gotta rename the title to "the best Sony cameras for music videos (budget vs quality)" missed panasonics5iix, s5,s1h, the gh series, then fuji film, blackmagic, z cam.
For Budget a6700; a6400 or fx30 (APS-C Sensor). And for high Budget A7siii/FX30 like you said. Guys you dont need to start with 5000€ Camera. Even the a6000, which costs 300€ (in europe) is good if you know how to use it well. A more expensive cam doesnt make you instantly a greater artist.
You should look into some of the new cameras lumix is putting out. That S5ii is super comparable to the a7siii for half the price. They fixed the autofocus and their image stabilization has always been the best. Been super interested in trying one of those out.
there seems to be a strange difference. The a7iv footage, at 4k, full frame and in 24/25/30p and with 180' shutter equivalent seems to be more staccato. I'm not talking about a ramped shutter speed a la Gladiator action sequences. The a7siii shooting the same settings seems to be smoother and more cinematic.
yo i swear there’s a crop and the fx3 does have way better low light. i’ve seen it first hand literally right beside eachother 😂 but if anyone else is seeing this def do your own research before purchasing
exactly what i was thinking , even the low light thing he said wasnt true. they're literally the same camera just housed differently with minor software tweaks.
@@tinytapes2 the a7s3 and fx3 have the same exact sensor and processor so the lowlight performance is the same, their literally the same camera, fx3 is just newer and has cinema features
The difference with the fx3 is that you can turn off the noise reduction it bakes in at 12800 unlike the a7s3 so that could be why it looked better. It may not have needed the noise reduction, the a7s3 will do it no matter what
@@ApostolosFilms you right, in my opinion the s1 is the most value per $ i got mine for 700$ used but as good as new. I cant get these specs anywhere else for this kind of money
@@basementstudios53 trust bro, I’ve been with Lumix for a while.since gh3, I also have blackmagic and Fuji. They each offer something amazing. Gh3,gh4,gh5s, s1,s5,s1h and now s5iix
A7IV got 4k 60 cropped but if you use a APSC lens with the super 35 mode, you can get a super wide lens to compensate and APSC lenses are cheaper. A7IV also downscales from 7K res. I had a a7siii and its outdated compared to the A7IV, the only thing it does better is 4K 120fps and its $1000 more expensive. Also has 12 MP vs 30 MP on a7IV if you care about taking some photos as well. I shoot hundreds of music vids in NYC every year and clients love when I can add some fire photos to my video packages.
Tbh I have used the a7 3 and the a7 4 and I find Sony to be one of the best cameras in the market. However I don’t use or own them and I use a Panasonic g7 and Panasonic gh5. I find the camera doesn’t really matter at all, I would say it matters about the time and dedication to put out there. Like Cole Bennett used an iPhone and it’s hard af. If I were u don’t go for a camera over a grand if your willing too. Get a camera like a canon m50 or any camera that at least shoots in 4k to start out.
the Sony a6400 is great too, it looked rough at first but I eventually semi learned how to use it correctly and it looks very clean! Would anyone recommend the Canon r8 though? I've been looking at only because it's full frame and shoots 4k 60 where the a6400 does not. I'm either grabbing that or getting the Tamron 17-70 cause i need something other than cheap kit lenses
There's so many options on the video and in the comments lol. Can someone recommend me a fairly decent camera for starting out on music videos, budget of about $700?

dope advice! thanks for dropping these gems. I’ve been on set with someone using an a6700, it’s a decent camera for the price.

Congrats on 50k!!
the sony a7iv is also pretty good for music videos its got 10 bit color and 4k down sampled from 7k

1:45 not true, they're the same camera interiorly, same sensor same low light performance and they're no crop at 60fps

Bro a7 siii doesn’t crop on 4k60
yes it does, happened to me personally lol
“Recording 4K at 60p is only possible in Super35/APS-C mode, resulting in a 1.5x crop”

A7 miv crop when u shoot 4k60
A7 siii don’t have any crop

Great and crisp content

You can keep the ''film'' feeling even if you shoot in 60fps on a 24fps timeline?
