3:31 Honor Magic is giving a Ultra version hardware quality at a midrange price. While other phones such as the Pixel foldable is giving just a little above midrange hardware at a premium price. I think Google and others need to make two models a midrange quality for $1400, and an Ultra version at $1800 price range. 7:12 Google need to fix this multi-tasking problem, they need to have both split screen mode for apps and floating windows that can resize for apps. Split screen and floating resizable windows are must-have features. 😎💯💪🏾👍🏾
Great job, Ben. Your analysis is on target, concise, and true. I have been following you for a while. I currently have the Z Fold 6 and Oneplus Open. The Chinese phones are nice. Samsung is falling short and not giving all that we want. I give it to Google for trying to make thier foldable phone better. I believe Oneplus Open 2 will be the phone to beat in the US eventually. I am considering the global version for Honor V3 fold. Thank you for your review.
Very good comparison! Thanks for that. 👌I have a quick question. Does the Windows "Smartphone Link" feature work with the V3? So I can copy text on my PC or phone and paste it on the other device?
As someone who owns foldables from Galaxy Fold 1 up until now owning the Pixel 9 Pro fold ( 6 foldables and 2 flip phones) I think you got every single aspect of your comparison right!
I love keeping up with what is going on outside North America in foldables. Someday, the global market will open up and we'll have some great phones! (not that I dislike the Pixel 9 Pro Fold)
I have been waiting for this comparison, i have pre ordered both and thorn on which one to keep. With the free bang and olufsen headphones and pen that comes with the v3 i think that would be it for me even though i am going to miss on the software experience and quick updates

After watching a few of your videos today, I think I am selling my Pixel 9 Fold that I got yesterday and preordering the Magic V3. I tried it in a store and the weight and thinness alone won me over (that Pixel is CHUNKY, especially with a case) but the multitasking part is what finally convinced me. Floating windows FTW.
Enable freeform window under developer options, thank me later. And dont forget Enable non-resizable in Multi-window too otherwise you will whine about that it doesnt work for all apps. You know why its in dev options for years? Cause dev's dont implement it properly.

@@rolins3279 pixel has more bezel for sure, but equally rounded corners in the front screen, whereas V3 has different angle comparing left and right side. Not speaking about the hinge or bezels, but the screen corners. Those bother me more than they probably should. :)

I subscribed great video, i have a S24 ultra as my bar phone, but decided to go get the Honor V3 as a foldable phone it looked stunning i love the thinness and how you can multi task with ease.. don't get me wrong its by no means perfected but hopefully by the V4 or 5 it will be and im sure by then it will make all other mainstream ones looks pathetic.
Great comparison video. 2 things: Magic V3 misses too many bands for North American carriers to be viable for me. On the Pixel, activate Freeform in Developer Options for a crude way to have free floating windows until Google officially addresses it.
Great review. Im in the US and haven't pulled the trigger on the foldable format yet. Samsung's form factor is just not going to do it for me. I'm considering the Pixel, but as you point out, there are two things i can't get over: jarring left upper bezel on the main front folded screen and multitasking window limitation!! Why Google??
I never could really put my finger on why i didn't like the pixel UI but you've said it best, pixel UI feels restrictive and bland. 2:10 we don't need all the angles on it, but i get your point tho
I got Honor(M6P) and Google(P8P). I live outside USA. Pixel is good but it's so limited outside USA in terms of capabilities you cannot get all it's capabilities If you are outside US. While the Honor hardware is superb and their OS is improving everyrime. In terms of camera it's Pixel as alot of noise compare to Honor. Not planning to buy another Pixel because once again I am outside USA and I cannot enjoy it's full capabilities while on the other side I am planning to buy the new Honor's tablet and Laptop because of the Magic Ring. Also Magic Portal killed it alot better than circle to search. Once again AWESOME review Ben!
At 3:47, you can read restaurant name very clearly from Honor photo, where Pixel has completely blown up the text. Anyway, what's your best pick in terms of monster camera, best battery, software and overall between three phones: Magic V3, Vivo Fold 3 Pro, and Xiaomi Fold 4? Already got her Samsung Fold 6, not completely happy, but it was safe option. Need to get one mine now. I am truly after Huawei Tri fold device, but software... Not sure if can manage that lol
Honor v3 easily for me... The pixel looks dated in design with those curved corners and massive bezels... I prefer the V3s post processing.. photos look cleaner and more consistent.
I had this on order, but cancelled after trying to contact support with no reply. Also worried if it breaks how long it will take to repair. Also majority of reviews seem to be paid promotions and now seen a few videos where there is lagging on apps and some apps not being able to be closed etc. Specs looks good, but just dont trust the software and support yet.
I have had the V2 for eight months and it is great. As good as Samsung with battery and performance. No issues with bugs or stutters and updates are regular. There will be 4+1 of Android updates and security in the fifth year. I would not hesitate to recommend. Ignore the Samsung Knights and Pixelfans that claim otherwise.
@@bensgadgetreviews Look at Magic OS Settings, notifications, search and Control Center, they are heavily themed around iOS. Pixel UI may be copying the features of iOS but it has its own theme, namely Material Design and is distinctively different.
Totally right about the multi tasking. You buy a foldable for that as well as other stuff. Most android phones can run two apps anyway so a foldable needs to do more. Maybe iPhone will run two apps on the same screen one day!
Chinese foldable flagships are light years ahead of what Samsung and Google are offering in the foldable sector right now , at least when we compare the hardware and the camera sensors !!
At the end of the day it comes down to warranty support. You can easily get the Z Fold/Pixel Fold replaced/repaired if you have any issues. If something happened to these Chinese foldables you might get left with an expensive paper weight. I don't know about Honor, but some with the OnePlus Open have reported it takes weeks if not longer to get help with their with warranty. Y
You are right Ben on the multitasking, but truly, can we do more than one thing at a time effectively? Not to talk of three. Overall, Chinese phones will take over the phone market in the nearest future because they listen to the needs of their customers
A good review but worth doing again post Android 15. Love the thinness of the V3 but have concerns over hinge looseness and medium term resilience in the hand. Thin is great but doesn't necessarily make it more robust - can be quite the contrary. Google are at the forefront of AI. Pixel phones shouldn't be critiqued purely on hardware alone ever. 7 years of updates Pixel is a future proof safe bet. I have the Honor magic 6 pro by the way it's an incredible phone so not an Honor hater by any stretch.
Have both ( i bought the honor cuz it was cheaper and it only made me want the pixel more...no regrets) and can say that the pixel camera feels like its not as good as even the 7 pro. But actually using the phone is a dream and what samsung is missing imo for their foldable. V3 is my first Honor phone and im a huge fan with the exception of the apps you cant delete or change the language to and its inability to pair with my samsung watch. But from a software perspective, its like a cooler samsung ui. If you buy either, or both, you'll love them
Is it difficult for you to admit that the mobile phones made in China are great, just like the ratio of gaming notebooks (performance/noise) integrated by ROG, Europeans and Americans have taken away the most profitable chip business, and the assembly business is far less profitable than making chips, which is why United States people are reluctant to make mobile phones well

Recently Chinese brands have also uped their game in softwares. They just need to be consistent in updates

Do comparison between x fold 3 pro, Xiaomi fold 4, z fold 6, pixel 9 fold and honor v3
you praised where the praise was due! 🙏😊👍
My go to review channel
Honor v3 easily for me... The pixel looks dated in design with those curved corners and massive bezels... I prefer the V3s post processing.. photos look cleaner and more consistent.
Both make rattling noise when shake the phone comming from the camera? Witch one have more rattling?
Hi Ben how do I get the Honor Magic in USA? My carrier doesn't sell it
wonda mobile or averagedad
I had this on order, but cancelled after trying to contact support with no reply. Also worried if it breaks how long it will take to repair. Also majority of reviews seem to be paid promotions and now seen a few videos where there is lagging on apps and some apps not being able to be closed etc. Specs looks good, but just dont trust the software and support yet.
Finally someone speaking some sense. There’s lots of hype and paid reviews out there. The OS is just a Chinese copy of IOS, no originality.
Hey you do what you want. But my video is not sponsored at all.
@@Obi396funny you say this when pixel UI clearly following iOS
@@bensgadgetreviews Look at Magic OS Settings, notifications, search and Control Center, they are heavily themed around iOS.
Pixel UI may be copying the features of iOS but it has its own theme, namely Material Design and is distinctively different.
In your professional opinion would you say the camera on the Honor V3, would be better than the camera on the Honor 90 which is what I currently have.
You're the best man 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the great video. Can you do a comparison between the pixel 9 pro fold and vivo 3 x fold pro, please
Totally right about the multi tasking. You buy a foldable for that as well as other stuff. Most android phones can run two apps anyway so a foldable needs to do more. Maybe iPhone will run two apps on the same screen one day!
How much thinking does it feel than an iPhone 15? I want a fold but afraid of bulk in pocket
Chinese foldable flagships are light years ahead of what Samsung and Google are offering in the foldable sector right now , at least when we compare the hardware and the camera sensors !!
Thanx for Detailed comparison sir, but sadly I couldn't grab Honor in India.
Ok I ain’t ever said any of y’all should buy it
How you buy one and trade in
It's so funny having a "hinge can open at more angles" be a thing to be better in. Does anyone really care about that?
No, not really. I don't even use mine folded at 90 degrees!
You are right Ben on the multitasking, but truly, can we do more than one thing at a time effectively? Not to talk of three. Overall, Chinese phones will take over the phone market in the nearest future because they listen to the needs of their customers
Great review, you’re also leading.
Can you compare the fold to the pixel 9 fold
If you buy either, or both, you'll love them
Is it difficult for you to admit that the mobile phones made in China are great, just like the ratio of gaming notebooks (performance/noise) integrated by ROG, Europeans and Americans have taken away the most profitable chip business, and the assembly business is far less profitable than making chips, which is why United States people are reluctant to make mobile phones well
Useful video. Thanks
