I'm British and only two years older than Eve yet I have no idea what a Go Go is?! We had Tamagotchis in primary school though, did anyone else have "Golden Time" on a Friday afternoon too?
I'm two years older too we had go Gos in primary school they are like collectable figurines, no idea why they were so popular lol , but I still have mine
my school we get macbooks for free and we get to keep them and we have ipad pros to bring home for research papers. btw i live in wisconsin and in all of our classrooms we have a smart board and a tv for our school broadcasts
Once in my primary school a supply teacher used the smart board and grabbed a normal white board pen and wrote on the smart board !! 😂😂😂 The mark is still there to this day
One time my friend got her pupils dilated and in art we had to trace something from the laptop with a sharpie and the teacher wouldn't let me help and now she has a big sharpie mark on the computer
My school is BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) school so we're allowed to use it in class whenever we need to do research. We're also allowed to have our phones out during lunch and in between classes. (Also *small rant* WHOS TERRIBLE IDEA WAS IT TO GET RID OF BOOK FAIRS IN HIGH SCHOOL? 😭)
Mine is too! In almost every class I get to listen to music during the whole class, which helps me concentrate. My math class last year was hell for me because we weren't allowed to have them, so I had a lot of panic attacks, just because I couldn't use it to calm down or to concentrate better
That's pretty much the same with my school, but they give us laptops that we bring in and we're only allowed to use our phones at break and lunch if we're at our lockers to check them.
(Im in a America btw) but at my middle school if they catch you with your phone or it goes off you have to pay 15 dollars to get it back the first time. *THEY MADE US PAY 20 DOLLARS FOR A LOCKER ASWELL*
+AngerIntheBubbles waiiiiiiit aren't u Samantha? Don't be creeped out btw XD I just met u once at a leaving party and put paper bowls on our heads and I follow u on wattpad and I hope this isn't the wrong person

Omg. The Scholastic Book Fairs were my favorite days to go to school in elementary school. I was a huge reader back then (still am to an extent today) and my mom used to let me buy books. We'd get the little form that said all of the books that could be bought. We'd fill it out and return it to the book fair table and then like 2-3 weeks later I'd get around 10-15 books to be picked up at school. Those days were heaven to me. :)
This is amazing. I remember having the rolly tv things in Primary school and the projector things that were used in Assembly for the words while singing. When I was in sixth form (i finished back in June) my teachers let us have our phones out but it was only to listen to music. Although if the internet was down at the sixth form and we needed to research something briefly, they did let us get our phones out and use the internet on them.
Oh man, the overhead projectors! I haven't seen one of those in a long time. I used to love blinding people with the little magnifying glass thingy at the top. The vis a vis markers. The clear plastic paper slides that the teacher wrote notes on. I miss school.....
when i was in high school (2 years ago) teachers never understood how youtube worked and every time they tried to show like a movie clip or something they'd see an ad and go "oh this isn't it" and click off the video
my school has no vegan or vegetarian options, our break is 10 minutes and our lunch is like 45 minutes, I always just hang out in the theater with my theater friends.
I'm 16 and grew up on the transition.90's kid life was me until high school then I got an iPhone and all the perks of today's technology (still not into basic stuff and social media tho) I basically got the perfect mix
I went to school during the middle of these two sides. This changed from Evan's time to Eve's time when I was in middle - late middle school because I can remember both.
We played farmer farmer but it was ore like bull dog because we didn’t have to say anything we just had to wait until everyone was in the semi circle then we can run and it got banned so we called it tractor tractor and they didn’t notice but we let forgetting it so we changed it to chicken chicken but then we didn’t really care anymore so we called it farmer farmer again and the teachers didn’t even notice
When I was in school, I got caught passing notes to my then-boyfriend and my head of year made me do my work at the front of the class and threatened to read the note out to the entire school at assembly. :(
I remember when I was in high school years ago.I had to ask one of my parents to sign this book every week that was basically a diary and they didn’t sign it every week then you would get into trouble. Those were dark times.I still get nightmares of those times at high school 😰
My school did that for a year and it was so annoying to remember. I couldn’t even forge my parents’ signature because both their signatures are illegible squiggles so I got in trouble a lot :(
I remember our teacher getting angry in high school and smashing his fist on the glass and it went everywhere. Good times. Good times. There were also always spiderwebs stuck under the glass so whenever a teacher put on slides there was this spiderweb in the background.
Watching this is giving me so much anxiety. Like wow secondary school is basically the time in everyone's lives when the world has decided you have to follow more rules than you will ever have to follow outside of school, to prepare you for the relatively few rules you have to follow in life.
I think that’s something to do with religion, technically although the uk is multicultural the more hey is still Christian and most Christian divisions don’t eat meat on Fridays and that’s why fish and chip Fridays are a thing. Now in most schools it is just a routine and had become known for pizza Fridays 😂
I just wanna say Evan, I really appreciate you trying really hard to make sure all your videos are close-captioned, even if you ask viewers to help you with it, you care about it a lot and both of my parents are fully deaf and always want to know what I'm watching, so they get really happy when they can watch your videos with me :) thank you xx
In my school there was this one guy who kept getting in trouble and the teachers kept staying like your never going to be successful if you don’t do well in school and he said that he has his own fan club and a strong online following, which he dint, and so the whole school rallyes together in two days to make an instagram page called ‘guys name fan page’ and the teachers where so shocked when they found it and he has never gotten in to rubble since
All the girls started doing it before the boys so none of the boys did and it was the only time girl's were doing anything related to football because a bunch of us had older brothers good times
My school in Ireland doesn’t let us use phones at all either, but most people just use it in the bathroom. Also, my school used to force us to get planners signed too, it was so annoying! It’s weird how similar our schools are!
In religion class we had to use really old encyclopedias for our end presentations. Other classes we could use our home computers. We had the old tv on the roll cart and also some small flatscreens, but those got stolen a few times. A 24-rings binder was the standard here.
We're supposed to get our planners sign, but my parents never cared and neither did my teacher so on the rare occasion she checked it was signed, everyone just forged it!
I remember when, if you wanted to make a phone call, you had to go over to the phone hanging on the wall, pick up the receiver, turn the crank on the side of the phone several times and hold the earpiece to your ear and speak into the part that held the microphone on the main part of the phone. And then, everyone else who was on the same line would listen in. While I was born quite some time after that day, I remember when kids didn't have cell phones in school unless your parents were really well off.
I remember one time there was a massive showdown in the common room about how person A blocked person B on social media. And the reason A blocked B was because B said A took too many selfies and A got upset. This is what school is these days.
I used to go to a charter school and in elementary we had 2 like 20 minute breaks a day, snack was usually goldfish or whatever you brought, lunches were either burgers, Mac n Cheese, or pizza, and oh my God I loved when they had the TV (especially in second grade cause it ment we would watch liberty kids) then in middle school the only break we got was a half an hour lunch (which varied alot) and we didn't have the TV any more, but when they roll in the chrome book cart, I always love it
They have recess in high school there?! I haven't had a free period since I was 10 or 11! We have lunch, but it's like 15 minutes and it takes forever to get your food and eat it. We are also HIGHLY encouraged to do work while we eat. It sucks butt. This one girl collapsed because she had work due and hadn't eaten or drank anything during lunch.
Toph Beifong In a Metro-Detroit Public school. It's an immigrant community and most of us have immigrant parents, so the pressure is even higher to make our lives better than theirs. A lot of people just drop out because the pressure from the school is so high.
I go to a really expensive school in Colorado and we haven't had recess since 6th grade. Middle school and highschool just has a short lunch (although it's longer than 15 mins idk) and as kids progress through the grades they start eating less and less during lunch so that they can study
At my school iPads are required and Netflix is blocked but not much else... half the class watches UA-cam in class. I was once in a class where a sports game was playing and everyone was streaming it in class, it was awesome
We played red rover too but in primary school. In the last two years of high school we are such sitting in our classroom , singing bollywood songs and dancing to them during break.(Electronics are not allowed in our school)
+Grace Scanlon we get fresh fish from the local fishmonger delivered every Friday and it's like the only decent meal. They used to do a really good curry and I'd have it with the pasta but they changed it :(
my school has ipads now (it's awful oh my god i miss paper) and as soon as we get worksheets my friends google the answer key and find it almost instantly it's really funny honestly
Man my school experience was so much more like Evan's even though I only finished inn 2013. Like, yes, we had phones and social media but we didn't really have them in school. i only got an iPhone in my last two years of school so the whole been on your phone in school thing only happened then for me.
I still have huge TVs, overheads, and actual like big book fairs in my school library. I’m in middle school. Apparently the American school system is way behind.
I remember in elementary school the biggest thing was silly bands which are bracelets shaped like animals and stuff and when they got banned it was because people were trading them and getting them getting upset. Some kids just started wearing them on their arms under their shirts and sold them
well done had a conversation with my teenage daughter she said about the same as eve can't believe how out of touch I am but always good to know, my main concern is bullying so thanks for this video, the mammys need to know.
If we were caught with our phones on school property they're taken away and the only way to get them back is to get your parents to collect them so no one really uses them :p and we're allowed youtube but only in years 10 and 11 and we can use the computers in the ICT rooms or the ones in the school library for homework
I'm in college now, but in my high school, most of the classrooms had an overhead projector which the teachers used to show movies on DVD. The big clunky TV cart was used for VHS tapes (which were still used as often as the DVDs).
what the hell? American Schools have the worst lunches (in my opinion and experience). I literally had to bring my own lunch because it was so terrible 😝
From an upper middle class school in Michigan:Phones - Teachers don't care if we go on it unless they're talking.Lunch - Lunch is OK, we have the regular hot food (chicken nuggets, pizza, hamburgers, fries), and the cold food (salads, deli subs, yogurt), as well as a snack bar that sold little snacks and nachos. Monday was chef's choice, taco Tuesday, Wednesday was pasta?, Thursday was broccoli cheddar soup and bread bowls, and Friday was pizza day.The only break we have in school is Lunch.Every teacher has a whiteboard, and most have a smart board. I haven't seen a chalkboard since elementary school. We have computer labs, as well as a library for research, but everyone uses their phones to do it.
Also, we don't have the big TV's anymore, not since elementary school. Teachers just have a digital copy of the movie and play it from the projector. I just finished my Junior year btw so grade school was like... 7-8 years ago
Our school is so tech forward. The High School had MacBooks, the Middle and Elementary have iPads and every teacher has both. We also have SmartBoards and almost everything we do is on websites called Canvas, ALEKS, and PowerSchool.
Tip for passing notes: get a small piece of lined paper and put it over your book (ya know line up the lines and stuff) and write as if you're taking notes.
It's stupid imo, if the school wants to contact parents they should contact them direct not via notes in a planner. Before high school started I taught my daughter my signature so we could avoid the stress of it. It's come in handy outwith the planner too 😁 PS. I trust her, so no worries about potential 'misuse'.
my friend in school learnt how to forge her mums signature and her mum was okay with it bc of how stupid it was that they had to sign them in the first place @@jessicataylor7174
key to passing notes rip a peice of paper, write the note on it, role it up, put the note inside your pen around the ink well, give the person the pen with the note.
In primary school (year 2000!), we had a supply teacher and she wrote on the overhead projector screen in whiteboard pen. When our teacher came back she was like "she's written on my screen. I can't believe she's done that"
Im a higher schooler in NY state and we are allowed to use cell phones in the hallways, during study halls, lunches, free periods (basically anytime you dont have an actual class). Sometimes during class a teacher will ask someone to use their phone to google something for the class. Or sometimes we can use phones for calculators (not during a test, just doing class work). In French class we can use our phones to use "Word Reference,"which is basically a translator/dictionary online. So phone use is pretty lax at my school and depending on which teachers you have the rules can becomes even more loose.
Same and then I changed schools and we got windows computers. My district were the first to get the windows and they didn't really worked because we were their lab rats. And now they say they are going to test something else on us. I mean why us?
My school is in the process of introducing BYOD (bring your own device - can be laptop or tablet but not phones). This year it was compulsory for juniors (year 9 & 10s) and encouraged for seniors (11-13s), but the teachers get used to using devices with their junior classes so will generally let senior students use their phones for research just because it's easier than booking a computer room/ordering the netbooks/making students share. Classes we use devices in the most tend to be english (teachers like typed essays as they are easier to mark than handwritten) and languages (kahoot/language perfect)
bruh. my school is so chill about phones. we can use them outside of classrooms all the time, and sometimes in class depending on the teacher. we used to sneak them all the time in middle school, but i think that was mainly because they told us not to. also, because we had all just gotten actual phones. like iphone and samsungs, rather than little call-only ones.
bloody hell you have 30 minute breaks?? we have a 10 minute break and a 30 minute lunch, but we used to have a 15 minute break and 1 hour lunch but then they decided to put 7 periods in a day 😒
in my school we get to use our phones whenever we want. i mean we can't use it when the teacher is talking or teaching a lesson but otherwise we can use our phones during lunch and free time in class. kids are always listening to music as well. They aren't too strict with the phone policy. if you are on your phone during a lesson or when your teacher is talking you can get it taken away but most the time you just get a warning.
Haha. My teacher wanted us girls to play it as a 'warm up' we told her it was banned so she just called it jellyfish and the people in the middle were jellyfish.
It's 2021 and most schools in the Philippines either use blackboards, TVs, or "modern" (2000s-2010s) projectors. I've heard of smart boards before, and I heard they were gonna get installed in a private school I went to from Grades 1-4, but they're not as prevalent here as they should be. Heck, even tablets aren't that prevalent. Plus our computer labs are quite small, and although the internet is slow, at least school staff aren't smart enough to know how to block websites or something. Also, at least here, we're allowed to use phones during recess, breaks, lunch, and certain times when the teacher specifically permits it during class (either for research or to make us quiet while they sleep or go somewhere).
I have yet to have a teacher who knows how to disable the autoplay feature on UA-cam.
Sameeeee
Norton Robey Same
Norton Robey I've taught the majority of my teachers how to turn it off because they legitimately don't know how it's so funny
Norton Robey true. My chemistry teacher didn't even know how to press cancel.
Norton Robey omfg yes
In my school they blocked almost every game site, so I use Cool Math Games. It's not blocked and it has barely any actual maths games.
I used to love that game! We played it all the time!
Try unblocked games
They blocked cool math games this year at my school and the entire high school signed a petition to unban it... no success yet
'unblocked games 66' was banned in the search bar. I used 'unblocked chayms 66' and it worked until a while ago.
Jack same
AHH so glad we collabed! 😝
This was a great video !

How the heck does the phandom hijack everything
Bulldog got banned like everywhere I swear I remember everyone was so mad
same we just said we were playing "red rover"
We said we were playing fish and chips
Or ketchup
Newt Scamander we called our bulldog bananas in primary because we were so creative at the age of 8 😂
Newt Scamander Someone broke they're arm and got concussion playing bulldog.
I feel like school in the 90s compared to school now is the same
it still sucks
My elementary school was basically a 90's school while my middle and high schools r 00's schools. its weird
+Amy P yeah same here, i could relate to like 95% of the stuff evan talked about
Same, plus my school still has books from 20 years ago with the wrong provinces and stuff in it lmao.
In a old history text book it says instead of African slave it says African workers
I'm British and only two years older than Eve yet I have no idea what a Go Go is?! We had Tamagotchis in primary school though, did anyone else have "Golden Time" on a Friday afternoon too?

"Large flat screen t.v.s"...Evan. How much money do you think is budgeted to schools for that kind of high-tech technology?!?!??
NH.-B there is a 60 inch flat screen in every classroom plus a computer for everyone
Kayla Clemens not in most uk schools ._.
@@mysticflower7727 not in most American schools either

On the banning Pokemon thing- my elementary school had to ban Silly Bandz. Oh, 2009, you were a simpler time.
Kennedy O'Day we banned slap bands because they were to much of a distraction
silly bandz,,, oh my god. That was a time
My school had to ban both loom bands (in 2014) AND silly bandz (in 2009)!
when i was in second grade they banned shopkins
When I was 6 I basically ran a silly band black market
I LOVE THIS COLLAB
same :)))
Oh my god there was someone at my school who made an Instagram burn book. 😂😂
My school too!!!!! It was called @{{{my towns name}}}.gossip
Nicole Cook we had a burn book page on facebook for our high school. It was pretty pathetic.
Nicole Cook one of the girls made an Instagram page and posted people's nudes on them
Everyone at our school knows the school website password and someone has turned it into a burn book
Rosa McLellan omg haha

I love these VS videos so much!
+Ryro Hope Thanks Ryro!
I remember one time there was a massive showdown in the common room about how person A blocked person B on social media. And the reason A blocked B was because B said A took too many selfies and A got upset. This is what school is these days.
I used to go to a charter school and in elementary we had 2 like 20 minute breaks a day, snack was usually goldfish or whatever you brought, lunches were either burgers, Mac n Cheese, or pizza, and oh my God I loved when they had the TV (especially in second grade cause it ment we would watch liberty kids) then in middle school the only break we got was a half an hour lunch (which varied alot) and we didn't have the TV any more, but when they roll in the chrome book cart, I always love it
We have our own chrome books to keep but in elementary we had the chrome book shelf on the wheels thingy ( what u had)
Not only does this video make me feel old it makes me incredibly jealous!
Wow, that’s awful! Schools in Ireland generally have two free periods, break (20 mins in my school) and lunch (45 mins).
At my school iPads are required and Netflix is blocked but not much else... half the class watches UA-cam in class. I was once in a class where a sports game was playing and everyone was streaming it in class, it was awesome
The one hit song things are like what they used to sell in McDonalds.
omg yesss😂😻
I had a Mc Fly one that I swear...
I had a I Gotta feeling one by the black eyed peas 😂😂
I was part of a rubber band bracelet business in 5th grade. It got shut down pretty soon after my first paycheck.
my school lets us use our phones in breaks but not in class. and we have smart boards and proojecters on the ceiling
Yoanna Kim Yeah
We played red rover too but in primary school. In the last two years of high school we are such sitting in our classroom , singing bollywood songs and dancing to them during break.(Electronics are not allowed in our school)
Oh my god British Bulldogs is the reason I have fake teeth. Not even kidding- my top two front teeth are fake af
I broke my arm two years ago in year 6😂
+Panic! It's Phoebe haha aww
Panic! It's Phoebe omg same
GOGOS OH MY GOD THIS IS THE MOST RELATEABLE VIDEO WHO TF IS THIS GIRL I LOVE HER OK
Fish and chips day? So British.
Literally every school in England has fish and chip Friday haha
+Grace Scanlon aww mine doesn't :(
+Grace Scanlon we get fresh fish from the local fishmonger delivered every Friday and it's like the only decent meal. They used to do a really good curry and I'd have it with the pasta but they changed it :(
+Grace Scanlon fish and chip Friday is for Catholics because we don't eat meat on Friday
+That emoji girl I don't go to a catholic school... It may just be a catholic tradition that we've adopted?
Okay... this is the perfect combination of people!!
my school has ipads now (it's awful oh my god i miss paper) and as soon as we get worksheets my friends google the answer key and find it almost instantly it's really funny honestly
You're only cheating yourself 😡
Man my school experience was so much more like Evan's even though I only finished inn 2013. Like, yes, we had phones and social media but we didn't really have them in school. i only got an iPhone in my last two years of school so the whole been on your phone in school thing only happened then for me.
I still have huge TVs, overheads, and actual like big book fairs in my school library. I’m in middle school. Apparently the American school system is way behind.
gogo’s were my LIFE! I still have my collection today and I’m forever proud.
Shes so pretty omg
The website my friends and I played on when we were kids was Cool Math Games, I still love it
My school is very different from her on the case of using phones.
I remember in elementary school the biggest thing was silly bands which are bracelets shaped like animals and stuff and when they got banned it was because people were trading them and getting them getting upset. Some kids just started wearing them on their arms under their shirts and sold them
8:00 Beyblade is what we had. They took over from Pokemon cards. They got banned 😢
well done had a conversation with my teenage daughter she said about the same as eve can't believe how out of touch I am but always good to know, my main concern is bullying so thanks for this video, the mammys need to know.
CONGRATS ON 200K
+Rachel Workman THANKS
Omg no one even my age remembers hit clips, every time I bring them up people think I'm crazy!
congrats on 200,000!!!!!
+lavacookiie Thanks!
The first time I watched this video was shortly after it came out and I have been subbed to Eve's channel ever since.
what the hell? American Schools have the worst lunches (in my opinion and experience). I literally had to bring my own lunch because it was so terrible 😝
My high school has a Chick-Fil-A across the street and an IN-N-OUT Burger around the corner, but it sucked because the school is CLOSED CAMPUS!!!
Kennan Dunn I feel your pain, it's the same with mine :(
same.
same
phantastically__me
In the Netherlands you have to bring your own lunch to school
Our school has chips. Just chips and some chocolate. And water. Ireland everybody, we're healthy.
Ciara Mckeon we truly are the healthiest
Our school is so tech forward. The High School had MacBooks, the Middle and Elementary have iPads and every teacher has both. We also have SmartBoards and almost everything we do is on websites called Canvas, ALEKS, and PowerSchool.
WE HAVE THE SIGNING THE PLANNER THING TOO!!!
Tip for passing notes: get a small piece of lined paper and put it over your book (ya know line up the lines and stuff) and write as if you're taking notes.
Omg i thought it was just our school that you had to sign the planners
Right!?
Mine used to do that but now we all have our own iPads with our planners on
I've had to do that for every school I've been to
It's stupid imo, if the school wants to contact parents they should contact them direct not via notes in a planner. Before high school started I taught my daughter my signature so we could avoid the stress of it. It's come in handy outwith the planner too 😁
PS. I trust her, so no worries about potential 'misuse'.
my friend in school learnt how to forge her mums signature and her mum was okay with it bc of how stupid it was that they had to sign them in the first place @@jessicataylor7174
key to passing notes
rip a peice of paper, write the note on it, role it up, put the note inside your pen around the ink well, give the person the pen with the note.
we changed bulldog to dogbull and man hunt to seek and destroy
In primary school (year 2000!), we had a supply teacher and she wrote on the overhead projector screen in whiteboard pen. When our teacher came back she was like "she's written on my screen. I can't believe she's done that"
Off topic question: Do you set up your camera before every video, or is it always pointed at your bed? :D
😏
-oh god-
Im a higher schooler in NY state and we are allowed to use cell phones in the hallways, during study halls, lunches, free periods (basically anytime you dont have an actual class).
PINOF 7 TODAY HOW EXCITED ARE YOU EVAN
I agree with the folder/binder thing. I personally use a five star notebook cause they're so nice :)
At my school were given chrome-books as an experiment for the government 😁
Same
me too
We're getting them in my school after the Christmas holiday.
***** Thanks! XD
My primary school was legit a 90's school
Congrats on 200k evan! :D
British humour vs American humour!
bruh. my school is so chill about phones. we can use them outside of classrooms all the time, and sometimes in class depending on the teacher. we used to sneak them all the time in middle school, but i think that was mainly because they told us not to. also, because we had all just gotten actual phones. like iphone and samsungs, rather than little call-only ones.
bloody hell you have 30 minute breaks?? we have a 10 minute break and a 30 minute lunch, but we used to have a 15 minute break and 1 hour lunch but then they decided to put 7 periods in a day 😒
we have 8 periods and two 15 minute breaks and an hour lunch
+harry laverick i have 8 periods, no breaks, and a halfhour lunch
+Elsa Huffman Same
We have 8 periods but we still have a 20 minute break and an hour and a bit for lunch????
We had 5 periods of 50mins. 30min morning break then 1hr 10min for lunch. We finished at 4 though.
in my school we get to use our phones whenever we want. i mean we can't use it when the teacher is talking or teaching a lesson but otherwise we can use our phones during lunch and free time in class. kids are always listening to music as well. They aren't too strict with the phone policy. if you are on your phone during a lesson or when your teacher is talking you can get it taken away but most the time you just get a warning.
Eve we played bulldog at break time but then it got banned so we changed the name to pineapple 😂
We changed it to chihuahua...
+- Georgia G - haha
Same 😂 We called it dragonese
Haha. My teacher wanted us girls to play it as a 'warm up' we told her it was banned so she just called it jellyfish and the people in the middle were jellyfish.
We changed it like 15 times no lie at one point it was called pog
OMG IT IS EVE!
Fancy seeing your face again
Tom says will you go out with him😉
imchloegoodwin hah hi chloe.
Also I think it is you he wants ;)
+Meg Vlogz wtf did I just witness
Harrison English It's confusing...We know each other in real life. Kind of an inside joke between a few people
