I am getting one at least maybe two from this video but I have to thank you for the video you did on MickXer.... I use it every day AND it killed a hair pulling ground loop!! Thx!!
Was looking for combined IEM/Guitar lead for when wireless isn't suitable. The TC-Helicon and Ernie Ball ones are just the one length. There is a UK company I found that does made to measure custom gig leads including an IEM/Guitar lead. Could be useful if the 'off the shelf' leads are too long (or not long enough).
The first cable, I have seen several brands with similar mute button. Its just one more part to wear out. Use a tuner pedal as a mute works just as well.
It can, but at that price I think it’s a good price for a cable. If it does wear out, it’s not much to replace. But… a tuner pedal is definitely another option
The cord with a disconnect nubs I’ve never seen thanks for the info I like your channel and all your information you really help me figure out some issues on wireless transmission of Mitty and looping that even my sales engineer was unaware of thanks man
Thanks for clueing me into what that additional port is on the iPad adaptor! Been wondering that port’s function since getting this adapter bundled with a used usb mic from Craigslist 🤙🏼
I love your tips man. I'm setting up my IEMs to get my mix and guitar stereo in my ears. I watched your "mix your own back tracks vid and it's really helpful. Maybe go into detail with the in/ out mixer connections and muting aux to keep mix from going back to FOH and which mixers are best for this. I've only found the Yamaha MG10 series offers these options with stereo output. Are there other options on mixers?
Thank you Scott for all your great videos ! I am using the same JTV59 Variax as yours, and I fail to find a right angle RJ45 cable to connect it : do you have any idea to do so ? I have even asked Neutrik if they could make a specific one, but they don't
You mean the variax cable? Not just a generic quarter inch one right? Yeah I’ve never seen a right angle cable for that either. I actually mostly just used it with a standard cable. I only occasionally used the variax cable when I used it with my helix. I enjoyed wireless too much 😊
That Lighting to USB B is probably exactly what I need, thanks! Also which iPad are you using for all your midi work? Is it an 8/9th gen or an old 2017 Pro? Are there differences is the capabilities of the lighting/USB ports?
@@ScottUhlMusic Great to know, thank you! I have a 9th gen right now, but thinking to upgrade to the old 2018 Pro to get USB and a better machine in every way. I just hope the battery health will be ok
The iRig isn’t really a “cable” more of an interface, but the iRig HD stuff is great. I use the DUO myself and it works well. They just released the X model as well
How many gigs did you play with this lekato cables? I love mute connectors, I used a lots of them and I love to explore a cheap gear (simply because I smash or forget cables sometimes), but for now Neutrik Silent is the only reliable ones, only Neutrik survived through years. Other ones, cheap connectors from aliexpress, lasts for 3-12 months only and broke up.
@@ScottUhlMusic me too, but I am also insane about crazy guitar tunings and I use this cables for a fast guitar switch on stage when I need change from openD to CGCGCC =)
Apple has been known in the past to specifically update iOS to reject non-apple cables under the "for security of your device" reason. Apple has always been very proprietary, so that users have to buy Apple products. That is the reason some cables will not work.
Yeah I know apple hates non-apple stuff. Is that the real reason some cables don’t work? Nothing to do with iOS update or physical updates each year with the phone?
@@ScottUhlMusic There was an article about it a few years ago, where they were talking about how they push updates to make it harder to use "outside" components. I always took that to be the reason.
@@ScottUhlMusic hey Scott! It very well could be software updates...and within those updates you would find patches and code changes that are basically included to discriminate against non-Apple cables (in theory). It's not hard to build a thunderbolt connector and attach it to a cable, but Apple's specs are probably an arbitrary standard that allows the phone to detect the presence of a third party cable. Something as simple as how much conductive material can save a lot of money in manufacturing, and yet is easy for any smartphone to detect. FYI, my work phone is an iPhone and I bought a super cheap charging cord...it sucks. It won't charge unless the weight of the connector and a good length of the cord has to be weighing it down. If I tamper with the cable, it almost always loses charge. This shouldn't happen if a cord is brand new and has been manufactured to any sort of industry standard at all, but Apple designs their products to basically be crybabies when the cord is not oh so perfect and made by Apple. Hope that helps!
The guitar / headphone cable would be handy! I haven't seen that before.
Yeah, it’s pretty cool!
Ernieball make some now. I can attest to the build quality of ernieball is better then tc helicon, since I had both.
Thank you you’re making my life alittle less stressful.
Hahaha glad to hear that 🤘
Thank you!
Thanks Larry!
Very helpful info. Keep it up! 👍
Thanks 😊

Excellent video Scott. Never knew about the myvolts products. Thanks.
Some useful tips right there!
Thanks, glad you found them helpful!
Very helpful, thanks! I'm looking for a power supply for HX Stomp, I will be checking out Rip Cord.
It’s the main one I use!

instrument/headphone cable looks great! I might try making one with a multicore cable. What's that guitar behind you with the fanned tailpin?

I use wireless at every show haha. Even for acoustic gigs, so I don’t use cables live if I don’t have to. I’m a little obsessed 😅

True that Scott..I really enjoy your channel..it is obvious you put a lot into your channel..well done
