Shopping for $5 Dinners This Week! Here’s how I found the best deals for all the ingredients!

- $5 Dinners this week! I’m using what I have on hand for some things but I’m going to show you what to buy and how much it should cost so you can see what to shop for!
I shopped at Walmart and Aldi for my ingredients and I’m so sorry that I’m all over the place this time 😅
Here’s the shopping list:
1 lb Pasta (like Penne)
24 oz Cottage Cheese
Pasta Sauce
Grated Parmesan
8oz Mozzarella
1 lb Cheddar Cheese
8oz Cheddar Cheese
1 lb Ground Turkey
1 can Chili Beans
1 lb Black Beans
2 Greek Yogurt (individual size)
1 Lime
10 oz Grape Tomatoes (or any tomatoes)
Cream Cheese
Russet Potatoes (5lbs or get 4 each)
1 can (10 oz) Enchilada Sauce
3 lbs Sweet Potatoes (or 8 each)
1 bunch Green Onions
1 lb Chicken Breasts or Thighs
1 pack Corn Tortillas
If I purchased all of these ingredients today, I would have spent less than $40 and I’ll be making 6 dinners that will each serve 4 people. That’s 24 individual meals!
Here’s what I’ll be making:
Lazy Lasagna
Loaded Baked Potatoes
Black Bean and Turkey Enchiladas
Loaded Sweet Potato Fries
Enchilada Chicken Stuffed Sweet Potatoes
Easy Mac and Cheese
Maybe One More Bonus Meal: TBD

I need to check if our Aldi still has the 10lb bag of potatoes on sale. That’s such a great price. And I’m happy to eat oven fries twice a day for a couple of days lol

I’m from Ontario, Canada, so I know what you mean about being envious of US prices and selection! We’re fortunate that we can cross-border shop about once every 3-4 months (and we do stock up!). So wish we had an Aldi’s in Canada! 😂
