If the intro is just a dude walking up a set of stairs to start his special, then it’s probably gonna be solid. If the intro is a sketch that isn’t funny, then it’s absolutely gonna suck. But if the intro is a sketch or something goofy that actually is funny, then it’s gonna be a good one.

All his jokes were either politics, pandering to the audience's state culture, and weird sh*t about his children that I will bet is gonna come to light as more than jokes.
The best part about AFTv is that they reel you in with lines that would be either decent or corny but heartfelt in any other context. It's not dramedy, it's just drama until the suspension of disbelief breaks and it becomes comedy.
It's because he knows his bits are shit, and that his audience has no taste, but that's the audience he's cultivated and now he's just kinda coasting along to make money.

There’s a reason it generates so many burnouts, grifters, and tragic cases. It’s a crowded and brutal field to try and make your living in. Comedy also often spawns from trying to make sense of deep-seated trauma and social conflict. So many people who go into it are already afflicted by poor mental health, and the struggles you will go through trying to make a living off of it will often compound that.
It's a hard road for sure and once they "make it" they all seem to become pompus jackass's who take themselves too seriously. So many manage to become totally insufferable when they get a bit of money
