Blows my mind how much these amazing creatures learn from each other. Seeing Kiki and Riki watching so intently to make sure they didn’t miss anything important! Just reinforces how important it is that babies stay with their momma’s. It’s so sad all the orphans at BOS and OFI. As much as I hate to see these guys in captivity, I’m not sure what’s worse. Being in captivity with your family and being well cared for...or being at a place like BOS with really no true family, still being hand reared by humans and in captivity to a certain point, to be released into the wild with the possibility of poachers, deforestation, etc. I’m always for these guys being in their natural habitat, but at what cost? At least Riki gets to grow up with his Momma and Grandma, and a loving extended family. And while I know none of these guys could ever make it in the wild, it’s still good to see so much of their natural instincts on display.
I agree. These governments need held accountable for loss of habitat. They take bribes from palm oil. They need to stop it or be charged with the murder of an endangered species
