Euge has come to save us from the things we guitarists have been doing for decades. Joel Hoekstra's use of pentatonics is clever as well. This is actually why I got into stuff like 90s In Flames. I liked their use of melodies instead of cycled pentatonic licks at high tempos--something I'm embarrassingly bad at because I don't practice them. Appreciation and respect always, Mr. Euge! Hey Euge , had to catch back up with you !! We are exact twins with what's going on with our hair I just noticed finally... Good o Norwegian or say old Norwegian... What's funny is I just wish it was exact in playing.. rockin stuff stuffing it bro.. love your styles.. great lesson here to learn , you simply wreck any scale pentatonic or not. I need to practice more to just do you on slow speed.. Wylde stuff was crazy fast and beautiful rhythmics ... One of these days maybe I will catch-up to you in playing but our hair will be much longer than ... ☮️. And take care Euge
I play that last note after the end of the low end notes too!! No one taught me to do that, I've never seen anyone else do that.... until now! Maybe I heard it and and subconsciously added it. I don't know. I just hit it one day when I was practicing scales. It sounded good and * felt * good so I just kept doing it. I still do it 30 odd years later. I am getting flash backs now that I think about it 😆 My best friend, who taught me a lot on guitar (Euge reminds me of him a lot. lol), kept correcting me asking me why added the note. I said I didn't know, it just happened. After a while he left me to do it because it worked for me. This have given me a lot of ideas to help get my playing back on track. Thanks Euge 🤘🤘🤘
Yeah I played the high E just to highlight the key (E) of the licks a bit more but it’s also a good / safe way to end a solo with the note that is also the key of the song 😎👌.
I've actually been working on some pentatonic variations... extended patterns...that's what I call em. It's been a great exercise. I want to get it down so I can pull it out of the trick bag😅. Rock on 🤘 Euge
