  • The session led by CMETrust Alumni, Brian Opondo, for our secondary scholars, focussed on The Seven Habits of Effective Leadership aimed to equip participants with essential skills and perspectives for personal and professional growth as follows:
    1. **Proactivity**: Taking initiative and responsibility for one's choices and actions, focusing efforts on things within one's control rather than external circumstances.
    2. **Begin with the End in Mind**: Having a clear vision and understanding of goals before taking action, ensuring that all efforts are directed towards achieving long-term objectives.
    3. **Put First Things First**: Prioritizing tasks and activities based on their importance rather than urgency, ensuring that critical goals are not overshadowed by less significant matters.
    4. **Think Win-Win**: Seeking mutually beneficial solutions in all interactions, emphasizing trust and collaboration for effective communication and problem-solving.
    5. **Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood**: Listening actively and empathetically to others before expressing one's own viewpoint, fostering understanding and effective communication.
    6. **Synergize**: Embracing creative cooperation where the combined efforts of individuals yield greater results than individual contributions alone, promoting innovation and growth.
    7. **Sharpen the Saw**: Continuously renewing and balancing physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional well-being, ensuring sustained effectiveness and personal growth.
These habits encourage participants to cultivate proactive behaviour, clarity of vision, effective prioritisation, collaborative relationships, empathetic communication, innovative thinking, and holistic personal development.
