    This is a good thing imo. Now the genre can flourish without EA monopolizing it.

    the "i've invested money and time in the sims 4 so I don't want them to make sims 5" is so stupid... You can always play the sims 4 whenever you want, stop making everyone else suffer and give us the damn Sims 3 64-bit version for windows and Sims 5 now. thank you

      Well, they won't. They'll give you a game that's nothing like The Sims - looks like a mobile game. You can't even make your own sim. The graphics are ugly as ....

      It's the sunk-cost fallacy. Honestly pretty sad to see people rationalize being treated like ATMs who aren't worthy of quality products, but at the end of the day they're not going to change and they help keep EA afloat, good for them.

      It trips me out people start there 'support' argument with with 'maybe I'm cheap, but I invested too much money...' Sims 4 is NOT an investment, it's not growing in "value" for you. You can't cash out one day. All it's gonna do is ask you for more money for the same collapsing systems for the next ten years.

      Those players really need to understand that this is a completely normal thing for video games and that if they want to see everything they want in Sims 4, it can only really happen in a Sims 5.
      Also it's stupid how they say that they don't want to restart their progress... The game is still going to be available, Sims 1, 2, and 3 players did the same thing and they were fine with it, plus so many people still play those games to this day so why do people think that getting Sims 5 would mean their progress would restart? Yes they also spent lots of money on it but there's only so much the engine could handle, their money could just end up being a waste.

      This is just spin, it has nothing to do with what players would like

    I'm glad that EA has basically given the opening for the next generation of life sims. They're basically doing sims mobile things. Sims is still going to be popular, the old games, but that niche still needs to be filled and now there's space.

    I agree with every word that came out of your mouth, you’re a breath of fresh air. I’m so sick of these kids running around the sims community trying to gaslight everyone else into thinking what’s going on is okay or normal. Newer simmers may be happy with the bare minimum 4 has given us but those of us who fell in love with the sims in the 2000s just aren’t falling for it. Here’s to some healthy competition incoming!

    Well, I applaud the positive take on this whole fustercluck by looking at the grand scheme of things. The franchise already abandoned me a decade ago. All I ever wanted was a game that combined the standout features of The Sims 2 and 3. Instead we got even less than bare bones.
    4:50 I hadn't even paid attention to the new logo yet. So soulless. Is this really what the kids want?
    7:05 I've been looking forward to Paralives for years as a cozy life sim and home builder. I weep for LBY as a true modders' heaven and all the truly wild anything goes directions it could've gone - just imagine a cyberpunk total conversion! I naturally do find inZOI to be very pretty, and I sincerely hope that it'll have enough tasty meat on its fancy bones to make it enjoyable to me. And while I ain't really interested in multiplayer, I suppose Vivaland has at least the potential to do be doing it well, notably unlike Project Rene now.
    The big difference between EA tanking SimCity and EA tanking The Sims is obviously that the latest entry of the latter has been getting a steady stream of expansions that will keep making EA money for at least some time to come, but other than that it truly feels exactly the same: dumbed down, always online, and ripe for exploitative monetization by the standards of its time. 😑

      Finally someone talking about that new logo... I also noticed that immediately. It's a dumbed down version of the logo for a dumbed down market they are targeting. Also it's a fraction of its former self... just like the game.

    This is the smartest video about the Project Rene news I've seen so far, with an actual discussion about why EA is doing this and not just grumbling from Simmers about their let down expectations (though I do love me some grumbling)

    • @PandaBaeYT
      @PandaBaeYT  22 дні тому +1

      Sometimes grumbling is therapeutic 😂 Though I think I came to this mindset from mix of tired of being “sick and tired” and just ready for something new. Even if EA wasn’t on this live service kick, I think I would still be desperate to see this life sim niche expand.

    I said the only Sims killer was EA themselves and they have answered the call it looks like. Only time will tell. But EA themselves have made me more interested in InZoi. And made me more invested in cheering them on alongside Paralives. The genra needs both of them.

  • @mimcris8481
    @mimcris8481 24 дні тому +11

    Even if they were a little smart with TS4ever. That game is not gonna handle all those future expansions they plan to add.
    Also, the visuals for Renee might be a deal breaker for many. (The leaked images. ) Even their main public target won't like it if it's like what we saw, I theorize.

  • @Peachkins

    I'm not a fan of The Sims FreePlay or mobile games, so I’m not sure I'll like Project Rene, but I'll give it a try. Even if The Sims 5 comes out in 15 years, I’d still try it. I'm excited for Paralives, Inzoi, and GTA 6 so 2025-26 is gonna be a great year!!! I feel like the Sims series lost its charm after EA took over Maxis. I've played all the Sims games and spin-offs, and the first two had a unique lore and a sense of community and the spin offs are just as great (Sims castaway, and urbz was a bop)!!! Sims 3 was good, but Sims 4 feels more like a sandbox/doll house than a living world. It's been 10 years and I haven't played the sims 4 in over 3 years It's time for something new...!😂😂😂

    Best video on this new project rene thing. I know a lot of fans are disappointed but I felt relief hearing the news. Not because i think inzoi or paralives will have any trouble carving their own space with sims 5 around; cause it meant I could free myself from caring about the sims😂 I am looking forward to mysims tho.

    It does feel sad to see parts of my childrenhood slowly die & turn into a hold husk of what it once were. But im also happy to see this give room for more Life simulation games to take a swing in the life genre that's life simulation! 🫶🏾💗

    I think it's possible that they did the math, the Sims 4 might be underperforming, this is not to say it isn't doing great, but it is very likely not performing as well as they want (cost vs profit) so are looking at ways to get stronger gains. Of course, it isn't like EA hasn't shot themselves in the foot before, but that could also be what's behind them not choosing to develop something akin to a Sims5, instead they could focus on something safer with less output and more gains for their effort/cost.
    Note: I still think they are trying to cash in on what makes platforms like Roblox successful, but would not be surprised if they mostly miss that mark. I'm not seeing any hints so far that they will come close to cornering that market at all.
    But, since I am not into mobile games
    and they totally copped out with the whole "We are continuing with the Sims 4 for you" crap (it's actually more about less output for gain)
    I've been increasingly looking forward to Paralives, and if more get developed in the future, yay
    Intro: I was in my young adulthood when it first came out and have them trying hard, particularly with Sims 4, to make it more appealing to the younger generation but instead just made it more boring and, in some instances **cringe**... I still shake my head when I send my sims to the nearest toilet only to have my only option being to "angry poop"

    So which game are you guys planning on focusing on?
    I'm personally hitching my wagon to Paralives. I've been following the team for years, and they've been really responsive. Its been exciting seeing their growth!
    I think having InZoi coexist is also fun. In a way we maxis match and the alpha CC players will each have a path of our own. And if this is truly goodbye, I'll miss you Alpha CC'ers. Shine on you crazy stars.

      I would say Paralives though.

      People will definitely be making alpha cc in paralives. Where there is a will, there are alpha cc lovers trying to make their nest in a moddable game

    • @WonderousSmiles
      @WonderousSmiles 20 днів тому +1

      @@SimsyHazel Yeah, maybe. I know one big issue with alpha players is that the environment never matched the Sims.
      And much like the rest of us they play the Sims cause they have no where else to go. I'm sure Paralives will have some alpha modders, but I'm equally sure most would would rather make mods where the game finally works with them and their style.

    So far nothing in Sims Rene is giving anything phenomenal. Seriously they are really side stepping for Inzoi and Paralives to take over the life Sim scene.
    People will still defending this saying this "art style", if you can call it, is not final etc. But I don't think it will change much as they develop over time. Also the gameplay is literally mobile game in big neon signs.

  • @RosesTeaAndASD

    I agree. It's time for EA to focus on the mobile market.
    That's their strength.

    I am finished buying anything EA, I have been playing Sims for 20 of their 25 years. I bought everything Sims 3 and I own 71 DLC packs of the 80+ available for Sims 4. EA is not very smart, my adult son bought me a gaming PC for my 59th bday, I am retired with disposable income, who wants it ?

      The builds I use in videos have so much old and broken cc. Thankfully I don’t play with live mode so build mode works fine. But to organize all my cc would take ages so for right now I don’t share them. But thank you!! I’m glad you enjoyed 💜
