Anyway, the voiceovers probably started dying off around a decade ago, mainly due to Don's passing. Some factors for it going away, besides Don, was that voiceovers got parodied a lot & these Tropic Thunder fake trailers is a great example of this. Another factor was production studio marketing found that it might be a better selling point to just instill a little more intrigue & mystery about the movie, rather than talking too much about it, so using visuals & music alone would be better to get more tickets. And voiceovers have been around since the 1940's, more or less, back when movie trailers were so much longer than now, which also included a lot more text graphics on the trailer's screen, like "A must see" or "The intrigue, the mayhem", etc. Or maybe that started in the 1950's-70's. Some called them movie previews but I don't care, it's still a trailer. Another thing that may have disappeared or just got lesser, was the Opening credits, maybe due to audience ADHD heh. Again, voiceovers, on the majority, may come back at a future date... and then die down again a few decades after that, heh.
Trailers these days are incoherent all about pumping music and cgi.
@@sherwinceleste1707 Exactly today trailers dont give enough clear idea of the plot of the film. Trailers dont look as nice as older trailers. More voice overs would help actually a lot.
I was dumbfounded when this came on the TV; I didn't know if the movie actually started or not... but I was crying. Holy fucking shit. "Who left the fridge open?" Absolute genius.
Back then it took me longer than I’d like to admit to realize these were fake movie previews 😂😂😂
this is the canon why tony stark and peter paker have father and son relationship. the whole mcu was based on this movie
Pretty strange father and son relationship if you ask me :)
Satan's alley had me dieying lmfaoooo
That last trailer predicted both the MCU and Paul Verhoeven’s Benedetta, somehow.
The fact that Tobey Maguire and Robert Downey Jr played lovers in an actual movie makes this so much funnier lol
To this day I'd still watch "Satan's Alley", looks so well done! LOL
3:08 "I feel so good Mr. Stark"
WoW….The first Peter and Iron man together
Second time. Wonder Boys. Which makes Satan's Alley even funnier.
LMAO this movie was hilarious.
And it was even more hilarious watching it with commentary on and RDJ still in character 😭
HERE WE GO AGAIN
AGAIN
....and nobody saw it coming four more times.
This is certified multiverse classic.
I genuinely laughed when he said, “Who left the fridge open?” 😂
Watching all these trailers made me thirsty. If only there was a refreshing energy drink I could know about!
This was the Iron man/Spiderman relationship everyone was expecting.
Yes. It was
Even though I have watched the movie a few times over the years, here I am watching this YT video, and literally in tears laughing - especially the last trailer with Toby Maguire.... Tropic Thunder is one of the best movies in the last 20 years bar none...better than Zoolander. All the cast members are awesome....just an absolute classic!!!!
Satan's Alley needs to be a movie. Omg! It was my favorite trailer! Also, stubbing your toe on the coffee table be like 2:42 - 2:43. 🤣
To be honest, Satan's Alley would actually be a great premise.
it’s a goof on brokeback mountain.
@@nothanks3980 you’ve been a bad bad boy
@@nothanks3980 brokeback mountain is a shit, but this will be a gold)
There was a movie in 1995 called Priest that was kinda what the parody was spoofing.
It has been done a million times I think with nuns
There is even term nunexploitation movie
“One man, chose to question his god…
- WHYYYYYYYYYY?!?!”
Quiet Ironic that Heath ledger (Australian Method actor ) actually won the Oscar that year..
“I’ve been a bad BAD boy father.” Lmao
