you just completly skip over how you even make a new drum rack and pick those sounds to be in it. how do i go and pick other sounds from other kits no explanation or tips at all downvoting this so others wont be fooled
probably cuz such a common sense topic doesn't need to be addressed. Go watch some beginner videos before worrying about workflow tips.
Umm I have no experience with Ableton and this was as easy as finding a drum rack or a sample and dragging and dropping. Rather than down voting perhaps a very basic intro to DAWs is more your speed. This video is fantastic..
don't be a jerk my friend, if you dislike something some kind soul has provided for free, be decent and just go elsewhere
@@wheresbernie1912why are you like this. He’s right
It's not just learning drum racks, it's tips for an OP drum rack.
Lots of awesome info here that really helped me out, thanks a lot. The section on choking was huge. That was a question I was going to search after I watched this video. You took care of that one also. Again thanks for the great info.
That randomisation alternative is absolutely genius and definitely something I will utilise in my productions henceforth.
Happy to help!
Thos chapters are there for your convenience friends!

Yooo major key thank you for sharing all these! Super helpful and unlocks a ton for people that love live jamming. Appreciate you!!
Your videos are the most helpful. Every video I learn something in Ableton I have never used.
Happy to be of service! ☺️
I'm watching every single video you publish at this point dude! Honestly such slick, high quality stuff. These videos utilising the ableton stock plugins/devices are really brilliant - it's such a powerful program and I now realise I have been utilising like 1% of it's capabilities 😅
It really is a fantastic tool, right!? 🙌🏼
you pack a lot of great tips in a small amount of time, Kudos!
Thanks so much! Glad it’s helpful!
Brilliant my friend. Thank you for helping me solve a minor drum issue that was driving me crazy!
Happy to help bud!!! Thanks!
Super helpful! Thanks, Will!
That tip about using the arp to make quick "ratchet hit pads" is DOPE! Thanks! 😁👊

Hello ! Thanks a lot for all these helpful tips !!! One quick question : when you put two samples in one pad and create a instrument rack, can you put reverb on just one of these samples ? Thanks so much !
Thank Will. My hero ❤
Also... FIRST!!!🎉🎉🎉😂
@@darkone7203 😂
A pleasure as always my friend!
I wonder if this applies if your using the new Fantom generation?🤔
You cool 🔥🔥🔥💯
You too
are all of these features available in standard?
Can i know is the feature of changing from simpler to sampler not available abelton lite T.T idk y i cant find it but when i see other youtuber they also have this feature
Did you find a solution? I dont have it either..
Hi Will! Perhaps you can help me with an issue I'm not being able to solve by myself. Somehow I accidentally configured that every time I drag a sample from my packs into the drum rack, one effect opens with it. It's not a big deal, but I have to close it each time and it grows annoying. Do you know how I can solve this? Thanks!
I think depending on where the effect appears maybe you’ve saved it as a default preset? So if the effect appears outside the rack, delete that effect then right click “save as default” track. If it’s inside the rack, delete the effect and hit the floppy disc icon, then save this device without renaming it
Off topic but How'd you make your spotify picture?
Just a little photoshop work!
Took a picture of myself, cropped my body out, scaled it up a little and put the background in a circle. Easy!
@Will Hatton thanks for the quick reply great videos btw

Racks on racks
Rack City Bishhhh, Rack Rack City
There is an easier and more intuitive way to test your different samples in a drum rack. for example, I load a drum rack and fill it up with sounds or pick one of the many stock racks already loaded with sounds. I record a drum loop, but as I'm listening to it I feel it needs a more snappier kick. The best way to audition a new kick or any sound is to listen to it with the rest of the loop right. While your loop is playing click on the pad that has the kick you would like to change. while you hover your mouse on the pad you'll notice a little circle that looks like a repeat symbol on the right side of the individual pad where the sample, or in our case the kick. If you click it, you will notice its now red and it has pulled up the actual sample in the browser section to the left with all the other similar sounds in your DAW. While the loop is playing just simply use the up and down arrow keys and you can scroll through all your kicks or whatever sound until you find the right one. This way you can keep your loop playing while you audition so you can hear how the sample sounds with the rest of your drum loop without the loop stopping everytime you click or scroll for a new sample like it normally will if you don't click that little symbol. Once you find the sound you're looking for simply press the little red symbol on the pad, turning off the audition mode. This way you can audition your entire sample library rather than limit yourself to a set number like the example you showed. It's a must use shortcut once discovered. Hope this helps anyone
The first one: Id keep it Simpler, I dont repitch/or transpose...simpler is way more powerful for what i need.
show how to make a drum rack.
Is that not at the start of the video?
@@WillHatton no its not. I had to search 10 Minutes. You didnt sayd anithing about how to get the drum Rack rack in a MIDI lane
