Not an equal comparison between the 17wsm and 17 Hornet. The bc is hurting the hornet at distance. They need to be shooting the same bullets for a fair comparison.
Would love to see some graphs with speed, energy, drop. Also would like to see the .20 Practical and .20 Vartarg in the comparisons, as well as a .22 Mag and .223 for benchmarks. Thanks for the info.
Extremely informative video. Could you achieve the similar ballistics in a Remington with a straight-wall cartridge? As opposed to a neck-&-shoulder case?
I'd assume that you would run into a multitude of problems considering how thin a .17 straight-wall would be. .22 mag is already prone to denting, a .17 especially one as long as this would have to be would bend just from being dropped. Not to mention the issues of overall length and case capacity. This thing would look like someone sliced a pencil in half. To keep things simple, although I can't be sure as I haven't tried it, its easy to imagine how inefficient/impractical/impossible it would be to make work right.
@@zekethefishgeek8690o be honest I’d go for the 204 ruger if I was you , I had a 204 ruger yrs ago loved it , but as I have a Thompson encore in 22-250 and a ruger no 1 in 220 swift there is no need , 39 grn Sierra BK were my favourite reloads
I really would like to know what 200 rounds would weight in each of these calibers ? I read some where that pilots were given 22 hornet survival rifle in the past wars. I was thinking of getting a 22hornet but thought different after reading they keep speed down in them because of all the old rifles. Also the case is thin , harder to reload . I like the Idea of center fire or maybe I just have doubts of rimfire in water, i know I'm nuts. Lol I'll have to check youTube if anyone done a submerge test on ammo. Good Video , Happy Trails
these very small bore high velocity cartridges are very interesting
Ammo selection wise, would you recommend the 17 Remington over the 17 fireball?

I don't hunt, just targets. I think the most economical for me would be the .17WSM. I think the ammo is reasonably priced.

Got the same rifle . Had it since 1982. Love it.
I'd love to have a rifle in .17 Remington

Dear Sir....
Can I ask you..?
How many milimeter caliber of wmr 17.?
Thanks you very much.
God Bless U.
That's same with .177 or 4,5 mm?
Yuli anto. your guess of .17 being equal to 4.5mm lines up with my understanding also. 👍

Get the 222 one of the best
One thing to mention is that a .204 won't reach 4,300 FPS....fact
A .17 rem shooting a 25gr v max at 4000fps beats the .204 ballistically!
how about comparing a 3030 and 357 out of a rifle.
Soooo 17 Hornet is the way to go
No
Where do you get your ballistic tables
My 17 squirrel, compared to powder weight beats them all. 6.0 gr I push my 20 gr 3500 FPS
Chief119 love that round. What rifle are you using and who chambered it for you?
