Nicole C made a good point. Allowing our love to be rooted in Christ. Not just only loving them the way we define love. We have to understand Gods love. Like Sheila said, our desire should be to be more like Jesus. Love is not irritable. That's an area I need to improve on with my family. May God help us all.

I’ve been dwelling on all you’ve shared and have really appreciated your scriptural wisdom. One thing I think really helps my marriage is to see God work His love through my husband into the lives of others. I love ministering and serving alongside my husband, and my respect for him (and therefore my teachability and vulnerability towards him) just grows. So I think there is great value in being members of a Christian community in which we can serve and grow together.
To say we want to be more like Jesus is a powerful statement and much easier said than done because we are flesh, which is contrary to the spirit, and Jesus is spirit!! That's why we have to pray and repent every day!!
