Mark, I love how open-minded and friendly you are. You're such a lovely and kind person who has lots of respects for different cultures. This is what we all should learn from you: being less judgemental and more accepting toward other people and cultures. You're definitely my favourite UA-camr
Ive noticed he only does that when he really enjoys the food .. if he's not feeling it too much he'll do the other face and say hmmm with the head bop 🤣🤣
This guy is so humble, I have also watched some of your videos, it takes an intelligent person to understand and respect diversity as much as you Mark. One day when I have money to pay for my own traveling costs I will join you in one of these tours.
I salute to your patience, understanding and humbleness, all for us, to see the delicious foods and wonderful places and friendly people all over the world. Such a wonderful person. You reminded me of Princess Diana when You, Micha and. Ying interacted with people and the kids of Kenya. It is not about how much you will gain from your vlogs but how many friends you will gather on every country you visited. I highly recommend your family to be recognized by UN and made you all as family ambassadors of goodwill. It’s really nice of your family to interact with different people from different cultures around the world. I pray for your safety and health. God bless you all!
I must be honest, I would be a bit nervous going into some of the areas Mark goes into. The 2nd and 3rd places/restaurants meat looked okay. The fight most likely broke out because they are probably not used to tourists in their communities. Mark should also show some of the built-up areas in Kenya in order to give a well-rounded representation of street food, restaurant food and food in town built-up urban areas that have shopping centres etc. These guys loved being filmed on video. Thank you for going into these areas Mark. Many Africans themselves wouldn't. It should be like this though. Maybe there are tours into these communities. I'd be a little nervous eating certain foods there. Mark, you're a great sport. There is no one like you. Thank you. This warmed my heart.
Claire, that commotion you saw while they entered the market is common to everyone who enters the market. They are purposely placed their to draw whoever enters the market to their stalls. There are too many vendors and so the owners resorted to soliciting for customers at the entrance
I'm all for these areas being visited. The more they are visited, the higher the quality of the service and safety of the area. Crime and unsafety is due to poverty.
Not many main tours would go into these areas. Especially paid ones. Given Africa's safety and crime rate. The tourists going to Kenya would go to Kenya's main attractions.
Mark W!; been following him all over the world, from Africa, Middle East, Europe, Asia! What a beautiful human soul! He fits in with the locals, accepts their culture and food. Food brings people together!! Thank you for your amazing videos & karibu kenya! Born in Kenya but now Canadian! Welcome to Canada Mark W!!!
The respect I have for Mark with the way he accepts the varieties of food and the genuineness of his friendship. Some of the food I would have had a hard time eating but I love the way Mark enjoyed the meat and sides with joy. Thank you for your food traveling and I look forward to all your videos. God Bless.
Agree...i love most of mark videos and contents. But not for this one. I hope lowering budget not the reason why he chose those spots. Tbh i'm quite disapppointed with his Africa tour esp.this! Evenmore found few comments from Kenya people how they are embarrassed by this episode make it clearer that Kenya isn't as bad as what i saw here.
Monkey Nut I'm with you and I'm not sure I would attempt some of the foods he eats, thats the truth. Yet, I love the way Mark is so enthusiastic about it all.
Right! Sunday 8 PM Bangkok Time! Time for my weekly dose of Mark Wiens! 🙂 Loving the Africa series btw. Most countries in Africa are so vibrant and colourful!
I love this. My country is represented. It is not only the food but also the people, the beauty of the country and the love. Yes we have other places where Mark could have gone but he chose this place. He has no problem with it and he is enjoying. Mark and Ying, you inspire me to do what you do. My love for food and travelling grows more each day by watching your videos. Hope to meet you one day and share a meal. All the best!!!!!
The Swizzler its not the Africans’ fault that their country is geologically located on the equator in one of the hottest areas in the world which means that they are constantly in a food and water deficit. Before you make precipitous and derogatory comments, think about what you say you impertinent narcissist.
Watch at your own risk. You should know that not every country in the world has the same culture and you know what im talking about. The hell if you cant stand what your watching then skip the vid. Like you can wait for other vid series from mark. Just because your lifestyle and your environment is diff than this people doesnt mean you are better than them. Thumbs up to mark wiens for being able to immerse himself to the locals, huge respect for him cause he makes sure that he isnt disrespecting anyone nor anything on his vlogs. His video is about pure positivity so why cant you just be like him? Cause even if yah rant about the dirt, sanitation, germs and what not still these people are beautiful and hey thats just their way of life. Life is so unfair to others so be considerate and be mindful of what you say. Geeez the heck is wrong with ya'll, their food aint killin no one and mark is perfectly fine.
Joelyn Atimpao Very well said. I agree with you 100% Skip the video if you dont like it. Announcing in the comments how unsanitary, unsafe, you're not following cause of this Africa series, etc... just shows the type of person you are. Mark has been doing this for years because hes good at what he does. He is so humble and sweet and respectful of other peoples cultures. Hes not going to lose sleep because you announced you are not following anymore. He didnt make this channel just for you lol!
Naima Adam you are so right miss, i just hope people would just see the brighter side of everything in life. At least that could make a very big difference in correcting their distorted point of view
precious1q i know right??? Its good though that mark is losing all these negative subscribers. They arent making any diff in the world unlike mark who opens our eyes to a world full of new learnings about diff people all around the world. Such an eye opener, some people are just sucked into a society where every little thing is an issue.
This is great thanks for showing this to us in America!!! We call these "hole in the walls" and they always have the best food ever..not fancy but authentic home cooked food!!!!
We were learning Indonesian at school in year 7 so we watched your videos to learn the culture, I’m now grade 9 and haven’t missed a video since, love your channel mark
Flynn Baird I think it's wonderful that a teacher is using his videos to teach about different cultures. More teachers should do that. Definitely makes learning fun!
I love you Mark, my country Kenya 🇰🇪 and mostly your video doses that get me glued to my tv till late night. I really like how you appreciate food, other strange people and places with respect and humility. Thanks for this video, I like that you loved the combo of mukimo or "irio" in other words ,choma and kachubari. I tell you that felt yummy in my mouth when you were eating. May God bless you and your family always. I wish to one day meet you and your fam in person. The next time you are in Kenya bring Ying I show her how to make some more sweeter and better "irio" and am sure you will love it. Peace...
salute to you mark for your non ending patience. those people just sit and eat they are street guys just want to have free meal. we dont eat to be satisfied, they eat because its free
Mark, you have such an amazing smile, it even shows in your eyes. You love the food and the people of all cultures all around the world. I commend you.
Been watching yours videos like all of them, Your tours across the globe but today I am just so happy to learn that you actually lived and went to high school in Kenya. And so Kenya is like home to you. Thanks for your good work, showing us different cultures and actually teaching us how to respect and appreciate those cultures. May God bless and protect you. Love you Mark and your whole time plus the family that you will never leave behind😅😅...Bring more and more videos
Well that was interesting. The markets to be honest looked a bit scary and challenging. Some people also looked either high or drunk or maybe that is a misconception. But always an experience to watch Mark's video and how he tackles everything with his smile and good nature.
hahaha and the worst is people will hate on Dagoretti market but thats where all Nairobi Meat comes from, wheather he ate it from there or five star hotel thats where animals get slaughtered.
Greetings and love from India Thank you so much for showing us around . Beautiful people , lovely culture , great food . There is so much more to it than food . Entire series has everything from life , routine , culture adaptations , language . God bless . Best wishes .
Some places were very risky , people getting too involved generally a risk for tourists, but the way Mark handles the new crowd , man he is good conversationalist.

Mark makes me so hungry for culinary cultures. I wish 15 years ago I knew of his love of different culinary diets. I will have joined in these tastings of the world. Mark thank you.
Mark I just got back from Kenya. Your video is the real deal. At first, I was taken aback by the environment. Then, I just learned to go with the flow and relax. It’s a third world country. We as Americans can be so ignorant sometimes. The people were lovely. I was humbled by their hospitality and kindness. And yes, there were hustlers but you can get hustled in New York, LA, Detroit, etc. I love the authenticity of your video and your kindness as a guest in someone else’s country. Much respect to you!
I've always eaten this meat in the market too.And I've never got food poisoning either.I cannot wait to be in Kenya .the only thing I am not sure of is the salad. But I have got food poisoning from A five star restaurant in England
This goes to Mark Wiens and the crew: Today I had the pleasure to visit Kenyatta Market in Nairobi, the same place you had the Nyama Choma, and surprising enough, those guys treasure every moment you shared with them. The meat seller was like, yule mzungu naomba arudi tena, (that white guy should come back). Seems his business is doing much better after your visit. We even watched the youtube video together.
Mark, I absolutely love your adventuresome spirit! I pray that God will protect your immune system. By safe my friend. Much love to you & family, & may God bless.
This is one of the best thought for eating any food any where in the world that "we eat to finish" so there will no wastage of food. These kenyan brothers know the actual value of food. ❤😊
It's amazing the quantity of all kinds of foods Mark can pack each day and he seems to be on top of the world all the time...I'd be knocked out for a day or two eating one of those delicious HUGE meals, Mark can with eat with no physical discomfort nor weight gain. WOW
The guys at the end were clearly high just look at their eyes. Mark just being polite here to avoid confrontation but obviously it is not ok some strangers just helping themselves to the food you ordered. Can see why you didn’t bring your kid there. Was too intense
Yea look at them little roaches - not just a little bit either eh.....they feasting with him like they family. Mark please don't say it was totally ok at the end and smile. Kind of wasn't
So, it seems they haven't yet got the concept of "personal space" over there. My anxiety was having a ball, watching that. You're a brave man, Mark. Do you have security or anything?
African people are very sociable guys will sit next to each other i have African friends who will set next to me IT is there culture We white people have the problem of separation
Great videos I love watching you. I'm from Kenya and I appreciate you going there and getting to know the culture of our people. God bless you and your family too.
Mark is so down to earth, that's like down down town almost ghetto kenya 😂.. Adventure feasting seems fun though, You must have a strong immune system oh wow 🤗
Watch all his videos in Africa ...u will know him better...he chose this...if he wants a better hygiene place ...he should just tour somewhere else...not Africa..better in California ,Australia,Singapore, but why Africa?because its...HIS CHOICE!
Mark be happy and do what you love...what Kenyans want is that you go eat your nyamachoma in Lavington ,...be yourself eat the nyama from any place u love....peace Mark
Really loved this video! Interesting enough in Zulu (One of the South African Languages) Nyama also is meat. :) Shisanyama is equivalent or the same as Nyama Choma.
Swahili (spoken in East Africa) is the Bantu language although it has been somehow influenced by some other foreign languages. Even your name (Khuleka) means "to let" or "to leave" in some other Bantu tribal languages in Tanzania. I have a friend who is called "Matungwa", almost similar to your surname
Khuleka, locally "Kueka", also means "to let" or "to let be" in Kenyan bantu languages and the Kenyan Kamba language version of Mtungwa is Mutungwa meaning " the returned one". Mark Wiens is always great at doing what he does. Keep it up!!
Nairobi has much nicer and cleaner places to eat. Mark went straight to the hoodiest places. In a land of 1st class tourism these spots don’t shed a good light on Kenyans but make for good entertainment I guess!
It would be ignorant to go to kenya, only to visit 1st class spots and miss out on the genuine street food. I was born in Kenya, and I know the best food is in the hood.
He's really explored Kenya from Machakos, to Maasailand, To different parts of the Coast, and I'm sure there's more I havent watched. He's even been to Java in Nairobi among other better ambient places. He's been very thorough.
I think Mark is the best food tasting guy because he respects every culture and it's foods .
Leader success ! doggie bag
MUITO EDUCADO. MUITO BOM
Absolutely true
Yes so tru
Yes really he is very nice respective person
Mark should be the United Nations Ambassador of Good Will and Human Relations.
Dwight Turner yeah eating and bring people together
Dwight Turner I agree with you
Most people here don’t know that mark did some of his high school in Kenya and actually lived in Kenya for a couple of years
Baba Yao yuh he said that 😂
Oh, seriously?
Momma Wasai yeah true
😅he also said'kikosh'
I see why he knows how to use his hands very well when eating, ooh such a humble soul.
Mark, I love how open-minded and friendly you are. You're such a lovely and kind person who has lots of respects for different cultures. This is what we all should learn from you: being less judgemental and more accepting toward other people and cultures. You're definitely my favourite UA-camr
Sophie La Susceptibility to disease is not something to be proud of. Nor it is culture.
The amount of times I’ve heard mark say “Oh yeah” with his eyes 👀 popping out of his head . Amazing
City Invest That's why i am not gonna trust Mark for Food, everything he eating oh yea, popping eyes Lol
😁 it's his signature move don't yo6 know guys
I like you mark 😂😂😂😂😂
Ive noticed he only does that when he really enjoys the food .. if he's not feeling it too much he'll do the other face and say hmmm with the head bop 🤣🤣

Mark said that in the video if you watch the whole video
Reminds you of Princess Diana?? lol. Least he doesn't remind you of Harry., mate!!

The respect I have for Mark with the way he accepts the varieties of food and the genuineness of his friendship. Some of the food I would have had a hard time eating but I love the way Mark enjoyed the meat and sides with joy. Thank you for your food traveling and I look forward to all your videos. God Bless.
Mark is so diplomatic "the people are generally friendly" etc.
This series really hasn't sold Africa to me.
WE ARE NOT FOR SALE !
Mootz you misunderstand the comment. It means this video has not encouraged me to visit. You can calm down now
Gunstar75 hahaha I think they're for sale now
😅😂🤣😁🤗

Mark is so humble... He could have given learned rich people business but he chose to give these guys the job.
I am setting up a Nyama Choma shop when i get back to Texas, for sure.
Whoa this is cool. This kind of reminds me of the movie District 9, but with great people and great food.
People needs to learn from U Mark!!!! Such a great person are u!!!
It looks delicious 🤤
Dude u doing the happiest job in the world
I agree with you on you remark ☺️😊
I thought this was a trailer for a Mad Max movie !
It's amazing the quantity of all kinds of foods Mark can pack each day and he seems to be on top of the world all the time...I'd be knocked out for a day or two eating one of those delicious HUGE meals, Mark can with eat with no physical discomfort nor weight gain. WOW
These street foods ain't really safe but I like mark cause he is so adventurous

Mark you are always so pleasant and smiling.
Mark I love the person that you are! You really are an awesome individual! May God continue to richly bless you and your family!
The guys at the end were clearly high just look at their eyes. Mark just being polite here to avoid confrontation but obviously it is not ok some strangers just helping themselves to the food you ordered. Can see why you didn’t bring your kid there. Was too intense
That's when you grow a pair of Balls and ask for some space.
Clearly he was outnumbered.. You would have acted the same, or wound up seriously hurt, or worse...@@BigALdeek
Yea look at them little roaches - not just a little bit either eh.....they feasting with him like they family. Mark please don't say it was totally ok at the end and smile. Kind of wasn't
totally agree - they soo un-hygienic as well
Kresien //M why where they unhygienic? Because they are black? 🙄🙄🙄
salute to your bravery mark. this is the scariest tour i have watched from your videos.
So, it seems they haven't yet got the concept of "personal space" over there. My anxiety was having a ball, watching that. You're a brave man, Mark. Do you have security or anything?
African people are very sociable guys will sit next to each other
i have African friends who will set next to me IT is there culture We white people
have the problem of separation
My Kenyan people 😂😂😂.
I love my country.
Nice work there
Great videos I love watching you. I'm from Kenya and I appreciate you going there and getting to know the culture of our people. God bless you and your family too.
Mark is so down to earth, that's like down down town almost ghetto kenya 😂.. Adventure feasting seems fun though, You must have a strong immune system oh wow 🤗
I’m already very hungry when it’s 6am and II don’t know why I torture myself and watch this amazing vid 👀
Mark you are so humble and you respect people so much.

Hahaha.... *GOMBE* is Mark’s pronunciation of Ngombe! Too funny 😂
so what? do u expect him to be perfect? hes not african
@Michael Holmes why are u acting all offensive??
Mark is one brave guy! Love your videos, keep them coming.
The hoodier, the place the better the choma !
He's really explored Kenya from Machakos, to Maasailand, To different parts of the Coast, and I'm sure there's more I havent watched. He's even been to Java in Nairobi among other better ambient places. He's been very thorough.
I wondering this guy. Mark goes around in the world just for tasting food. Woow I proud of you Mark
Mark can make a sauer grape seems sweet. He is amazing.
you have more guts then I do, some of those questionable place I would never eat at, friends or no friends
gaurtauk when you buy your packaged, water tumbled bleached meat at the supermarket, feel assured it’s hygienic
gaurtauk You got that right
It's an honor to have you in our country God bless you
You look like you have the best job in the world. Keep it up.
