Huge thanks to the BMW Motorrad team in Brighton for letting me take out the new 2015 S1000RR! (Trust me, insurance becomes an issue when I try to test ride stuff!)

Psst... hey .... yeah you.. hi =)
when i was 20, i had a 9000cc ish vehicle. And it only cost me $20 for 3 days to get around. And its called a bus.
Lol...
Just watched your video for the first time. I'm trying to prepare myself for when I pick up my first 1000cc. I've gone for the 2006 r1 and from the videos I've watched it's absolutely brutal. I've not even held a CBT for 2 years and did the direct access route and whilst waiting to go to my test I went into the bike shop to waste time but ended up putting a deposit down and I pick it up in a few weeks. That first ride is going to be one of the best/scariest days of my life.
I just found you? Whaaat? This is really entertaining stuff!
+Kromeification Haha thanks mate! ;)
I agree!
Who knew that a grown man with a new toy sounds exactly like a little boy with a new toy?! Your enthusiasm and excitement were contagious. Here is why I think this is an excellent video (try not to let your head swell, we've talked about that before): 1. you rode that bike beautifully 2. the weather, albeit hot, was good to you 3. the road choices were ideal to show off its abilities 4. the sexy unzipping (you know it!) 5. you know your limits, and know the potential to disregard them with a bike that powerful Very well done....happy you got to give it a go...stay safe..._zip, zip_...
Ayyyyy thanks for those little short cuts around the lights. Cheers for leaving them in ;) Ride safe!
I recently test rode an S1000R with all the little gizmos on it, I loved all of the little extra creature comforts, the instant power in any gear and the brakes were amazing, but when I got back on my Street Triple R afterwards I didn't feel it was lacking at all, I still love riding it!
+gizzmo84 Nailed it dude, no doubt its a proper premium superbike but definitely too much bike, just made me realise how much I _didn't_ need a 1000 =P
That bike turns you into an absolute nutter XD! I love how the woman bitched out when she saw that you knew that she had flipped you off. It's like a little kid muttering something naughty under their breath XD.
+MyRandomLife247 Ahaha watch out my full potential has been shown! ;) Haha yeah, you could practically read the 'oh shit' on her face =D
You can ride a bike clearly and you know what kinda bike you need and are comfortable with that, good to see at 20. Thumbs up
I took this beast out as my first ltr bike and had exactly the same thoughts as you. Where the fuel gauge? ???. Was great fun to and very easy to ride.
+Purplemonkey 1974 Im not the only one, yay! ;) Got the TCS settings, ABS, race modes, heated grips and a million other things to look at but no idea how far its going to get you =P
What roads were you riding on? i live in that general area n they look great!
hey mate, nice review,I think you are a really good rider,,seems as though you've had lots of prior rides,,what bike do you ride,?thanks and keep them videos coming,
+Dennis Wanjau Thanks mate! Ive got a Ducati 899 and a Triumph Daytona 675 =)
Thanks for the reply,,am just getting into bikes,,I ride a 125cc chinese bike, but am looking to upgrade to a supersport or superbike,,depends on which bike is available,,2015 r1 because of the power modes and looks,2012-2015 cbr 600rr or 1krr for the refinement and reliability,,heard that the bmw s1krr has vibrations on the bars and also it's parts are hard to come by,but the beamers cruise control is just amazing,,every litre bike should have that...
Awesome video man! bmw s1000rr is my dream bike! you're laugh is awesome also
just be careful!!! :)
+TheAmazingTye Cheers mate, yeah its certainly a bike that wont disappoint after all the dreaming ;)
this vid alone is worth a sub! I want that bike
Loved the video, people just love to toss you off. Lol.
+wowrogue192 Haha oh so wrong!
The second and final sunny day in England of year.
Aw you didn't show everyone your pretty red knickers! I love this bike, definitely one of my favourites to ride :) and it comes in red with 'RR' on the side...
Red Renna it has our initials on it!
+Red Renna Aww totally forgot, at least you can say you saw them first hand! Haha its like BMW made the bike with you in mind =D
+TheCrazymook Hold on, 20 years old and on a 1000, is that legal with today's license rules?
+Ian Collings Yeah, I got lucky and did my A2 at 17 so by the time I was 19 I was fully unrestricted =)
Ahhh cool, good lad!
Just found you!! Love it subscribed :) keep up good work~ you're giggly excitement passed onto me hahah!
+cynthia loo Haha +1 to little girl giggles! =D
Its awesome to hear how much fun you are having man! I am on my A2 licence and I would likely scare the living daylight out of me!
Jesus you're lucky! Looked like you really enjoyed it, brilliant video as always!
+Rockkid98 It was a _TONNE_ of fun mate, even the guys back at the BMW dealership could tell by the smile on my face ;)
+TheCrazymook should we be expecting a new bike reveal soon to replace the Daytona? Or are you still sorting insurance stuff out?
Nope already bought a bike mate, just need to find the time to go and get it! =D
+TheCrazymook ah nice one! I'm looking forward to it making an appearance, isn't a Nuda is it? Only I hear ones gone missing... Sadly :(
I know, Im _SOO_ gutted for RJ, especially because I know what she meant to him by the way he talked about it when we met =(
+TheCrazymook Love your videos man. Quick question..I am about to start taking riding instructions from the traffic department, usually on a 125cc bike for about 2 weeks everyday. Do you recommend after that starting on a new 1000cc bike which has ABS and riding modes? I was considering the GSXR1000.
+yousif alsarraf Hey mate, no definitely don't get a 1000 even with riding aids (which imo make worse riders) Start off on something smaller and build up experience, either a 650 or 600 =)
how much octane is your petrol?
bmw s1000rr has 199 horses with 98 octane fuel
Lol, thoroughly enjoyed this vid. You have just found a new subscriber, haha.
+Slydermac Haha cheers mate! =D
that's not exactly true about having to downshift a couple of times when you are trying to overtake car's on a 600, because the Triumph Daytona 675R has great throttle response throughout, you could be in 5th gear and gun the throttle and it'll take off pretty quickly.
What license do you have? It was my understanding you couldn't ride anything more then 35kws under the A2 license, and if your only 20 years old doesn't that mean your not able to do the full access license?
+Nathan Collier Ive got my full A license, passed my A2 at 17 under the older 33bhp law so Ive had my full license since 19 =)
How did you manage to get a test ride on that a 20?!? Everywhere I go says I have to be 21, even though I have had a full licence (unrestricted) for years now and fully comp insurance... I can buy any bike I wan't but they won't let me try before I buy :(
+John “MVAR” Smith Yeah it is 21, but if you go in and talk to the dealership they'll offer that you pay a high excess if you bin the bike. Its the problem I had when buying my 675 at 19.. no way would anyone let me test one so I had to buy one and just hope for the best!
I was planning on a new R1. After your video, I am reconsidering.
+Speeding Tickets New as in 2015 R1? I was going to get a '12 big bang R1 but after riding the S1K Im definitely going German ;)
What a hot bike! Very sweet!!!
+WheelsNotHeels Touché Wheels! Only problem is the price tag ;)
How big are the wheels? Can they wheelie? Also does it fit in the back of my mates astra?
The quickshifter comes to all the bmw s1000rr or just for the recent ones ?
@Nowitzki Alex Quick shifter is standard on all generations... Newer generation (2015+) get quicker shifter w/ autoblipper (clutchless downshifts)
sooooo.... where's my cookie? :D Nice video man! keep going👍
What an awesome video. This is the first bike I'll test ride when I get my full licence. Isn't the minimum age 21 for the A licence?
+Good Deeds Everyday Well take it easy if you do mate, quick bike for sure! Err not sure about the minimum age now, think it might even be 24 now?!
TheCrazymook
You can get A if you're 24+ or if you've had an A2 license for 2 years. Earliest you can get an A2 is 19 and so earliest for A is 21. When did you get your license? Lucky you got it before the rule change.
By the way you look very competent on the bike.
Ah okay, I stand corrected then ;) I got my A2 in 2012 so had my A by last year =D
Thanks matey
woooow .... if you expected that super power etc switch to mode 'race' next time !
love my S1KR and the RR is sublime... down shifter is different gravy. great video dude. :-)
+Virtu FA As far as Im aware the R is exactly the same as the RR? Just a bit more sit uppy?
Indeed a bit more sit uppy and detuned think it's 160 bhp. ... still a rocket ship 😀
Haha yeah I don't think anyones ever ridden a 160bhp bike and gone nahhh it needs a bit more oomph ;)
just found your channel dude! loving it ahahhaha
+Robert De Klerk Haha appreciate it mate =)
Hi, is the 2015 model has the same issues with the previous models like: vibrations on the bars while crossing the 4000rpm? is the engine goes over heated close to your legs like 2014 models?
Any comments from you can help me before I buy the same bike?
Thanks
+Moon Light From what I experienced and have been told, the 2015 S1000RR has been improved over the previous models.. the weak gearbox on the early BMW's has also been sorted!
+TheCrazymook i really appreciate ur reply. i had no idea about the weak gear in the previous model, but as u have the new model do u feel any issues with gear or steering vibrations and engine get so heated?
thx
When I go down to Brighton I'll have to try those shortcuts out. Have you considered doing a meetup as I'd love to meet you and I'm local (BurgesscHill) :)
+Ross RS Always handy to know mate =) There are occasional meets and ride outs, best way is to follow Facebook and/or Twitter as any details get put on there!
+TheCrazymook I've liked your FB page. Will you be going to spicy110's meetup in September? :)
Nice one, yeah I should be.. I was planning on organising a ride from the Brighton area to Loomies for the meet if youre game?
That would be good but, what way are going (will there be motorways)?
Nooo way too boring mate ;)
what happened at 3:40 :3, did you punch that cars mirror?
Lucky you ;p
20 and on S1000RR,
I'm 23 and stuck with a 300 ;p
What are you riding now?
Great review. I love this bike and have it in the exact same colour. The only neg I have is it gets pretty hot on the left side where the knee touches the bike. Had to put some heat protection there. Other than that it is every bit as fun as I saw you have. Subscribed!
Ah mate that looked like great fun. I hope you get back on another one soon.
+cowtipper84 Wont be long dude, already bought one... just need to go and pick her up! =D
black or white and blue???
How can you ride that at 20? Direct access is at 24, and I thought you had to be 21 to do the other method where you go 17,19,21?
+XoLEGENDZoX I did my A2 under the old 33bhp laws, passed it at 17, fully unrestricted by 19 =)
awesome video, very enjoyable,is this aussie or uk?nice reactions and riding skills, not the usual boring test ride
UK. You can tell by the roads and the accent.
Oh shit, that's Brighton? I noticed the pier. I went there on a trip last it it was pretty dank.
Question. You just said you we're 20 riding a 1000cc. I thought the minimum age for a full license was 21 if you've been riding an a2 bike for 3 years or 24 without
He passed his license before the new law came into effect.
The old law, you could ride 33bhp at 17, and get your full license at 19.
The new law, you can ride 47bhp at 19, and get your full license at 21.
If you obtained your full license BEFORE the new law came into effect, it doesn't apply to you.
good deal!
Hey Ollie.
Mate, I literally just got my internets back a half hour ago (4 months without) and thought I better check youtube. Saw this and dived in.
You lucky bastid!!! :-)
Agree about not buying one though...Far to easy to get arrested ;-)
+Blahdeblah52 You have to blow the cobwebs off your PC Al?! I bet you've got your own little social circle down at the library and now youre going to leave them all! ;)Good to hear you got your BT shite sorted though mate, should see if we can get a ride in before the winter months?
Hell yea we should!!! :-)
Great video! And what a blast to ride they are!👍👌
+Bulldog Badger Cheers BB, haha yeah you could say that ;)
1000cc and above rock!!
+banditnev Haha although Im only likely to rock into a wall at triple digits ;)
hey bro are you the one who always had my back on happy wars on x box 360 you sound like it if so let me know i loved the video badass
"i get lean angle, i get ..... stuff" haha
Wait what, 20 years old and you had a 675? But how ? O.O
Great video btw :D
SpartanHDX Btw is all of that country side area Brighton? Looks so nice.
SpartanHDX Wait, just realised "20 years old" was just general speech
SpartanHDX Yep, should've watched the whole thing, it is Brighton XD
TheCrazymook The confusion is real :( And ah nice, I've been there before but yeeears ago, looks like a great area to ride in.
Did it look like Mook really wanted to put his 'shizzle' in that petrol tank instead of petrol pipe?!
...and then...you took the bike back to the dealer..?? Errr mm why??? ;). A little scary around corners for me...stay alive for your 21st yeah!
this is weapon!!!
looks like a joy to ride
+Whabie Whabligone Definitely one way of putting it ;)
you may want to take it for another test ride and make sure you let it go past 8k on the tacho, that things basically asleep at those low revs ;)
I know all about the red light short cuts….I was young and impatient many moons ago :P
+tritriplekylie I did take it past 8k, just chose not to post those bits as I like my license valid ;)Ahh yeah I forgot youre an OAP now =/ Still at least you can get the bus for free eh? ;)
maybe not quite that old, my insurance is cheaper though so I'm happy ;)
like your license? not enough to leave the bit in the twenty zone where your speedo reads 58mph……..may want to point your cam up a little more
Pfft in my mind doing 60 in a 20 is better than doing certain speeds in a 70 =D
over double the speed in any zone is a definite ban. I will say the police don't give a shit if you're doing 30 in the 20's though :)
Even the police do 30 in the 20s around Brighton =P
If
Doesn't stand out to the public? I'll take that deal all day! I don't like to stand out if I am speeding. I would cherish this bike with regular oil changes, valve clearance adjustments, and clean air filters.
I watched the whole video, can't get bored, getting my a2 in a couple months and hopefully I'll work up my way to a liter bike, hopefully I can get a gsx650f next!
that bike is epic
martinnmartin Lol my comment is a few months old, what one? The s1k?
Gsx650f it's like a fake gsxr I love it aha
Man, wish I could get the real deal, issue is license restriction laws in the UK, I'm 19 and am going to be taking my lessons and tests next month, I'm restricted to an a2 license.
i love the way you ride
+Ihsan Koc I love the way you comment
need to ride one that doesn't have the Rev limiter due to the break in period.
I lol´d alot watching this video, so great, a real world review , how they should be done
cheers mate :)
+castrejo67 Thanks matey! =D
in the calmist tone ever and whilst getting ur knee down 'lets try not to wreck it' all kinds of awesome - tossing u off? this ride just gets better - that standard exhaust……..:)
+ivanandhismightysteed Haha the BMW that can do it all, no need for a girlfriend haha... yeah shame the standard can looks so hideous though ;)
watched this twice now haha, great vid
this bike shits all over my 08 r1. love litre bikes. I rode one of these for one day in los angeles last summer. I agree the clutch is too far from the grip. My wrist was aching after riding it all day. Mad bike though.
ur funny :) i like your vid :)
Greetings from Serbia
bmw makes the best machine
Hey man, great vid. Just curious, how were you allowed to ride a 1000 at 20 when you need to be 21 for full license? Am i missing something?😂
Hey mate, I passed my A2 on the old 33bhp law which back then you could do at 17, wait 2 years and automatically get your full A licence after that without another test. So I could legally ride anything after 19 years old!
@@TheCrazymook sorry for getting you to explain that for like the 600th time😂 cheers though. You’re lucky you got to do that before the new rules👍
Wise words at the end. I think that bike would be a licence burner, nice bike though.......where's my cookie. RSM8
+02bigkev A moment of maturity Kev, either that or trying to talk myself out buying one ;)( : : )
love the end..
sore your poorly daytona the other day fella looks better than I thought it would with what happened I hear your looking at getting a r1 my mates got one for grabs 09 rossi rep??
+savage hutch I reckon that's the most annoying part, it hardly looks damaged but underneath its properly fucked ;)
+TheCrazymook I k.ow right looks totally fine outside bet your looming forward to picking the new one up
Naughty bike, it must be punished.
+Hepcat Harley Not too hard though, it bites back ;)
you laugh like mclovin hahaa :) nice video tho
And there's the problem with riders like you, particularly on bikes like the S1000RR which is so easy to ride fast - you ride fast. Not fast for the bike, and maybe not for your ability, but fast for the road and other people on the road. You rightly blur the speedo because you're over, well over the speed limit. It's obvious just from looking at the trees and road signs going past the kind of speeds you were travelling at. At the point that driver pulls out [with what appears to be a reasonable gap] I guess you were doing around 75mph - obviously don't expect you to agree with this estimate! You could have seen that there was a bend with a junction on it coming up from the road signs beforehand, 60mph should've been the max. and probably best to slow a little more given the traffic - if you'd looked you'd also of seen a car waiting at the junction - perhaps a good que to slow a little, below the limit even. I ride sport bikes, I ride sports-tourers. It makes no difference. Your use of speed is poorly judged - there are of course times when exceeding the limit may be safe and there are times when riding at the speed limit is not, let alone well above it. You cannot control other people's actions, so look after yourself. Please take care. If you/anyone else needs a demonstration of how 'fast road riding' can appear completely safe one minute and resulting in death the next, please take 2min to watch this - ua-cam.com/video/hZCadhDW_i0/v-deo.html (RIP David).
You're wrong, I do agree with you 100% (I had to approve this comment to allow it to be publicly shown). I was pushing the bike, probably only saw 40% of its potential, to see what it could do. I had a reality check when I crashed my Panigale in Germany a few weeks back, theres a time and a place to do stuff like this people =)
+TheCrazymook ok, well fair play to you. Keep looking out for other people on the road that are trying to kill you - don't make it easier for them..
Just only watched your honda cbr 125r video..puberty is an amazing thing! 😂
+Ethan Webb Oh gawd... cringey old videos ;P Shame my laugh hasn't been told about the change =D
I'm curious to try one, but I'm sure it is most definitely way too much bike for what I can handle.
I love how that exhaust looks like a massive spliff :p
I may have to get myself over to Brighton for a test ride of some form of BMW
Now where's my cookie?
+Phil480 You'd be surprised mate, they handle _soo_ well they practically ride themselves, you've just gotta hold on tight ;) ...trust you to think of a joint.. Im not going to be able to look at one without thinking that now ;P( : : ) one internets cookie (its the best I can do =D)
I ride that seafront road every day cool to see a local vlogger :)
+Supertards Nice, what'd you ride, Ill have to keep my eyes peeled for you =)
TheCrazymook Sinnis apache white 125 lil bit modded with a ktm headlight etc! always see a guy on a white ktm adventure bike on that road also
Wow you're such a great rider and at such a young age too!! You rode that 1000 like it was nothing! Great channel subscribed :D
By the way, how tall are you?
+VirusZero0140 Haha Ill take _that_ as the highest compliment ;) Thanks for watching mate! I'm 6' nothing =)
Probably used about 100bhp there mate. The big power only comes in after 11000 rpm. Nice riding though for a kid....
sic vid bro super sweet bike
+Adam Buckby Thanks mate =)
The reach is horrible, bought and installed the hp levers before i left the show room with it
+MrPanda415 Don't blame you, Id do the same!
How much did they cost and how's your back feel now? Better?
wait you're 20 and can ride a 1000cc in UK? am I missing something?
No, I passed my A2 restricted (33bhp) license at 17, and the restriction ended by the time I was 19 so could legally ride any bike by 19 :)
Ahh
I'm guessing you have to be a certain age for different cc bikes?!
Great video, nice bike and all. I doubt you need my opinion, but I couldn't not notice that... you laugh is like an injured dog, sorry to say this but its what goes through my head
Had an new S1000RR come past me the other day and can definitely say the overrun pops are intoxicating :D And quite loud for a stock can!
As for the CC of the bike I would probably be dead or have no license within the first week of owning one in my 20's! I'm going to start on a 400 sports bike when 19 and build up from there :D Will probably help to carry speed through corners!
P.s Where's my cookie and Hi ;)
+Ethan Senior If the standard can had carbon fibre then itll be one Id keep but you should know me, the carbon sluuut ;)Sensible thing to do starting on smaller bikes mate, youll actually be better in the long run as you learn so much more riding a bike you can actually get close to its limits =DHi! ( : : ) < yeeeah that's your cookie, don't laugh xD
Carbon fibre! Mmmmmmmm :D That's my plan as I will have to learn to carry the speed on a 400 as there is only 60-70bhp to use so can't accelerate out of a corner like a 600.
While I type this comment I am actually eating a Cookie :S Illuminati is real! Have one spare so I'll just eat it on your behalf ;) HEHE
You thought about getting a 650? Same sort of power, 70-80bhp but a lot more torque =)
Not sure if bought cookies just so you could write that comment? ;)
Have been looking at Suzuki SV-650's and Yamaha MT07 :D I was thinking if I can afford it sports bike (A2 Suitable) and a Supermoto :) If I can't run two bikes then it will most likely be a 650 V-Twin. We will see!
Definitely didn't see comment and buy cookies before replying.... Had it with my lunch as an excuse to get out the house and play in the twisted with other bikers :D
You owe me a cookie...
+Psycho Paul (: :)
that would be my exact reaction to cruise control xD
+TheFriskyBiker Youre such a wanna-be Frisky! ;P
Obvs ;))
Your very lucky haha! I'm 20 in the uk full license, and nobody will let me test ride anything (N)
buena maquina!
my future A licence dream bike! haha
Me too
I'm guessing you learned that NO quick shifter works properly and are not made to work when down shifting, that's why the clutch is still there.
and i thought the clutch is just there for reving xD ;)
lol!
Ducati makes the 1,200 cc super bike with like 220 hp what's the big deal about high cc
U didin’t try (slik) mode ?!!!!! Really s1000rr all about that mate
Good video, but take your Gopro off of super wide angle we can then get a true sense of speed and not the bending lamp post one!
You LUCKY SHIT, im so jealous lol
mook u really r crazy!! :)
Im here for the cookie :-)
Picking one up in 2 weeks
+Godfrey Smith Lucky bastid! Id say have fun, but I know you will ;)
At 3:20, I've never been to Brighton!
No premium gas there ?
+Hippie Dreadz Not at that particular pump, one next to it had 97 octane =)
5000th subscriber!
+Hugo Vinicius Cheers mate, Id like to offer you an internet cookie ;P
+TheCrazymook I appreciate your cookie, mate :)
I'm guessing you have an A2 licence :-D But how on earth are you riding this with 1 year left till you can take the full A?! Im 19 with my A2 and I need this bike once I can haha
+Steven Martin Nope got a full A license =) Did my test at 17 under the older 33bhp restricted A2 ;)
I'm really interested how you say you are 20 years old, cos if so you can't ride that bike in the UK, which you clearly were!
So come on...what's the crack
That aside I liked the vid, great bike, you just wanted to go faster and faster didn't you😜
Stan 👊
He passed his license before the new law came into effect.
The old law, you could ride 33bhp at 17, and get your full license at 19.
The new law, you can ride 47bhp at 19, and get your full license at 21.
