This "Flight of 5" in Waterford is not the one that climbs the Niagra Escarpment.... this climbs up about 160 feet from the Hudson up to the Mohawk river portion of the Erie Canal. The other famous "Flight of 5" is 350 miles to your west in Lockport, New York -- and that famous flight of 5 is no longer in use - still there to your right -- but replaced by two modern locks that do indeed take you up the Niagra Escarpment ..... #themoreyouknow
