Samurai Manji has taken a lot of lives, both innocent and guilty, and now lives life in feudal Japan as a criminal. What an awesome movie. Saw it last night and it was fantastic. The last 40 minutes are so action packed and the production values are great!
That movie looks ridiculous... and I honestly can't wait to see it.
Reminds me of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice but more ridiculous in it's own way.

This movie is a manga adapted into anime and then became live action.
Takashi Miike is like the Edgar Wright of Asian cinema. His movies are not only great, but they're brilliantly beautiful to behold. I wish all directors would strive to be as creative as Takashi Miike. One hundred movies, and the man is still putting them out, without hitting his peak and falling off. That, in itself, is an amazing accomplishment!
Word Unheard What makes Miike so great is he can go to any genre/taboo subject and no matter how outrageous or off the wall it is such a work of art that you are instantly hooked. Miike can also do serious drama and musical too. The man is a god damn legend.

Nothing special at all, Park Chan-wook also touches taboo subjects here and there, and he is millions times better than Miike.

You have very good points, my friend, and I grant you those most definitely. He's kind of like Nicholas Cage. His bad movies are god awful and his great ones are fucking amazing. Personally, since he directed both Blade of the Immortal, 13 ASSASSINS and Ichi: The Killer, I really don't care about the shitty stuff he makes. When he pulls it off, it's fucking great. But once again, you're right in your points. Didn't he direct those fucking terrible Dead or Alive game movies? lmao

Takashi Miike is a great fit for Blade of the Immortal. His filmmaking could elevate this adaptation to stand on its own. I hope he doesn't dissapoint, so far the film is looking pretty fine; close to the source material in visuals and tone and seemingly loyal to Miike's style. Special mention to the perfect casting, at least in regards to appearance.
Man this movie was one of a kind The cinematography the colors it’s fantastic I wished they make more brutal samurai movies like this 🔥
This movie is a modern day masterpiece and this trailer is dope as hell.

I grew up watching masterpiece movies like the good and the bad and the ugly and so on I am a huge movie buff of many genres of movie's and I love action film's alot too like Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson and Chuck Norris and John wick and so on great actors like Charlton Heston and Gregory peck and so on but I have to say I absolutely love this movie this is one of the most awesome movie's of it's kind ever and manji is like a superhero this Japanese film , plot , story , soundtrack , scenery acting and actors just is awesome !!! This is one of my favorite movies of all time ever now and I love this movie !!! Great awesome director , actors !!! Everything about this movie kick's ass and I love it !!! Great awesome movie !!! I give it five stars and two siskel and Ebert thumbs up !!! On the scale of 1 to 10 in movie's it's an 11 easily !!! All the actors and actresses in this movie are awesome and outstanding and the director is awesome he should do a western or a horror film or a adventure/ fantasy film or even a sci-fi film !!!

This is on Hulu! It was the craziest action packed film I've ever seen. Manji is called the hundred killer and he earns that name in the very start of the film. Great Takashi Miike film.

I just watched this , it is totally amazing . 1st class acting, great photography and amazing fight scenes . The big plus is that it has one of my all time favourite Japanese actresses in it Chiaki Kuriyama a.k.a Gogo Yubari

80% of story in Manga has been neglected or omitted and many scenes were completely changed. Lack of intimacy and chemistry between Manji and Rin and so many other characters disappoints a bit but still, great action movie. If you haven't seen the original manga I suggest you enjoy the original as well because it's one of the best manga in Japanese manga history imo. Original manga is 100000000 times more cruel and better story. I watched the manga a while ago and I just could not feel the chemistry between characters in the movie.. But the sword-fight action alone is quite enjoyable. 10/10
I think so too. In the Manga manji said himself, he get more and more a worst fighter for beeing immortal and have difficulties with one enemy. Here he can fight with 100 at once. Bullshit

It's a downer he always get beaten to death, if it weren't for his bloodworms he would have lost every single fight against his main adversaries. Otherwise, for a fan of japanese film in general, Samurai,Yakuza films etc, an adaptation of a Manga that's actually really watchable, and well made. That scene with the girl with the Manriki-Gusari-style weapon, I have to say; I just saw it coming - why is he pushing his back against the flimsy wooden wall like that, she could easily sta...B HIM!!💥 And she did.

This is samurai/martial-arts adjacent, but I liked a japanese action/comedy movie called "why don't you play in hell", that involves a group of film buffs trying to make a movie getting mixed up in a yakuza gang war.
This movie was fucking brutal. Death is shown from beginning to end literally.
If you like japanese movies, watch any Kurosawa or Kitano films, the 2 japanese masters (for a more serious approach).
