I think you're right Sean. I'm kind of one of those wannabe bass singer myself totoo and it's a great thrill to improve my lower range. Strangest thing is that I'm also a trumpet player too. That and one who's learned through hard work how to play the higher notes. Something that JD Sumner said resonates with me. I lost my wife a little bit more than a year ago and being at home is one of the hardest things to do. About the only time I ever go home is to sleep. It's especially hard for me to go into the office. Many, many times with the business when we were cranking out the work she would sit there and play her puzzles on the internet, and I would do my paperwork and get things ready for the next day. I loved her so, so much. I understand exactly what JD Sumner is saying, and what he is going through. For a long time I just didn't care. I didn't care if I lived or died. I think I'm past that now by the Grace of God, but it is still very hard. I sympathize with anybody who has lost a spouse. It's like you lose a part of you.
Every interview after his wife's death, he mentioned that he lost her and how long it had been. Loyal was one of his descriptions. Faithful, always to Jesus and to spreading the message through singing.

I think J.D. had been talking to Elvis about our music and concerts which is why Elvis heard about us and wanted to meet our family. Elvis Presley gave our dad a beautiful silk scarf he had written a whole paragraph on it thanking us for promoting music during the 70's and autographed it, we miss them both but we have hundreds of photos and a few videos of all of them.
