Ford Bronco 2 door MIC top front panel storage bag - how to load and secure

  • This week I've taken a break from DIY projects and instead spent more time actually driving the Budget Bronco! Even so, I hope to help others with some tips on how to load and use the front panel storage bag that comes with the 2 door Bronco MIC top. It is a little tricky, so hopefully my advice might save you some aggravation.
    I'll also show you a simple test that I am doing to see how well some different vinyl wrap samples adhere to the MIC top.

    Thanks for the Video! Putting the panels in the bag is the hardest part and I don't like how the hardware rubs. I am going to buy a second bag I think. I think it is worth the cost. Also the panels do fit without the bag with the seats down if you are not using the space and just want to get the panels off/on quickly. Just have blanket there so you don't rub anything.

    • @BudgetBronco
      @BudgetBronco  3 роки тому +2

      Ya with the seats down you can just throw them back there flat with something in between. Not the safest option though, if you get in a wreck that is 35 pounds of panels that is going to be thrown around. I get it tho, the storage bag is not super practical. But necessary if you want to take the panels with you and you have passengers in the back seat.

      @@BudgetBronco wow! Thanks man, the 2 door Bronco is hands down the most impressive vehicle I have ever owned. An absolute modern marvel in the evolution of the automobile. I have been selling Ford products since 1994. Todays line up and it’s “sold out” status for the 22MY is unprecedented! Such a unique time right now in that any of my Bronco, Mach-e, Maverick and even Bronco Sport customers all roll over the curb GAINING equity! The used market prices for all these vehicles I just mentioned are higher values than the build specs were new?!? Mind blowing and how Ford products are reaching such a level of exclusivity. Not just Raptors and GT500’s anymore now. This is only going to continue IMO, as products like the Lighting, Everglades, and Bronco Raptors have set a new standard of how people buy these cars. The Lighting for example, your reservation had to become an invitation then hope your dealer will get your allocation. Yeah… then let’s add in “do not sell clause’s” like say Ferrari or something?!? Are we joking? No.

    I just purchased the same bronco last week and would be interested in seeing how the spare tire on the back impacts the backup camera being that you went up in tire size

    • @BudgetBronco
      @BudgetBronco  3 роки тому +1

      There is no impact at all on the backup camera, the camera is mounted to that post that pokes through the center of the tire, so size of tire will not matter at all. 33" tires fit with the existing center brake light, 35" will require some modifications to that light

    • @BudgetBronco
      @BudgetBronco  3 роки тому +1

      I just measured and yes, technically they will fit if you don't have the front seats pushed all the way back. The bigger question would be, how to keep them from flopping around? You would need to rig some kind of system to keep them secured.

    • @BudgetBronco

    Hi! Where did you purchase the door bags/harness for the trunk? Thanks!

    • @BudgetBronco
      @BudgetBronco  2 роки тому +1

      If you buy a 2 Door with a MIC hard top, the top panel bags are included! Note that in this video the bags are for storage of the ROOF panels, not the doors. If you have a 2 door, there is no solution for storing the doors in the vehicle, they are too long to fit. If you have a 4 door, you can purchase in-vehicle storage bags. Also note, Ford does sell storage bags for the 2 Door doors, but they are only for garage storage and the like, they are not for storing in the Bronco. All of these products can be purchased here: accessories.ford.com/collections/covers-and-protectors?pf_t_model=Model%3A+Ford_Bronco_2021

    Why would someone wants to put those panels inside the bag? Not practical at all. Just put the bag in between both panels to avoid them scratching and making noise.

    • @BudgetBronco
      @BudgetBronco  3 роки тому +1

      I agree that there is limited use, but they do work well for at least one use case: when you want to drive when there is risk of rain, and you have people or stuff in the back seat, you need a way to keep the panels in the storage area. They are too big to lay flat back there on the 2 door, and if you just threw them back there upright they would flop all over the place. The bag is also a pretty nice way to store them in the garage.
