I recollect memories of having watched this match live during 1985. It was exciting. Two catches by Binny were stunning. First a caught n bowled, next was boundary line catch. 👍
The Benson and Hedges World Series Cup .. always such a treat to watch .. especially on Television.. Coloured Clothing .. whiteBall.. Floodlights .. Still remember watching this particular match on Doordarshan which India won against Newzealand .. was a sort of knockout match in the round robin format .. India entered the WSC Finals .. 👍👍👍
Nostalgia is hell of a drug- ODIs those days were just limited overs test matches with very little innovation shown by openers except select few like Srikkanth
@@vickyvirk4424and then Mark Greatbatch with his pinch hitting at the top of the order! Innovators in their day but most importantly both had the ability to do what they did.
Indian paceman Chetan Sharma's cameo of 38 not out and a wicket proved vital in this match with India qualifying for the finals of this triseries. The next edition of Sportstar (an Indian sports magazine) following this match had the headline "Day of the Chipper" with Sharma's photo on the cover.
Coz selectors dropped him, like they had been ever since his debut in 1969-70. Prior to the '87 WC, Jimmy performed below par against a pak line-up where imran khan was past his prime as a strike bowler while wasim akram was still maturing into the great pace bowler he'd become by 1990. Comparitively, Jimmy was at his absolute best 4 years prior when khan was at the peak of his career as a fast bowler. So, BCCI despite Kapil's protests, dropped Amarnath from the playing XI for the World Cup.
@@maheshpsoni2222 for india Zimbabwe match, it was supposed to be telecasted as india beaten both west Indies and australia and BBC suddenly started giving importance to india matches. Unfortunately, that day BBC went on strike. And for india West Indies first match, it was a no match as per BBC cause they believed that West Indies will crush india as they only won once in world Cup, that too against east Africa.
Roger Binny was most underrated cricketer. Whenever he got chance he has done well.

Oh how?? I thought in 80s all matches were only on Radio.
Martin Crowe caught and bowled by Roger binny was the turning point of the match. Great catch by Binny.
Another Brilliant Upload Keep It Up
I am very happy for watching cricket, great men Kapil, shreekanth, Binni and all others.

The best ever Indian team 1986 team lead by Kapil dev
Thanks for uploading 👍
23:30 lbw from Kapil Dev to Bruce Edgar was absolutely plumb
Pitching outside leg stump
Good all round cricket by Indians ❤
Imagine Srikkanth with a modern bat. Damn, that'd be fun to watch.
Nope in the modern era of in and out fields, he would get out quickly as he showed very poor adaptation
Love these old highlights but thank the heavens run rates of under 2 an over are a thing of the past! 😂😂

Great memory?, what a recalling?
Sharma was underrated batsman
remember watching the early morning telecast.
Yeah, waking up 5 am … those were the days! 😅
According to me Binny should be MoM for this match
Hi buddy do you have any McDonald's cup games from very early days, keep up with the good work
Feel sad now to watch cricket
Raju Kulkarni
Good memory
I used to remember Raju Kulkarni being described as having pace and then i saw him on TV and people used to step out to him
Poor old Tassie got jipped in the 80s WSC games. Never got the home side in the single game they’d get during the season.
MAmarnath played till 1990,but he was not in 1987 WC??!! still mystery!!???

Because selectors were his best pals😂😂😂😂
Called selectors a bunch of jokers...also the perception of being a slow scorer
Hi, Bill Lorry.
Roger Binny David Johnson Stuart Binny & Robin Singh Indians with pure christian names .
Why no more uploads on your channel since long time ?
Pl, upload first group match which was played between India and West Indies prudencial (world cup) in 1983.
That was not telecasted as the bbc thought it wasn't worth it.
@@asifkhan1109 is it true?
Because, I think only India Zimbabwe match was not telecasted. Because bbc is on strike.
