with Billy Bultheel, Eliza Douglas, and Anne Imhof
Deriving from the performance and exhibition-staged by Anne Imhof at the
57th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia-the album Faust is part documentation and part elaboration, the sonic capture and extrapolation of the gestures, intensities, and durations of the live event. Serving as the dramatic backbone of the several-hour long performance at the 2017 German Pavilion, the soundtrack was a product of the collective and its individuals, written by Anne Imhof and her collaborators Billy Bultheel, Eliza Douglas, and Franziska Aigner.

i cant believe i ever took myself, or any of this, seriously. po faced art world discourse. and now after having spent 4 years in germany, at the schule, as student and 'employee', having my 'work' and influences, in my personal opinion, coopted, claimed, taken, by professors and students alike, or leveraged against me in acts of coercion, who then turn around and want more, and claim more, to take more, and being stalked on digital devices and in real physical life, in every town that ive been in, by people referencing professors or the school or grants or works or any other associations, while now living in a 20 year old vehicle, is sick, and yet another aspect of how absurd this whole 'scene' is. in my opinion, spoiled, self indulgent, incestuous, elitist, and more. i remember a gallerist at a bar in frankfurt who it seemed to me in my personal opinion / impression, was asked by a schule 'affiliate' to consider my work, and Annas, and he told the 'affiliate' while standing inches from me, without batting an eye, that me and my work were 'not interesting' and they were very interested in Anna. i wish no hate or negativity on Anna. it makes sense that a German institution would support a young german female, for nationalistic purpose, as well as contemporary feminist advancement, and young enough to 'invest' in for a long career (i was an 'old dinosaur' who at best was expected to be employed at a professors personal atelier (at least that is my personal opinion / impression), to which i declined and was promptly sent 'home' to the usa. so happy to be 'home', and not amidst this BS as an extorted visa dependent life leveraged 'guest'.on a critical note, the vocals, especially in english, sound typically german choppy and pitchy monotone flat, ja? like nico from the velvet underground, whos voice i dont care for and i think is seriously way over rated. personally, in my opinion, shes one reason NOT to listen to the velvet underground. im out :) (how is that for 'authenticity'?)
