    Now that Mazda will soon have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in their future models, does that change what you think of the brand?

      @Bonjurro 6 років тому +1

      Perhaps. At this point I wouldn’t even consider a vehicle without unless the infotainment can be easily replaced which is less common these days.

      TheDriveGuyde Would you recommend the CX9 or the 2.0T 4 cylinder Audi Q7?

    Long rant/information session for those concerned about the lack of a panoramic sunroof...Mazda knows *exactly* what they're doing by not putting one in. Many things about the dynamics of the way a car drives/handles are changed by the addition of a large/panoramic sunroof. There's a lot of added weight - up high - where it disturbs the center of gravity the most. There also needs to be many changes to the body/frame of the car in regards to structural rigidity - glass and metal are not the same. Interior acoustics can also be affected quite a bit - in fact, when he said it seems quieter than the last one he drove he was right: for the 2019 CX-9 Mazda added thicker sound insulation in the roof to make the ride even quieter than previous models.
    Mazda's entire concept revolves around giving life to the car and letting it's driver be at one with it...and I truly believe Mazda does this (for the masses) better than anyone else.
    In the end, I will always take the car that is more enjoyable to DRIVE over a car that is enjoyable to stargaze out of...and then I'll happily drive past all the other SUVs with their panoramic glass roofs in my CX-9.
    Cheers...and nice review btw

    Cons:
    - Pricey, and not as efficient as the CX-8 diesel on the highways (if you do a lot of that).
    - Lots of other 7 seaters competing it this class (worldwide - other markets included) that beat it in luxury, comfort, refinement or even off-road capability.
    - What you did: the looks and the Mazda badge are not that appealing to some. Personally though, I love it and am also a long-time Mazda fan.
    Pros:
    - The CX-9 is probably the best Japanese competitor in this large SUV class, as it does " many things right" (agreed), and is also a driver's car (good to drive & good communication from the car to the driver), that offers all the things we Zoom-Zoom fans come to expect from Mazda - while still being luxurious and refined enough. It beats the CX-8 (I tested them back to back) in those fields, has more inner space, and doesn't feel much bigger when you drive it. Enthusiasts like me/us, would almost certainly prefer the CX-9's turbocharged petrol.
    - A little subjective, but I love Mazda's interiors and careful/smart designs, seats and seating positions, steering and feedback, simple yet effective layout of things and how the safety and drive aids have been set up. This is a difficult mixture to get right, and many other brands have let me down here.
    - Decently good or better reliability, compared to what else is on offer in this large SUV category. The CX-9 is one of the lightest and most efficient and reliable vehicles in its class, and in most countries I travel to often, they have good second hand values - hold their value well. Their designs (in and out), that are often iconic, unique, and ahead of its time, usually mature well and help it hold its value. Good after-sales service as well in most (not all) countries.
    Cheers ✌️

    I just purchased 2ND to top of the range 2019 CX9 AZAMI AWD, what comparison is it to you? My model is above the 2019 Cx9 GT but under the top of range 2019 CX9 AZAMI LE

    Another great review love it and love the CX9 .
    Having said that I agree with you the screen size and resolution of the 360 degree camera is disappointing . I would love to also have a larger sunroof and hey even a wireless charging pad for my mobile phone ...

  • @TonyJelev
    @TonyJelev 5 років тому +7

    Everything on point. I just got 2019 CX9 Grand Touring AWD and only real disappointment for me is the mediocre 360 camera and sluggish infotainment system. I still think these are compromises i can totally live up with considering the driving dynamics, overall look and all other futures that it offers for the price.

    • @gsin311
      @gsin311 5 років тому

      what about the panaromic sunroof which every freaking car maker is putting in these days. There is no excuse for not having one of those in a large car. Plus wireless phone charging is also a must when you are spending this kind of money. What about the factory remote starter. Mazda dealers had the worst remote starters since I have wanted one in my mazda 3. The dealer only had 1 kind of remote starter which was 1 way and they charge 550 for the install. I got a 2 way remote installed in my car in about 320. Come on mazda, pick up the damn slack and start moving towards todays day and age.

      @@gsin311 You're talking about an SUV that is cost $53,000 at the top option (signature trim level). This is the cheapest 7 seats SUV you can find out there. The things that you mentioned that are missing in CX 9 are available in BMW (from X3), Audi (Q5), RangeRover (Evoque HSE up), and Lexus(RX sport series 2 up) which are cost not less than $75,000 CAD. You can't have those options that you just mention at the price of $53,000 CAD.
      Can't denied that Mazda has the worse infotainment system ever, but it's a reliable car and fun to drive.

      Gabe Singh to be honest I have a panoramic sunroof on my 2015 Murano Platinum that i have never opened for 3 years. This is on the bottom of my priority list when purchasing car. Wireless charger i dont care either because my phone is always on the cable because of the Apple car play

    • @ztekz
      @ztekz 5 років тому +2

      Comes down to priorities...there is no perfect vehicle that ticks ALL the boxes as people always want something or find fault in every vehicle regardless of brand. You can have the best pano roof and 360/screen reso but car drives bland OR the other way around - just comes to your preferences. Practicality or driving dynamics or features or price/value for money or design?Etc so on and so forth....

    "Pau Ferro (*Santos Rosewood*) is a wood of many names, and is sometimes called Morado: and because the wood is so similar in appearance and working properties to rosewood, it is also sometimes referred to as Bolivian or Santos Rosewood. The wood has been used in various capacities as a substitute for the endangered Brazilian Rosewood. Although the wood is not technically in the Dalbergia genus, it’s in a closely-related genus (Machaerium), and contains the same sensitizing compounds found in rosewoods-about as close to a true rosewood as a wood can get without actually being a Dalbergia species."

    This is already a very good and elegant SUV with the introduction of Apple car play and Android auto and 360 degrees camera, however Mazda still need to upgrade and address some of the comments of the public and fill the missing pieces being introduce by the competition to catch up if not surpass them like for example a better quality infotainment system/camera quality, upgraded navigation, paddle shifter, wireless charging and for the signature trim at least a big panoramic sun roof. But over all this is the most styless and an amazing car to drive.

    • @ztekz
      @ztekz 5 років тому

      Johnny Tampocao, this is now being addressed with the launch of the new mazda 3 this spring with better infotainment system/interface which will trickle down to all other upcoming models...

    Can they do a software update on the info system to bring up the look and feel of that?

    • @maxlandireviews

      I’m not sure they would upgrade this system unless the next generation CX-9 is a long way away

    I test drove this top of the line cx9 and the touring model. Both of them had serious rattle issues. I ended up getting the cx5 but the seats is so narrow I have trouble sitting in it 😞

    Fyi The trim is made.by Fuji guitar...and it's called rosewood, which is a treatment now since you can't actually use rosewood.
