- [4K] Rainforest Café Restaurant River Adventure Ride in Galveston, Texas. Can't you believe a Rainforest Cafe restaurant here in Galveston, Texas has a freaking Raft Dark Ride? Ride is $7 per person.
Rainforest River Adventure is a jungle-themed water raft ride located inside Rainforest Cafe restaurant next to the gift shop.
Ride filmed August 2021.
It would be funny if this was the only way to get from the host stand to the tables.
How awesome would it be if that were the dinner table?!

I love dark rides, but if that were the only way to get to my table and they still charged for a ride, I’d feel kinda irked and taken advantage of XP

So it's Jungle Cruise meets Indiana Jones meets Pirates of the Caribbean. But the vehicle of choice for the ride was a bit odd considering you don't drop or even go at very fast speeds. Doesn't even look like you'd get much water on you.
But looks like a fun experience if you're eating in the restaurant or waiting for a reservation. ;)
I think they wanted to have boats with higher capacity than just log flumes, but that could still do sharp turns in the water to keep the ride's footprint to as small as possible

Ride vehicle looks like what you'd find on Kali River Rapids. That's also at Animal Kingdom.
Yea, the ride vehicle looks like it would be more used for river rides that get you wet like Kali River Rapids or the Popeye ride in Toon Lagoon at Islands of Adventure.
That kind of vehicle is pretty standard for "river rapids" type rides. They probably didn't want to sink a lot of money into a highly specialized vehicle that wouldn't add much to the experience.
For the comments about the lighting: Attractions 360 uses cameras that perform very well in low light, even better than what the eye can perceive. So it's likely the ride is darker and the ceiling isn't as noticeable
I went last year and this is the first time I can see what was there lol it was so dark I noticed so many things that I didn't see before

SERIOUSLY! Whoever made the audio had to have slipped it in as a joke. Sounded like fruit basket having his way with himself. So uncomfortable and gross sounding. LOL! XD

Still frequently pass by the OntArio and Arizona mills locations.
I ate at a Rainforest Cafe at Chicago, but I don't think it ever had a ride.
Makes me miss the one that was located in Costa Mesa, I believe in South Coast Plaza years and years ago. That was my local before I moved out of state.
There being one at the entrance of animal kingdom/Disney world (Florida) I always eat there at the end of my visit there anytime I was at animal kingdom

I heard it too. Sounds like a man, but apparently it was the vulture? But, once I heard it I couldn't unhear it.
I was having issues with that as well! I wondered why there was "jungle sounds" going on. I half expected to turn a corner and see some "breeding" going on!

I was ready to give this a scathing review as it looks like they just took a bunch of stuff from closed locations, lazily slapped down a trough, and then snatched up some discount rafts from a defunct rapids ride, but....OMFG! VULTRUREGASM! 10/10
I'm amazed that there are still Rainforest cafes open and one with dark ride none the less!
Good for them for keeping this opened I know the Company is not doing so hot right now but for them keeping this opened and in this condition makes me happy. I’ve ridden it and it has so much charm to it.
One good thing about the pandemic, not only did I not have to travel to Texas, but I also experienced the ride virtually and saved $7 all from the safe confines of my home. thanks for the content.
But it's not the same experience as really riding this ride. Such a shame the pandemic has done.

Same I remember hating the money and snakes above your head and then that god guy laughing at the end made me uneasy as a kid. Glad this video exists. Very nostalgic and makes me want to take the ride again in person

I love the ride but I was distracted by the background ambient moaning. Don't know if anyone else heard that but it triggered my flight or fight response. Sounded like someone writhing in pain during femur surgery and experiencing the after-effects of the most nightmare-inducing sleep paralysis. I've seen it 10 times now and can't get that sound out of my head, it's not only in my dreams but I swear during times of silence I can hear it, faded at first but slowly getting louder. overall, I would recommend this ride hmu if you hear what I do

To my knowledge it’s not the actual lighting but rather I think they use really good low light cams to record which is why it looks so bright
I remember visiting a rainforest cafe when I was a kid, and the one thing that frightened me was the animatronics; it all looked like Jumanji up in there.
This is pretty cool! It's disappointing that the roof of the warehouse is so evident but definitely an A for effort. I'd love to see more things like this!

That's actually a side effect of the low light camera. When you're there in person it looks much more convincing.

I was just at Disney Springs last week and the Rainforest Cafe was still there! 2 hour wait lines, not to mention. Was cool to see the fire show outside though!

I feel like this needed something else. Like a drop would have been nice. Or more special effects like they had at the end. It just started getting interesting and then....welcome back to the loading dock!

When I go to the Rainforest Cafe there is usually no ride. I don't live close to a Rainforest Cafe. The closest one is in SF Fisherman's Wharf. I love eating at there. But since the pandemic it's closed. Maybe if someone could take me I could ride the ride. Not you. LOL hahahahaha. :)

As an 'athmospheric jungle night leisure ride' , with it's 7 minutes, it's even 1 minute longer then the Nav'i river ... :-)

I heard that there used to be an animatronic of a person over a fire being cooked and they removed the person, but not the sound.

Well, that is interesting, but if the one in Ontario Mills is one of my favorites, but if it turns in Jumanji Cafe with a Special ride, that will be Awesome.

At least they could make it a bundle discount. Example: you have a party of 4 and your meal was $50. You pay only $1.50 each to go on the ride. If you just want to go on the ride and skip the restaurant, you pay the full amount.

My mom ,dad, sister , brother ,and I rode this ride before the pandemic but it was the one in Galveston . We even rode it again on Halloween when they had a Halloween ordeal.. it is pretty neat ..

Much to it .kids got to wear Halloween costumes to get a free kids meal With an adult entree purchase .And when you rode the ride there was people dressed up to scare people . And the ride was decorated a little not much but again it wasn’t much of a event I would say. It was called rainforest cafe spooktacular Halloween).

Very nice Darkride, the Animatroniks looks nice and the Lightcenes Arena good. But i miss the rafting part! With a good rafting part IT will be perfekt.

When I was like six I used to be terrified of this ride! I’m older now and to be honest I’m still somewhat creeped out by the ride and how close the animatronics get to you.
You could just reach out and touch them. THAT IS NOT OKAY

I love this ride. Its not taking itself super seriously and is kinda leaning into that cartoony whimsical theme. Is it disney level no. But its not trying to be.
I can’t believe they cut the waterfall effect which could have gotten the riders at least a little wet
I think they updated that. When I went as a kid when it was still new I remember getting a little wet right there. People probably started complaining over the years

What happened to the story line? When it first opened there was some narration and a plot or something? That was 20 years ago IIRC.
