- I have finally broken my Gold Record! The old record was set years ago and I haven’t found many big gold nuggets or gold specimen since. The gold found in this hole we dig into cap rock tops it all of my previous gold finds - Record Gold!

The biggest piece Ive ever found weighs 5.4g
I remember that day, probably one of my most memorable so I can only imagine your exhilaration at finding that weight in Oz (and I suspect a bit more yet to come from the fines)
Its such an addictive hobby and so rewarding in more ways than one

You deserve it. Been working hard. Glad you got help. I found an outcrop in Georgia in rock spent the day busting rocks. Wasn't soft so I figured it was fools gold.

That reminds me of a day in 1999 when a friend "stan" found a gold specimen weighting at 1,2kg.The estimate of the gold content was +- 600grams as the specie was not dollied up.He gave me a piece of 10grams as souvenir who had broken off when he hit it with the pick, which I still have in my collection.It was a quartz and gold specimen with nice gold sticking out on the outside.
So your your day reminds of that special day but with less hard work as the specie was not in concrete...GOOD MEMORIES😅
Absolutely unbelievable Krissy. What an amazing day or days on the gold. I knew you were going to find something like this and I can guarantee it will happen again. And I’m sure you probably did, but I would double check that hole and chisel another 5-10 inches in. He was getting a faint signal after checking the hole. There’s definitely a rich ore seam there possibly running North to south as I’ve heard that’s how they are mainly orientated ,exhaust the area first before moving away from it,so kool best of luck.

And from what I've learned the gold enrichment generally gets heavier at 5 or 6 foot depth. So the lease holder stands to gain a Bonanza. Its beautiful to see how the gold layers out.

When you find mineralised dirty quartz, I suggest you to collect them. One day you’ll crush ‘em and lots of fine gold you’ll get that you couldn’t detect or see.

I like that hand stamp mill. Brilliant. In my area a guy once found a 54 pound nugget in 1859. He put it on his wagon and headed to town to show it off. When he got there the nugget wasn't in the wagon, it had fallen out along the way. He back tracked and found it. Since the 100 year anniversary in 1959 they have had a festival and parade to commemorate it. People still occasionally find 1 and 2 ounce nuggets. Well... not so often any more since California has outlawed the use of dredges. Largest nugget I ever found was 2 gram.
