Hey man you’re using the wad trimmer to trim your hulls down with Gary’s kit, the part you pulled out and said you’ve never used is the hull trimmer. Switch them around and it’ll do a far better job. The big clear/white thing you see is a wad that’s been converted to a guide for the hull to be trimmed neatly.
Well dang. I did not realize that. I’ll try that tomorrow. I have been more than happy with Gary’s. I didn’t realize I was using it wrong. I have done a few hundred that way. If I go slow it does a decent enough job. Tomorrow I’ll try it the other way. Thanks for that but of info. Makes much more sense now. Haha
@@JWheeler331 Gary’s tool will make a perfectly even cut, what I do is trim the hulls down to just above 2 7/8”, then I adjust the screw to make a final hairs worth of trim to 2 7/8”. They come out perfect. Not as fast and easy as the reloading solutions tool, but it’ll do equally well. Good video btw.
@@theshotgunscientists Thanks. I hope I made it clear in the video that I was in no way knocking Gary’s tool. Even though I now know (thanks to you) that I was using his tool wrong. It’s still a great tool and I have been happy with it.
@@chrislang5659 It’s well designed. My shop is in my house so anytime I can use a tool that’s not a loud power tool it’s nice. I need to build me a real shop.
its my weekly gun tuber sunday evening and jwheelers always on the list
Thank you friend.
Thanks Joe! Great video and we are glad you love it.
The thanks goes to y’all. Great tool.
Good video, thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for checking it out.
That's a great tool!
It really is a super nice and well made tool.
I have something like that for 410. One day I'll make up a bunch of black powder shells. Should look good shooting from my coachgun.
Oh they do. I load up some black powder 12g brass now and then for my original 87

I’m sure that would work too.
@JWheeler331 really I like the new tool! They put a lot of work into something that works good!

@JWheeler331 I know what you mean! I am going to start a new series on building a "Hunting Blind" this week.
@@chrislang5659 Looking forward to it.
