of your grey water to soak the hole... I would think that would make it a bit easier, and who doesn't like playing in a bit of mud given the possibility of a few frosty snappy pots once the job is done...🍻
    Great work and congratulations.

Holy cow that was a nice little chunk you got but that was a big chunk that he got right at the very end. Nice video though I like the enthusiasm and the energy that you put into digging that hole. One hell of a deep hole. I bet with the ground as hard as it looks, it must have taken like 6 hrs. I would have been egausted. Great job and great video keep it up.

Next time you find a big nugget go to the nearest hardware and buy a Honda 2000 generator and a electric portable jackhammer. save your back and hands from digging 😛

You need several other tools, a heavy straight bar with a point would be ideal. You also need a battery operated jack hammer and a strong man

..you need a heavier hammer for chisel work.also, wrap the handle some to reduce injury to your hand. I am wondering, would a bit of water in the hole help ?

Why don’t you use a cordless drill with a wood bid on it to help borrow through the hard, compact sand?

You need to invest in your own portable jack hammer and get a few different points.
