    C'mon Everybody - Elvis Presley & Ann-Margret in Viva Las Vegas 1964
    • C'mon Everybody - Elvi...
"C'mon Everybody” is a song by Elvis Presley. The song was featured in the movie “Viva Las Vegas” 1964. Both Elvis and Ann-Margret dance to the melody of the song. The song is preluded by a one minute dance performed by Ann-Margret and the chorus.
viva las vegas the movie, had some great tracks. travs - question for you - you being the dance expert. how good was this guy? i hear lots of people rubbish his moves, and style but for me ive never seen a more natural person moving on stage. anyways thats my question for you! cheers, matt

At the time, Ann-Margret was hailed as the "Female Elvis" - during the movie and for a time thereafter they were romantically involved, as their palpable chemistry had them falling in love. To this day, she has nothing but praise about Elvis.. a truly classy act

Elvis never, never, never practiced dance movements like professional dancers do. Just like his mother, Elvis moved as the music made him feel. There was a name for it.
When asked if he thought about and practiced dance moves, Elvis replied that he could not as he would forget all about the song. He just moved with the music.

It was pure fun. Colonel Parker was afraid that Ann-Margret would get too much attention and detract from Elvis in the movie. But it turned out fine. In the movie Elvis does a beautiful song called "Today, Tomorrow And Forever. A-M is on the sidelines looking at Elvis. It's not featured in the movie, but they did the song together and it is wonderful. Also, not in the movie, but quite saucy is "Your The Boss" with them teaming up. It's special.

Colonel Parker attempted to keep her from sharing top billing with Elvis but eventually relented to the studio. It's been said multiple times and confirmed by many including Ann-Margret herself that their chemistry was real. To piggy back Travis's comments, She was definitely a studio dancer, though she injected lots of vivaciousness and flair, while Elvis was a street dancer, bot oh-so-smooth.

Ann-Margret said the Elvis naysayers were jealous of him. It's pretty hard flaw his looks or voice, so they went after his moves as being too suggestive. They forget that he personally choreographed the prison scene in "Jailhouse Rock", not to mention the incredible moves and chemistry with Ann-Margret in "Viva Las Vegas". For Elvis, his movements were all natural and fluid reflections of his feelings for the music, and they were iconic and imitated. Compare Elvis' moves to those of Carl Perkins, the other rockabilly great star on Sun Records, and well, there is no comparison. One of his best moves was to "Mean Woman Blues" in his early movie "Loving You". Austin Butler did a great repeat of the moves in the Elvis biopic.
