Trip Report ✈️ Transatlantic on Aer Lingus? || Aer Lingus UK || Airbus A330-302 (G-EIDY) || MAN-JFK

- Hello everyone and welcome to another trip report!
Today I'm flying transatlantic for the first time in 10 years. So, what's it like flying transatlantic on Aer Lingus? It's not too bad.
Manchester Airport gave us fast track for flight connection which was good. At some areas in the airport there was no Wi-Fi which was not good. It's pretty strange how Manchester Airport only provided its passengers with gate information only less than an hour prior to the flight. Anyways, we boarded a bit late and took off a bit late. I knew either way that we'd most likely make up most of the time being delayed during the flight and I was right. 👍
After take-off, around 35-40 minutes into the flight we were provided with a drink of our choice and some pretzels. Later on, we had lunch. Lunch was pretty bad. The rice was crazy dry and had zero flavour and the chicken was average. I was inteugued by the water in a container lol. 😂 There was a pre-landing snack which I forgot to mention in the video, which consisted of a nice looking box which featured a chicken caeser wrap, a granola bar and something else which I forgot. 😅
Then it was time for landing. Landing was good and during the taxi you can see lots of aircraft taxiing and taking-off at JFK which was awesome. I managed to capture a Boeing 747 taking-off! 😁
Upon arrival at JFK, we went through immigration, border control, whatever its called and it took AGES. Literally nearly an hour. 😒 American security is very tight after the tragic events of 9/11, so I guess it makes sense. They ask you for your fingerprints, picture of your face, where you're staying at in the USA, purpose of travel, taking passport, etc. whereas in Dublin they just get your passport and off you go which is great.

Recently (Oct 23) flew back on this exact plane "St Munchin" from Orlando MCO to Manchester in 7 hours 50 minutes due to a strong tailwind. It has a total of 317 seats, they were only 89 passengers. Can't fault Aer Lingus, will definitely be flying with them again.

Hey man brilliant video i am going on that exact flight in a few days. Thanks for the detailed info on the flight. Im just wondering what was the aer lingus check in like and what you needed to do prior to departure just so i can kinda gauge what i need to do before the flight? Again thanks for the informative video.
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! I had the check-in process done at Dublin Airport as I was connecting through Manchester. They put on a tag saying DUB-JFK but it's connecting through Manchester. However, it might not be the most reliable as on my return flight they lost one of my bags and it was a bit damaged but if you're going direct from MAN-JFK I don't think there should be a problem.
Nice one, u should try get one of their A330s from Dublin to Malaga or Faro, you can purchase a Economy fare and upgrade to a Business class seat for not much extra
