Im from Mansfield area. It is somewhat run down now just depends what part you go to. Used to be a busy well Off town untill all jobs went over seas in the 90s. Alot of history in mansfield.
Yeah I feel you glad I moved away I visited family over thanksgiving who still live here and man the vibe is just as miserable as I remember (I also went to a funeral for a grandparent of mine that passed away so that added on to it)yeah it’s a no for me it makes an average state like Pennsylvania (which is where I live now) look like a top tier paradise
The Ohio state reformatory is open for historical day time tours, haunted overnight stays and of course during the month of October it's a "haunted" prison. Historical tours were neat. Check online I'm not so sure there open in the winter

I visited that city a few times during the summer of 1984. The only place where I have attended a drive-in cinema. Didn't seem particularly " strange" then, nor does this more modern version, in your video.
Definitely does not look like Cleveland or Cincinnati. Shit it's plenty parts of Pennsylvania that look like this. Every small town outside Pittsburgh looks similar just with more hills.
I'm from Mansfield, and all you're showing is the back alleys of the hood in the downtown area. Shawshank Redemption was filmed here. Kingwood Center is a beautiful area, along with many places in Mansfield. The oldest merry-go-round is downtown, along with several old beautiful churches. Nobody goes to the areas you're showing, unless you're a criminal on welfare.
That's what I do in every city. That's the whole point of the channel. I show the non tourist areas, or areas people may not know exist. That's why people watch, and they even request places for me to film.

My dad is from Ohio but I've never spent any significant time there, I live close by in MI tho. Wondering if a lot of roads in OH are that small without sidewalks? MI roads suck too in their own ways tho, I feel like most roads in this region of the country are just paved over horse/buggy trails. Kalamazoo has some major arteries that just randomly dead end in multiple spots and other roads that kind of just aimlessly bring drivers through stupid af intersections. So if you haven't visit the zoo yet, you'll have some fun on the roads 😂

It's not flat😂 we have many hills certain areas maybe low lying but certainly not all! Valleys flood a lot when it rains a lot and...they happen to be near our clearly aging downtown area
@robertpeterson8640 we have alot more outlets for entertainment up here. We have three professional sports teams. Hundreds of restaurants. We have some of the best parks in Ohio. The lake Erie coast. The second largest theater district after NYC in the US.

Mansfield is home of Johnny Apple seed and the reformatory. Even had a GM factory but the population declined a lot over the years. Mansfield died down over the years but definitely not odd .You need to cover Columbus so that way you’d have cover all 3 big C towns in Ohio. Waiting for you to do the 614 so I can see what areas you end up in.
There’s few jobs in the city and a lot of poverty it’s a little run down but it’s not completely terrible there’s worse places but there’s also way better options even with this weird economy

Actually not very safe in many areas. People have been mugged even in the hospital parking lot. A friend of mine said the postal workers are afraid to even deliver mail where he lives since there is gun violence. This video is deceiving. A lot of drug addiction in Mansfield.

This was a great place to live in the 70’s & 80’s, of course drugs, politicians have torn this place down.
The downtown area is nicer than it has been in a long time. People are working hard on it.
Still is a nice place... just stay away from the drug scene and all that goes with it!

Love this city born here lived here 40 years! Plus also we are trying to clean spruce this town up.... the city got the fountain working downtown and trying to put an end to shenanigans out on the popular roads in the shopping district...
